Good way to prepare pre-K kids
We got this book from the library, read it every night, renewed it once and finally bought it. It has helped our son start getting ready for kindergarten because it describes what he'll be doing there. There are lots of photos and text descriptions of things from using the bathroom (whenever you need to) to fire drills and making new friends. We told the principal at his school about it, and he bought a copy, too.

I'm a Misfit
It may surprise anyone who reads this book that gay characters were included. Most of my classmates who read this book thought it was wrong and disgusting for the author to do this. But all it does is make the book have a truer meaning. Because the character Joe was gay, he was ridiculed by the others in his school. That is why it was an important reason why the No-Name Party was established. He puts a base to the book, and brings out the authors whole meaning. This was a great book, and teaches all children and even adults that "Sticks and stones may break our bones, but names will break our spirit." from The Misfits

The Misfits
The story is about friends who are made fun of. The main charactures are Addie, Skeezie, Joe, and Jordan. They kept there spirits high even if someone made fun of them. My favorite character was Addie because she is orginized and fun to be with. Icould relate to all of them because i have been made fun of too. I have felt the same way that some of them felt.

I loved the book because they go to the candy store every week and make a skit of what they talk about instead of talking it out.

I would recommend this book to a person who gets made fun of. I would recommend this book because it has a good format and the book is worded well. James Howe is a wounderful writer and i hope to read more teen books by him.

A must read for all young adults and teachers
Have you ever been called a name? I'll bet you didn't like it. It's not fun being made fun of or being labeled. Most of us are much more complex than a single name or label can say. The characters in this book are 4 friends who sit down one day and make a list of all the names they have been called by their classmates. When they are done the list totals over 50 names. Instead of sulking, being depressed, or becoming violent, these kids decide to fight back in a logical and peaceful way. They run for Student Council on a "No Name Calling" platform. This book will make you laugh, cry, and feel everything in between.

bunnicula
I read the book Bunnicula. It's about a dog named Harold
and a cat named Chester. And of course a rabbit named
Bunnicula.(not your ordinary cuddley rabbit.)
It all started when harold and chester's owners came
home from a dracula movie. And the owners didn't come
home by themselves. They came with a box with a rabbit
in it.They put the rabbit in a cage. They had some
trouble nameing the rabbit. But they finally found
the name of bunnicula. Probably because of the fact
that they found bunnicula at a dracula movie.
And they sure picked the right name for him. Chester
began to notice that the black spot on Bunnicula looked
like a cape. Chester stayed awake to see what bunnicula
did at night.(I would of though a rabbit would sleep
at night.) Chester noticed that the sly rabbit wasn't
in his cage. He heard a noise in the kitchen. The door
of the kitchen opened. And guess who was hopping happily
out of the kitchen.(That was a sentance from the book.)
The next morning all of the veggitables were white.
On the third time Bunnicula went out for his midnight snack
Chester was prepared. He was trying to starve Bunnicula.
Harold yelled at Chester. Bunnicula looked sick.A few
days later Harold took Bunnicula out of his cage and
lead him to the kitchen. I can't tell the ending because
this is an online review. I recommend this book if you
like bunny vampires.

absolutely hilarious
I first read this book- or rather, had it read to me at school- when I was seven. I loved it so much, I couldn't resist recommending it to my little sister, who was too young even to think of reading. Well, it certainly jumpstarted her on books. She's sixteen now, every bit the avid reader I am, and still has Bunnicula and all its sequels on her shelf. We both still like to crack them open for a good laugh.
This book has everything a kid could want in a book... a mystery, a vampire (well, maybe), laugh-til-you-cry humour (pounding a sharp 'steak' through the vampire's heart...), and best of all, it's told from the point of view of a dog, who has any number of amusing insights into cats, children, mysteries, and other such things. The cat, Chester, in particular, is a riot. He's a bit of a know-it-all, and just too darn clever for his own good, and still the family can't understand what he's trying to tell them. In the end though, it's the thoughtful dog Harold who figures out what really matters.
The illustrations, as well, are as funny and cute as the story itself.
Even a kid who isn't sure about reading will like this one.

MOVE OVER BUFFY, THERE'S A BETTER VAMPIRE ADVENTURE FOR KIDS
Bunnicula is charming, suspenseful, funny, and just a great read. It is every bit as enjoyable at 22 as it was at 10.

This short kids book tells the story of a family who adopts a bunny at a vampire movie from the point of view of the family dog. What makes this story so wonderful is the voice that the novel is written it. Harold the dog is world-weary and laid back, while Chester the cat is paranoid and well-read.

This charming book can even still raise a couple hairs on the back of your neck. Great fun!

*SIGH* She gets me every time!
The amazing Quinn family is back!

Seth, the youngest Quinn, is home for the first time in years. An acclaimed painter, who is blessed with a gift he can't quite explain, Seth is as handsome and dynamic as the other Quinns. He comes home to find things in St. Chris much the same, with the exception of lovely Dru Whitcomb-Banks, a new shopkeeper in town. Dru is not what Seth expected and he soon finds himself drawn to her, despite his unsavory roots. She's carrying quite a bit of baggage herself, but finds that she's falling for him just the same.

Nora Roberts had already built a compelling family that intrigued readers through the first of the Chesapeake Bay saga, Sea Swept, Rising Tides and Inner Harbor. But in response to overwhelming reader demands (she dedicates the book to "Every reader who ever asked, "When are you going to write Seth's story?") she writes Seth to be as dreamy and decidedly alpha as the other Quinn men. Dru is a perfect match for Seth, strong willed and determined and also a bit of a lost soul. The combined traits make the couple vibrant and interesting. On top of that, you get to revisit your favorite characters from the first three books and find out what's become of them and their children. Nora's greatest gift is her ability to write a family that keeps the reader's attention.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to both first time, or habitual Noraholics! If this is your first Nora book, I suggest that you read the first three in the saga before reading Chesapeake Blue. You'll find your enjoyment of the story even greater having met the secondary characters before.

Nora's done it again!

The Perfect Ending!
I absolutely loved the brothers trilogy, it was truly my favorite of all Nora Roberts trilogys. Of course I do love them all! This book was telling the story of Seth as he now is grown up. I felt like I knew the entire family and cared about each and every one of them.

Seth is home with his family, the business, and the mother who has followed him over the years since he was a young boy. Blackmailing him, doing her best to ruin everything for him and for the family that gave him everything and made him who he is. Although he's all grown up now, he'll still pay her off, do just about anything to protect the family he loves.

Dru enters the picture, who has fled a cheating fiance and the life of the wealthy in Washington D.C. to strike out on her own in St. Chris. She owns a flower shop and does her best to fit into the community. Given her experience with men, she doesn't want to fall in love, doesn't even want to date. But Seth can be as convincing as any of the Quinn men and Dru finds herself in love with Seth.

I think Nora Roberts did an excellent job with this ending story. Her plot was great, the ending was a surprise and all the characters we loved in this trilogy have returned. If you start with this book you may want to read the first three to start.

A Return to the Shore
Nora Roberts has returned to the Quinn family from the Chesapeake Bay trilogy, fast forwarding to the adulthood of the last "lost boy" Seth. Since the Quinns have long been friends of mine, the release of this book was much anticipated. It did not disappoint! It was delightful to see glimpses of characters developed previously in the series, and an interesting twist that they are now twenty years older.

Though I'm sure Chesapeake Blue stands alone as an entertaining novel, I'm also sure it adds to this story if the Chesapeake Bay trilogy has been read.

In typical Roberts style, there is strong character development, intriguing interaction, and clever dialogue. Seth was quite a character at eleven, and he's even more so in his late twenties. The storyline itself is not as intricate as some of her other work, but that also is part of the charm -- the simplicity of returning to a quiet place, to the roots of family... the symbolism of returning home.

A good book about animals who stay at a strange hotel
Howlday Inn , a book by James Howe, is all about a dog named Harold and a cat named Chester. They could hardly believe it! The Monroes were going on vacation with out them! The familys rabbit would be staying with a nieghboor. But the family's dog and cat, wre to stay with strangers at the Chateau Bow-Wow. No sooner had Harold and Chester settled into thier bungloos, thier cages, than Louise, a French poodle involved in a messy love triangle dissapered.Chester believed the six other guest were capable of anything even murder. Ther was a pair of Dachshounds who howled at the moon and were rumored to be half werewolf,Lyle,A crazy catwho was convincedhe was a secret agent. There was also Max,Louises husband,Gorgette,a flirt and taxi max's best friend. All Herold and Chester knew was that inspite of themselves they had entered the crime detection buisness ansd neither foul play nor foul weather would stip them from finding out who did it. This book was a very thrilling book. Throught the whole book i was suspicious about all of the characters. I felt as if I was really there with all of the animals, and there problems. The story had a wonderful dialouge and irristisable characters.I recommend this book to many people of all ages.

A Wonderful Book Read With a Wonderful Voice
Howliday Inn is written for children but is enjoyable for any age group with its humor and clever plotline. The main characters, a dog and a cat named Harold and Chester respectively, are a lot of fun to relate to and sympathize with, and a colorful group of minor characters complements them perfectly. The mystery is suspenseful and it is fun to try to guess the outcome. Hearing Victor Garber, a very talented actor with an amazing voice, reading makes the book an even better experience. He has a voice for each character, and they are not overdone, they are subtle and exactly right. Overall it is a fun and relaxing way to spend time. I highly recommend it.

Howliday Inn 1st in Mystery
In Howliday Inn you are scared because animals vanish. Some people say there is death. You are in suspence in the 3rd chapter. You need to find out what happens read it because it is so good.

The Secret Garden
I read The Secret Garden when I was in the fifth grade. The book was a combination of realistic fiction and mystery. I was always looking for clues to explain the next chapter .I was so engrossed in the book that I read 30 pages every half an hour!
The whole plot of The Secret Garden was about a girl named Mary Lennox, an orphaned, disagreeable looking, girl, who needed some action in her life. And she reached her goal. She was ten when she moved to her Uncle's house on a moor in Yorkshire. One of the housemaids, Martha, showed her around, and told Mary stories about her family that Mary enjoyed. On of Martha's brothers, Dickon, was an animal charmer and a nice, perfect boy who Mary fancyed that Mary finally met. He helped her uncover and bring to life a huge secret. This secret can not be shared with you, you'll have to find out yourself.Mean while, when Mary was sleeping at night, a childs cry woke her up. On day she investigated the noise. She found another secret on her way, a secret corrider. Will Mary find out who is screaming? If so, what should she do about it? Will Dickon and Mary succeed in bringing the secret alive?
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading exciting adventures. My opinion on The Secret Garden is that out of five stars I would give it 5 stars, because it was so fun to read, and I didn't want to stop! And those are the results of the good book The Secret Garden!

A fascinating story for all ages.
Once upon a time, a little girl found a book on a library shelf with an interesting title. She took it home and discovered a world where gardens are locked, a boy can talk to animals, and mysteries abound in every corner of Misselthwaite Manor. And friendship is forever. Okay, you guessed it. The little girl was me. The story of Mary quite Contrary, a little girl with no one to love and no one who loved her, Colin the invalid who has spent his entire life inside the manor, and Dickon the simple boy from the moors well deserves the title "classic". There is simply no other story like it. Frances Hodgson Burnett has written a wonderful story about love and friendship between three very different children, and the secret garden that brings them together.

Discovery the mystery of the secret garden.
When Mary Lennox came to live at Misselthwaite Manor she was said to be "the most disagreeable child ever seen." It was true however but that was all going to change.
Mary made friends with the gardener Ben Weatherstaff's robin. But this was no ordinary robin. The robin showed Mary where the key to a mysterious garden was hidden. He also showed her where the door to the secret garden was hidden under the ivy. She was the first person to explore the garden in ten years!
Soon there were others that were in on her secret. Dickon, the adventurous Yorkshire boy, was the first to share the secret. Dickon showed Mary how to care for the garden. Then Mary heard a mysterious crying noise in the night. It turned out to belong to her frail cousin Colin. Soon he was in on the secret too.
Colin decided it would be exciting to go into the secret garden with his friends. That's when the magic begins. If you like secrets and magic, this book by Frances Hodgson Burnett is the book for you.

You *have* to like this book
Oh come on. It's BUNNICULA! I don't care what anyone else says - these books are great, including this one. Know what? Even though it's been a long time since I was a kid, I still love these books, including this one. As a matter of fact, I think anyone who loves vampires and vampire fiction should read this book and the others - because these are all good, quick, and alltogether very FUN reads that you don't have to take seriously. And sometimes, a good quick fun read just hits the spot.

And it has to be said - Bunnicula is the most loveable vampire ever. Lestat and Dracula WISH they were this cuddly!

i luv bunnicula
i have nearly read all the bunnicula books (except the 'the house of bunnicula' ones. I liked this one because it had a happy ending. i like bunnicula books because they are those kind of books that you can't put down. you wonder what would happen next. i can not wait until more books come!!!

Joe (Class SS)
This book was about Chester trying to destroy Bunnicula, a rabbit. The dogs in the story are Howie and Howard. Chester thinks Bunnicula is a vampire because of his fangs, and because he extracts juice out of vegetables. Chester drinks Bunnicula's carrot juice to starve Bunnicula. Howie and Howard go to find Bunnicula. Bunnicula is gone without a trace. Howard spots a newspaper that says Dracula is playing at the movie theatre. This is the same theatre where Bunnicula was found by The Monroe family. Little did Bunnicula know, the newspaper was a few days old. Today the movie theatre is getting torn down. Howard and Howie try to find Bunnicula, but they find Chester. Chester saves Bunnicula from the demolition. Still Chester thinks Bunnicula is a vampire. The End

Actually GAve Me Nightmare!!LOL
Anyway!!,this novel is written by Howard the dog.(no really)and he tells of his scary adventure in the woods, with 2 strange fellas and their ugly dog with an attitude problem.
Cons..The story one of the dogs was telling was boring and took up too much space.

Not as good as the other BUNNICULA books
This one was just alright. It's the second sequel to the classic original BUNNICULA. It's not really bad but it's boring in part; like I found the whole first chapter to be a bore.

It does get sort of scary in parts, but nothing major. Read it if you want. It's fun. But, for really good BUNNICULA bookds, I recommend: BUNNICULA, THE CELERY STALKS AT MIDNIGHT, HOWLIDAY INN, RETURN TO HOWLIDAY INN, CREEPY CRAWLY BIRTHDAY, THE FRIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HOT FUDGE, RABBIT-KADABRA, and BUNNICULA STRIKES AGAIN.

It was a very good book it was interesting.
It was a very good book to read.I liked the book, eventhough i didn't finish the story. The story was about two dogs and one cat the cats name was Chester. The dogs name was Howie and Harold

Change the book's name
There is a lot of good stuff - for Oracle, Ms-Office integration and automation and some detail on ADO - But mainly the book is an overview. It covers all of the features of Access with low detail. I use it as a quick reference to a concept, but use other Access books for more detail and examples. At the time I bought it, it was the only source of ADO material. If you are looking for a detailed programming book or application development book - look elsewhere.

For whom is this book
This book might be of interest for the people using MS Access with Oracle. Otherwise I could not understand for whom is this book written for - a Beginner, Intermediate, an Advanced user, or even for none?

Great info on Access Automation
I am a small business owner who just installed an order entry system written in Access 2000. I wanted to interface with Microsoft Outlook and was having trouble figuring out how. I went looking specifically for a book that addressed Automation with other Microsoft Office products and this book is the best one I found. I own the Access 97 version of this book which I had not found very helpful. This book has a terrific new chapter devoted to integration with Office 2000. I also found the chapter on application optimization very useful.
