We call ourselves a united states but we are NOT united because we are having the "wool thrown over our eyes" by unscrupulous members of our military and by some in the Congress who are more afraid of the dollars spent than by providing safety and reliable on-the-job training for the military men and women who defend us daily.

My conviction is that he backs away from his own work. This does not mean that I am looking forward for a nice pole shift soon to happen. However, I expected in the epilogue the same professionalism to give a modern, more holistic answer to the questions that surfaced during the years, instead of simply stating in only 17 pages that it will not be as it was seen by him.
After reading White (and Velikovsky), I am truly convinced that more than one pole shift has taken place in the last million years. Maybe not exactly as written by the above mentioned authors but nevertheless highly interesting and demanding for further research. And to be taken very seriously

Now that we have entered the Year 2000, and the world did not come to an end, the criminal element has once again set to work to wreak havoc upon Mom and Pop stores, retail convenience stores, fast food restaurants, retail chain stores, armored couries and even postal carriers. All of these occupations can be categorized as High-Risk occupations and High-Risk workplaces. It goes without saying that Banks and other financial institutions are certainly high risk workplaces, but with the newest coined phrase, "Going Postal" and the fatal and life-threatening incidents which have taken place in our nation's postal facilities, the playing field has greatly expanded to each and every postal location becoming a hazardous, high-risk workplace. Armed Robbers, throughout the nation, have taken "Going Postal" still another step by boldly committing armed robberies against carriers in "your" neighborhood and community. The time for honing awareness, training, Intervention and prevention skills and tactics is now! The Armed Robbery Training Manual on CD-ROM is that answer. I have used both the diskette version and the CD-ROM version and I can attest that the CD-ROM is one of the best anti-Armed Robbery I have seen in many, many years. I can see that someone, probably the publisher has come before me and has listed the contents, but the latest CD-ROMs have been continuously enhanced with more and more information, which will continue to help both employers and employees in any at-risk or high-risk workplace.
The local food store you shop at now may not be the safest place to buy your food if their employees and security staff have not been properly trained in what to do and what not to do before, during and after an Armed Robbery, which includes how to safeguard customers and innocent citizens. This goes for your Bank, Convenience Store, Retail Clothing Store, Your favorite Sit-Down Restaurant, Fast Food Restaurant (Remember Wendy's in New York and Luby's in Killeen, Texas and McDonalds on California), your favorite Dance Club and more. If they are not properly trained if it occurs while you are there, then your life and safety are also at-risk and in jeopardy. While it may not have happened to you yet, it's something to think about. We all know how to keep ourselves reasonably safe, but what happens when that safety is threatened and we are unable to trust those who wield the responsibility to protect us.
The next time you go to any of the locations listed above, ask the Store Manager or Proprietor or the uniformed or plainclothes security officer if he or she has been properly trained on What To Do and What Not To Do in the event of an Armed Robbery, especially if it occurs while you and your children are patronizing the store or facility.
If they can't reasonably answer you to your complete personal satisfaction, they may not have because of the overwhelming belief that "It Can't (or Won't) Happen Here!" ... please feel free to refer them to the Armed Robbery Training Manual on CD-ROM, readily available for acquisition from Amazon.Com.
Armed Robbery is a grim reality and an important concern in our seemingly modern society. It's better to prepare and not have to use the training and tactics, than not to prepare and experience victimization on a grand scale.
Five stars is not nearly enough of a rating for The Armed Robbery Training Manual on CD-ROM, because the training it offers to properly prepare the at-risk workplace, the high-risk workplace, the school, the retail faclity, the library or any target which may be randomly selected by Armed Criminals has the unique capability of saving innocent lives, and because it's just that important!

Beat the Heat will guide you step by step through such experiences as being busted by the pigs for drugs, how to print your own demonstration leaflets, how to avoid the diseases of communal living, first aid for confrontation situations, firearm selection and tactical defensive firearm use. Overall, the book is detailed, and is a basic common sense approach to avoiding trouble while doing illegal things. What it lacks in originality, it certainly compensates for in volume.

But, then, he WAS a showman, after all. This book cuts through much of the haze, hype and harangues and gets to the real Freed. Interviewing many family members and close friends, this is a thoroughly interesting and readable story, even for those who THINK they know what the story is.
From the early days in Ohio on to the "heyday" at WINS and then, all too quickly to the debacle in Boston, which caused all the "rats" within the industry to bail out on Freed, this is a story all true music fans should read.
But, regardless of the money and favors that changed hands during the birth of rock and roll, it seems likely that Freed never played anything that he didn't have faith in musically. Much as Lenny Bruce became the "fall guy" for un-censored social commentary, Freed paid the price for a new kind of music, and also paid the price because that music was a key factor in bring ing the races together.
When Alan's death came just a few scant years after his fame was ripped from him by the rock-n-roll foes, it was undoubtedly his heavy drinking and a weakened liver that was the actual cause of death. Emotionally, a broken man at the young age of 43, Alan Freed was actually far more influential than he could have ever imagined himself. In those incendiary moments at the live shows that he so artfully orchestrated, and in the telephone book-pounding and sing-along fervor of his radio shows,it is doubtful that even he could have known how far his ground-breaking work would influence and change the world of music in the ensuing decades.

Kay treats readers to a rich description of the countryside during the boys' journey. They experience the "sweet, refreshing scent" of a wide, wildflower-strewn prairie, where "green grasses waved in the wind like waves approaching a shore." The boys meet animals unheard of back in Boston, and insects like fireflies, which George compares to "millions of tiny lanterns.
Their appreciation of new sights and sounds are short-lived, though. Upon reaching David's family and realize that David's parents are heavily involved in a dangerous plot with John Brown, whose secret plan to overthrow the Federal government involves starting a violent slave uprising across the South. Feel the tension of a family divided, as members realize the risks of taking such a stand. Will they help John Brown in his dangerous plan, or make it to Harpers Ferry in time to warn the townsfolk and stop him in his tracks?" -- Bonnie Bruno...

Whereas that book juxtaposed the plight of a slave family and a northern family filled with abolitionists and sympathetics, this book follows the adventures of two boys and their fathers as they journey to the Kansas Territory in the days when John Brown cast the longest shadow in the land.
David and George, two of the young heroes from the first book, are the main characters here as well, along with their fathers. They have typical frontier adventures, but always in the background (and often in the foreground) is the specter of war, brought on by the increasingly violent actions of abolitionists like David's father.
The arrival of the boys in "Bleeding Kansas" brings that state's bloody conflict into sharp focus. And by having David's father, John, be a part of John Brown's brigade, the author gives us an up-close glimpse of the passion (and, some will say, madness) of Brown himself.
This book succeeds the most by having the reader follow the typical adventures of young boys (playing baseball, getting into fights, doing odd jobs for spending money) while at the same reminding that reader that the setting for these typical adventures is Civil War-era America. To his credit, Alan Kay succeeds at both.
As with the first book in this series, I highly recommend this book. It is an excellent portrayal of young people in the 19th Century. David White, editor, Social Studies For Kids, ...
