A very comprehensive introduction to muslim architecture
I love this book. It gives you a very good insight to muslim architecture and is at the same time easy to read and entertaining. As an orientalist in a postgrad study program I got to read books on the subject that are much more confusing or that are written in a slightly boring style. This book is a thorough introduction that never just stays on the surface of the matter. It does not give you a chronological account of architecture history, but answers a lot of questions like "Why it was built like it was built?" In the back part of the book you find plans and short descriptions of the most important buildings, in the first part you find a lot of good photographs and even better articles on single subjects like materials or building techniques. But the most important thing: It's NEVER boring.

A Recreation of Prokov's Classic Tale!
This book's fantastic! It docoments the story of Chuck Jones thinkin he was gonna do a better version of Peter and the Wolf than Walt Disney. It contains tons of colour and black and white photos from the film.Chuck Jones'animation, like Disney himself,is splendid. The other WB animatours, like Robert McKimson,Friz Freling and Tex Avery have animation as splendid like Disney himself. In fact, this version of Peter and the Wolf is way better than Walt Disney's version of Peter and the Wolf! Relive the moment it was first made in this book!

This is a message to investors
This book is sending a message to investors and particularly small investors that a stock or mutual fund investment has no guarantee of going up. There are highs and lows in the market.
The message is sent in a folksy, homespun, satirical and entertaing manner. The messenger is a mythical hermatic type character who creates a story that mixes travels and rendevous' as the means of delivering the message.

George Jones Ceramics
"George Jones Ceramics" has been well researched and is beautifully presented. It is about a major 19th century English pottery business, of which little was known before Robert Cluett's book. Archived collections and histories of nineteenth century potteries have generally been neglected in favour of older potteries and because of museum financial constraints. But they all have a place in the history of ceramics and until this book was produced there were fears that much information about George Jones Pottery would be lost forever. The best part of this beautiful book, for my family, is the history of George Jones' family and descendents which is included. George Jones was my husband's great grandfather.

A compelling look at both the legend and the man
Fleshed out with an additional twenty years of meticulous, exhaustive research and newly revised by Robert E. Jones (Professor of History, Fordham University), George Washington: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Leader is an informative biography of America's first President. Focusing especially on Washington's trials during the Revolution and his service as President, George Washington: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Leader is a compelling look at both the legend and the man, his foibles as well as his virtues, and his legacy and contribution to both American and world history. George Washington: Ordinary Man, Extraordinary Leader is very highly recommended for academic and community library American History and Biographical Studies collections.

A must have
It is difficult to know where to begin. This book is a must have for any archaeologist who works in the Great Basin. However, It would be of benefit to anyone who works in North America. Beck put together a splendid volume that includes articles by many of the movers and shakers in Basin archaeology. The title describes the contents of the book, with a review of important archaeological questions and models that Basinists were dealing with in the past and how that leads up to what we are doing now. My copy is already well worn.

I really enjoyed reading this book.It shows so much thought went into it showing both sides of what makes a relationship work, whether it be bdsm or vanilla relationships. Once you start reading it it is hard to put down. Very moving and well written. Hope to see some more of this author's work soon. Got a winner here in my book.

G. A. Henty wrote a scores of historical fiction stories about the Middle Ages and other time periods, including Ancient Civilizations, the Renaissance, and even journeys to the new world. At the turn of the century, he was a renowned author, especially among high-school boys. I am surprised that he has been almost completely forgotten today. Henty is a marvelous author who wrote exciting, historically accurate, action-adventure books.
Wulf is a Saxon thane who is under the command of Earl Harold of Wessex. He is always by Harold's side, ready for adventure with his right-hand man Osgod and his best friend Beorn. They fight the Welsh, the Bretons, Vikings, and finally the Normans under the command of the Duke of Normandy, a.k.a. William the Conqueror at the final conflict at Hastings.
If all Henty's books are like this one, I'm going to ask my parents to order the whole set! The only downside to investing your time in this book is the beginning is a little slow. But after that, It's Great! I can't wait to read the next one.
