A 'must have' for any Who fan
The book is simply marvelous. Packed with information and some never before seen footage, the book is a valuable source, reflecting on a decade that witnessed the show's birth. Just as important as 'The Seventies' and 'The Eighties.'

Big book - Great value
I saw this in a bookstore and scooped it up without checking online prices. Its a huge book for the small price. I'm no historian, but this book seems very comprehensive. Awesome color photos, floorplans, sketches, etc. History, details of construction technics. Pretty much every photo has a description with location, date, and many times the architect. Beautiful examples of houses from each period... something for everyone. Tons of info.

Learn Writing from a Dog....Fun way to teach kids
After taking many writing classes on "how to teach kids to write"...I stumbled across James Howe's new series, "Tales From the House of Bunnicula"...and I began to learn how to teach writing, from a dog. The whole time I was reading the book, lesson plans popped into my head... "I could use this to teach simile...or that would make a great lesson on 'cliffhangers', or when and how to use adjectives...and this part would show what 'literary license' means..... the book is full of laugh-out-loud humor. I can't wait to share these tales with my fourth grade students. Jame Howe's books are not only fun to read, but you soon realize that you can learn a lot from a dog...and from great authors. This is a Howling Success, I know I'll be using them in my classroom.

Wonderful seasonal book!
We just bought this for our 2 year-old, and she absolutely loves it. The pictures are bold and colorful, reminiscent of Eric Carle-type pictures. This book tells the story of how pumpkins are grown, and how they eventually become Jack-o-lanterns. It is a wonderful book, especially for the price.

Brilliant
This series has been too overlooked. I just love these. One night in Kansas, Dorothy meets Ezra P. Tinker the inventor of Tik-tok the machine man and claims the thousand year guarentee has just run down. With the help of Mister Tinker's speckoscope and Julius Quickscissors they get to Oz with the Widdlebits and Princess Astoria. This story has everything it needs to be perfect.

On the Cannonical book of Gunsmithing
Having read this book thoroughly, I recommend it heartily. Many modern gunsmithing books focus on off-the-shelf parts and aftermarket accesories. Not so Howe's book. From selection of which action to build a rifle around, to diagrams for Double-set triggers, to full instructions on the making of barrells, it is the best modern book available. It was re-printed in 1980, but is now out of print. Combine this book with Ned Roberts' excellent book "The Muzzle-Loading Cap Lock Rifle", and the amateur gunsmith has all the information he requires to equip himself with excellent hunting or target weapons.

"Pinky peed!"
I can't believe I'm the first customer to review this Pinky and Rex book. My boys think this is the funniest book of the year: Pinky actually pees his pants in school! There's a puddle and everything. Funny realistic dialogue. If your kids think pee-pee is funny (and don't all kids?), they'll LOVE this book.

Great book for an early reader!
My 5 year old daughter recently read this book to me. She loved hearing the story of Teddy's adventures, and this book has inspired us to start a scrapbook of her adventures with her special toy animal friend. The last chapter is wonderful as it describes the bond of friendship between the bear and the little girl who loved him.
