Fun & Educational Ask Kermit Series
This is a very good book and I was amazed at how much my 4 year old learned about bugs in less than a week! It is science presented in kid language. It tells the difference between insects and spiders, caterpillars to butterflies, how bugs taste, etc. It is an excellent book and I plan to give it as a birthday gift to other children.

Great poetry. It's a powerful story.
Great poetry. If you're looking to intergrate your spiritual and creative life with all the daily demands this book is for you. The author lives in the fast paced male dominant Silicon Valley and as a poet and English professor she weaves her own journey with her poetry. It makes a powerful story. It's also perfect for prayer group discussions or creative writing workshops.

Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal
Christian Worship: A Lutheran Hymnal is the hymnal of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. It was published in 1993, and within a few years it was in use in over 90% of WELS congregations. The committee's goal was to "preserve, improve and enlarge" the Lutheran worship heritage, building on the materials in The Lutheran Hymnal (1941). The hymnal uses contemporary, and inclusive language, yet retains Elizabethan English in many hymns that could not be revised without violence to the text. I've been leading worship with it for over nine years, and have found it is very user friendly, yet very substantial in content. The hymns are not "dumbed down." Special features: sixty psalms with refrains, responsive prayers for the seasons, multiple settings (harmonizations) of tunes when the tune appears more than once, contemporary settings of Service of Word and Sacrament, Service of the Word, Evening Prayer (Vespers). The Common Service and Morning Praise (Matins) retain the tunes that were in TLH.

Excellent Overview of computerized Bible Study
Jeffrey Hsu has done a masterful job in this work. First published in 1993 and in need of an update, Hsu's book can still be used with profit- from deciding whether or not to use Bible software to how to select and what features to look for. A good section on the pros and cons of using Bible software is also included and a great help.
If you are considering augmenting your print library or if you want to convert totally to this new electronic method of Bible study, you can't go wrong with the excellent advice contained herein.

Great Book
This is a great book that teaches you while you have fun. If you've ever watched Ghostwriter on PBS you'd know that this book is writen exactly like the show. It's a great mystery where a kid named Jamal found a kidnapping message while in London and needs his friend's help back in New York to stop the crime. The book is fasted paced and jumps between three different point-of-views. I bought this book and loved it.

Fundamental Accounting Principles
This text was VERY helpful. The illustrations and examples were enough to explain the topic without havung to read the entire book.. Also the problems given at the end of each section were very good. Some were tough; however, the author starts you out with easy problems and works up to the more difficult ones. This text definitely is a good learning aid.

"Just war" doctrine with historical context
The authors apply the Christian doctrine of a "just war," together with the often neglected historical context, to arrive at conclusions quite different from those presented by major media. In the opinion of this Muslim, the Christian doctrine seems very similar to Islamic teaching regarding issues of war, peace, and the treatment of non-combatants. Indeed, Islam may help fill some of the gaps the authors found in applying the Christian doctrine. I recommend the book highly to those seeking to investigate the morality of the Gulf War, or simply to get a good introduction to it.

Small Gem
"Masterpiece Studies" is one art historian's proposal to emphasize the influence of contemporary European music, primarily Wagner, on the production of three painters: Manet, Van Gogh and Monet. At the same time, Emile Zola's novel "L'Oeurve" is considered as Zola's reaction to the Impressionist "threat" to his realist sensibilities.
Manet's "Bar at the Folies-Berger" is a late masterpiece that challenges Zola, who will then create a failed version of Manet in his novel. Investigating Van Gogh's series of "La Berceuse" paintings, Champa explores how the series fits into the idea of "masterpiece" or "copies". Finally, Monet breaks down the single-masterpiece concept with his extended practice of painting series (cathedral, haystacks).
The depth of understanding about the subject(s) is rivalled only by the evident love Champa feels for his Studies.

A great book for the inner frog in everyone.
Kermit's Guide to Life in the 90's is an enjoyable read for anyone who has either grown up watching the Muppet Show or has been swept up in any self-help movement in recent years. While establishing itself as a book that can stand on its own, the humor really comes out when you realize the original subject matter that is being parodied. From 7 Habits to Chicken Soup to Don't Sweat the Small Stuff to Mars and Venus, it is all covered. The material is given as factual tips to bettering your life, while keeping the wry, sardonic, and occasionally over-the-top humor of the Muppet Show intact. Overall, a very well thought out and crafted book, I would recomend this to anyone I meet, but don't let Miss Piggy read it...
