I have never actually seen this book but I know off hand that it contains Twenty or so Howard poems and the Hardcover of this book was printed in a limited run of about fifty books. I need this book really extremely bad and I'll do anything to own it. Illustrated by a Charles Williams. The paperback print is also limited to three hundred and sixty copies. I'll take either one but I really want the hardback. The book was published by Gibbelins Gazette Press back in 1982 but I think that it went out of business. Thanks

Gilly: A Humble Crusader is the intrinsically interesting biography of Gilbert Roberts, an ordinary man who set out to accomplish a happy life for himself and his family. Just as Gilbert reached his fifties (in 1955), he happened to visit a Navajo Indian reservation and witness terrible starvation. Gilbert Roberts then spent the rest of his life striving to help these Native Americans. Co-authored by Gilbert Roberts' son Howard Roberts, Gilly: A Humble Crusader is an especially recommended and poignantly thoughtful look at life, the bonds of family, of love, of social obligation, and personal dedication.

The History Channel has put together an interesting American History trivia quiz that consists of 101 questions with subsequent answers on the next page. This reviewer played a game against her husband as we tried to see who could answer the most over a week's time. The book is fun and enlightening, especially for trivia buffs.

This text provides valuble information pertaining to half-lives in different media such as soil, air, and groundwater, aqueous biodegradation, photolysis, photooxidation, reduction and hydrolysis. I have used this information in the past on many occasions when discussing degradation of contaminants. I've foudn this to be a very useful book and am aware of numerous other consultant who have utilized this material.

I picked up this book years ago and it is without doubt one of my perennial favorites. The linguistic stylings of Howard are dead on in his depiction of the larger than life Hero Breckinridge Elkins Hero of Bear Creek. The mayhem and violence with which the book is inundated is portrayed in such a fall down and laugh till your sides ache manner that I am left saddened that the supply of works like this is terribly finite, knowing that Howard died at such a tragically young age. Breck Elkins is as an immortal a character as Conan, just as big and dangerous and volcanic but in his case hilarious and not dark and brooding. If you can find this book, buy it at any price, I personally guarantee that no money can replace the laughs and tall tales in this book!

What an articulate, inclusive, and ground-breaking source is I Remember When! I gained insight into the benefits of effective communication skills and learned more about aging and story-sharing. I was also made aware of the the health benefits of reminiscing. Thorsheim and Roberts have produced an invaluable resource and activity guide for psychologists, reminiscence volunteers, and anyone else who is interested in increasing their self and other-awareness through reminiscence. It has my stamp of approval!

This book is well suited to data mining practitioners who develop/and or tweak their own algorithms and are looking to enhance their expertise in this area.

Unlike many books of this genre, Managing Windows NT server 4.0 is a well thought out analysis of each component of Windows NT server and how they interrelate. Rather than skim the surface, this book plunges head-first into the depths of the operating system to increase the reader's understanding of Microsoft's flagship product.

Examples of this include the chapter on Disk Administrator, which stands out as a sterling example of technical reference. Clear, concise and revealing, it is a pleasure to read.

The command-line technical reference is also stunning in its depth, and often reveals more items than digging through the manuals.

In all, an excellent volume.

Good basic information explained very clearly with well chosen examples. I think this book would make for an interesting audio tape.

Illinois Issues, devoted to Illinois politics, has published its second edition of this collection of sketches of Illinois governors. A colorful and sometimes idealistic lot.
