One of the best sources available
This book is loaded with technical information for the dratsman and designer. A must have for anyone who is in the mechanical technology field.

One of the best text books ever written...
This text was the basic drafting manual that I used during my technical education; its use did not end with school, however, since I refer to it frequently in my occupation. It tells everything that needs to be explained and described in the general drawing problems that might be encountered in industrial practice. It contains excellent descriptions and illustrations for: Drawing Threads, Fasteners & Springs Geometric Constructions Clear, Concise instructions in using Drafting Instruments, (before the time of Computer Aided Drafting & Desing, in any case). An Excellent overview of the Industrial Design & Development Process, (which I wish my supervisors would read). Sectional Drawing. This book is to drafting what Machinery's Handbook, of the Industrial Press, is to the metal working industries. There are a variety of Drafting Textbooks available, but none are incrementally better, let alone drasticaly better.

WOW!!
I don't actually own this book, however, I spent no less than an hour and a half staring at the pages, wishing I had sixty dollars to spend on it. Now I'm glad I didn't have that money, considering I can buy the same book for twenty dollars less!

Anyways, this book is literally filled with beautiful photos, and information about each one. I am sure that if I had been given the opportunity to read it, page by page, I would have other wonderful comments to make. However, I only know the bare minimum about it, and I strongly suggest anyone who is truly interested in Ancient Egypt, and Tutankhamun, to buy this astounding book.

Fabulous volume!
This new volume is a refreshing addition to any collection on the subject of Tutankhamun. For those of us who have not been able to actually visit the Egyptian Museum and see the treasures of the king for ourselves, Tutankhamun, by T.G.H. James is essential. There have been many publications on the subject, and many fine photographs of the objects of the tomb reproduced. T.G.H. James has collected a totally new set of images, many of objects which are not published previously. The reproductions are superbly done, the accompanying text is refreshing and illuminating. If you have read everything you could find on the subject, and perused each object until the page begins to wear, this book is for you. I am totally delighted with this book!

Real History Lesson
This CD REALLY opened my eyes! The performance of the reader and the power of the music brought the words to life. I FINALLY understood the time & conflict our founding fathers went thru.

I wish they had presented this to me when I was in school! All I can remember was the Boston Tea Party was against taxes & the Constitution was a really successful intellectual experiment.

I've been loaning it to friends & have had trouble getting it back. They love to listen to it while driving, etc. Its very inspiring & uplifting

This is a "must have" for everyone who values freedom.
Words of Freedom: Men of Honor is a gripping dramatic rendering of historic American documents and quotes that timelessly inspires the whole world not just Americans. I would recommend this CD to any student, to any history buff, or even to anyone who has not studied History for years. I hope you find this program as thought provoking, alive, and entertaining, as I have.

African-American Newspapers and Periodicals: A National Bibliography (Harvard University Press Reference Library)
Published in Hardcover by Harvard Univ Pr (1999)
Authors: James Philip Danky, Maureen E. Hady, and Henry Louis, Jr. Gates
Amazon base price: $140.00
Average review score:

The most comprehensive guide to African-American newspapers.
There are a number of reference guides to African-American newspapers and peridocials. From the first known publication, _Freedom's Journal_, published in New York City starting in 1827 to the present, there have been more than 3,500 African-American newspapers and peridocials. Preserving the record of these presses is crucial. Not only did these presses serve as a protest organ, but also documented normal black life, especially as it existed under segregation and Jim Crow laws. In many cases, these papers provide the only extant record of African American life in forgotten and remote towns. Unfortunately, only a small percentage are preserved on microfilm or in other formats. The record of these periodicals is the next most important level of information. _African-American Newspapers and Periodicals_ does an excellent job of documenting these newsapers and magazines. Given the dominance of majority points of view in mainstream publications and the low number of black journalists, the African American press is an essential voice for the black community. If African Americans do not tell their story, no one will. This reference work is the best starting point for learning more about these publications.

excellent
These volumes, written by a distinguished American Egyptologist, were first published in 1906 and 1907. In his introduction to this re-edition, Egyptologist Peter Piccione provides a short biography of the author as well as a historical account of the 5 tomes. Volume 1 discusses the First through the Seventeenth Dynasties; Volume 2, the Eighteenth Dynasty; Volume 3, the Nineteenth Dynasty; and Volume 4, the Twentieth through Twenty-Sixth Dynasties. Volume 5 contains supplementary bibliographies and indices for the previous volumes; Piccione has added a more recent bibliography that proves to be quite useful. Each book offers a description of texts along with comments on historicity and significance, before continuing onto easy-to-understand translations. Many of the texts included are never-before-seen passages, while others are quite popular: the Palermo Stone, Letter of Pepi II, Tale of Sinuhe, Tomb of Rekhmire, Capture of Kadesh, Papyrus Harris, Adoption Stela of Nitocris, and so on. This is the most complete, easy-to-consult translation of Egyptian historical texts ever available in the field of Egyptology. A highly recommended resource for students and scholars.

A Great Deal, for James lovers and newbies
This is a tremendous book - some of the greatest stories ever written, attractively packaged and reasonably priced. These are not really "short stories", as most of them are longer than 50 pages, and they all require careful attention, but the effort is well worth it. While some are better than others, there is not a weak story in the book.

Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (2nd Edition)
Published in Hardcover by Prentice Hall College Div (15 June, 2000)
Authors: James A. Rehg and Henry W. Kraebber
Amazon base price: $100.00
Average review score:

Computer-Integrated Manufacturing
Many manufacturing technology professors feel unsure about the nature and teaching computer integrated manufacturing (CIM)in their program. James A. Rehg and Henry W. Kraebber are dynamic authors, as they present CIM as a technical and strategic function of an organization. They offer a technical and management-based approach for understanding and implementing CIM in the "world class manufacturing" settings. Unlike other CIM books, Computer Integrated Manufacturing is written from the manufacturing technology professor's point of view with technical expertise. The CIM model used is consistent with the SME Manufacturing Enterprise Wheel developed by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. This books explains the fundamental principles as well as practical applications of computer integrated manufacturing in a clear and effective manner and the illustrations complement the text well.

Concordance to Henry James's the Spoils of Poynton (Garland Reference Library of the Humanities, Vol 648)
Published in Hardcover by Garland Pub (1988)
Authors: Todd K. Bender and D. Leon Higdon
Amazon base price: $15.00
Average review score:

You'll only read this in school- forget about it.
Even English professors often admit they wouldn't read James if they didn't have to. The Spoils of Poynton, however, is an enjoyable and easy read. 20th century readers prefer a plot that flies by and, thus, aren't often interested with the snail paced action of James' psychological dramas. However, James' intricate and subtle method, his ceaseless asides, are well worth working through. "Spoils" is a great introduction to James' work because it displays his talents (particularly, his character interaction is intriguing) with rare brevity (184 p).
