Average.....
Maggie Keene's mother is working desperately trying to restore the town's old, historical courthouse. The town has a new one built, but Sheila Keene is a member of the Women of Heritage Club, which specializes in cultural matters. Maggie and her friends would rather have the place torn down for a new rec center, and apparently someone else does, too. A little too much! When the accidents start happening, everyone believes that they're just coincidental. But soon, they become more gruesome and more deadly. Someone would kill to have the place torn down, and they just might get their wish!.....

I thought that "Blindfold" was nothing special. In my opinion, it's very hard to get into, and the suspenseful events were few and far between. It talks about the courthouse for a considerable amount of the story, and doesn't get enticing until the last few chapters. If you're on a mission to read all of Diane Hoh's books, like me, then it would be okay to read it. But, if you're looking for a thriller to pass the time, don't expect the time to pass very fast with this one.....

Wonderful!
I love Diane Hoh's books! They're all suspensful and a big surprise at the end. I've never once been able to guess who did it. This book is one of my favorites. It involves two different cases that are connected. And the chapters altrenate, from what happens in present time to a killer's point of view of something that happened four years earlier. You'll never guess who did it til the end.

A really great thriller/mystery
This book was fabulous, having recently finished it, I cant stop thinking about it. The ending ties it all together, and suddenly the whole thing makes sense. I love the authors style of writing, having a dispersed few chapters written in the first person form by the killer him(or her)self. It was a great book, highly recommended!

very intersting... has a unique story line
I have been drawn to Nightmare Halls since I first picked up KIDNAPPED. They are pratically adictive, and Ms. Hoh is very creative with her plots. GUITLY was good, but didn't have the usually want-to-turn-more-pages affect on me. Defintely not one of her best.

Very good! Exellent!
I really liked this book because it was real. The killer's motives were very odd and very cool. I think this book was awsome!

THIS STORY IS THE BEST!!!!
After reading most of the Nightmare Hall books, this one has always been my favorite. It has a great plot and I was very surprised by the ending. 2 thumbs up! Good reads!

Careful what you wish for
Terrifying. Unpredictable. When Maxie joins a sorority house, she feels thrilled to live with her new sisters. They are as close as sisters should be and life is wonderful---until weird and awful things start happening at the house. Something is definitely wrong and there are many suspects. But who can you trust if not your sisters

Diane is the best author!
This is one book you shouldn't pass up. It keeps you guessing and it's so hard to know who did all the things at the exclusive sorority. Is it Maxie's friend, but non sister? Is it the sorority president? Or is it one of the girls that didn't make it in? I can bet you'll never guess who did it. In fact, all of Diane Hoh's horror books(the Nightmare Hall series) have incredible twists and even though I've read many books, out of the thirteen I've read of Nightmare Hall, I've guessed correct in zero. It's so hard to guess, and the endings are suspensful and a surprise.

Hoh makes R.L. Stine look like an amatuer
Diane Hoh knows how to scare you! That is defintely for sure. She knows what makes your spine tingle. Her novels are suspenseful because they seem so realistic. This stuff could happen. R.L. Stine is just a popular tripe writer who pumps so many novels out a week that he repeats himself in every book. Death of the Prom Queen, The Homecoming Queen Murders... whatever. Sound anything alike?

Diane Hoh knows how to do it and right. R.L. Stine needs to move over. The Nightmare Hall series needs to come back on shelfs.

Letter to the author
Dear Diane Hoh, The book that you wrote, The Prom Date, Was a very good book. It left me on the edge of my seat. Especially at the end when Liza walked into the prom. I thought she was looking to kill someone, but all she wanted was a dance with Mitch. The way you wrote this book was amazing; because of how the reader can never stop turning the page. No matter what page the reader is on, there are always exciting things coming up. The most exciting part of the book was when Stephanie was hanging off of the lighthouse and the killer would not help her, but nudged her hands so that she would fall to the sharp rocks below. The way that you wrote that part was amazing because it all didn't happen at one time but in a period of time. I loved how you described the settings like at the school, the prom, at the Quartet, and at the lighthouse, because it all worked together to form the understanding of who the killer was. Most of all that showed who the killer was, was when the dresses were found out side of the Quartet, and at the lighthouse. I understand that the plot was to figure out who the killer was by reading the book. But some parts of the book were confusing because of how it was set up to appear to the reader, as a certain person was the killer but at some parts it didn't point to one person but almost all of the characters in the book. But at the end it all went down to one person. In conclusion I don't really recommend this book to younger than 8th grade readers because it's really sometimes hard to understand and it also has a lot of killing and horror in it. If I were to rate this book I would give it 4 stars because it's not the best book that I have read but it is a good book for everyone to read. Even adults could read this book them too would like it a lot. I hope my review was helpful to you and I plan on reading a lot more of you books.

MUST READ!!!
Danielle 13-Prom Date is the best book I have ever read! It's about a person who is killing and/or hurting people just for a date to the prom! It's a page turner! My personal favorite character is Mitch. He was brave and did everything in his power to protect his girlfriend from death. My favorite part of the book was when I found out who the killer was. I was shocked! If you like murder mysterys and page turning adventures, I recomend this book.

Great book, if you liked to be freaked out
This book really makes you think of the after life, where will you go if you dye and its not your itme? This book is all about a girl named megan who has someone talking ot her from her mirror, the thing talking from the mirror wants to trade places with megan, for just "a little while" all while megan thinks about this decision, horrible drawings are in her locker, and aweful things are happing to her best friends and family.

Was it an Accident?
Megan sees an image in her mirror that isn't of her...it's the ghost of a girl who lived nearby and died many years before, and she wants to have a chance to live again. It seems that Megan is the only one who can help her.She manages to persuade Megan to change places with her for just a week.Megan feels sorry for her,and agrees.but when "accidents" start to happen to members of her family, she realises she has made a mistake. But it's only for a week, right? This book is great,it's creepy, and you really don't know what will happen next.I loved it!

The Accident Review...
The book for the quarter was "The Accident" by Diane Hoh. The book falls into the category of mystery fictional. Diane Hoh does a good job of planning out the plot and making it so interesting that even a person that doesn't like to read stays interested in the book. The thought of how Megan, the main character, actually trades places with a girl from her mirror that was a ghost. Megan, in the book, is described as an ordinary girl, who has a boyfriend and isn't really part of one specific crowd. Diane gets the reader thinking if there really could be a haunting ghost in every mirror that is just waiting to trade places with a person that is alive. If Megan was a real person then she would be very brave and courageous. The plot for the book was very interesting but at times Diane Hoh should have made the two Megans physically fight or confront each other a lot more. More should have been told about the Megan that was dead and wanting to trade places with the Megan that was alive. If a great mystery book is wanting to be read with a little bit of romance and of course fiction then this book is definately recommened. Thanks!

Good Book
It was very good book but hard to get into until they go to the party but after that it really takes off whan all the people start disepering off the cameras I give the book an A+(Hi Mom,Im on somebody's screen)

Interesting, Imaginative, Incredible!.....
Sarah is stunned when she receives an invitation to the biggest party of the year. The hostess -- Cass Rockham -- doesn't even know Sarah! She's not part of the "in" crowd, nor very popular. So why is she and four of her friends invited? Something doesn't seem right to Sarah, but, because of her friends' anxiousness, decides to attend. The party gets off to a weird start when they play a game of musical chairs. One by one, each of Sarah's friends conveniently lose and are whisked off for a "consolation prize." But, why aren't they returning? Soon, Sarah's the only one left, and, she too, is separated from the party. Her question is answered when she is locked in a secret room, all by herself. Cass has decided to play a game of "people hunting," a variation of "treasure hunting," starring the five "losers" of the party. But, someone out there is playing a game of their own. Kidnapping and torturing each and everyone of Sarah's friends. Who is it? Why? How can they be stopped?.....

I thought that "The Invitation" was a very unique book. The storyline was very imaginative, and not your everyday thriller. The way the pieces to the puzzle fit together made perfect sense, and went smoothly. However, it did seem a little rushed! Still, "The Invitation" is a top-notch thriller that is not to be missed! Enjoy!

I liked this pretty well
I really think that this book was the best of the Nightmare Hall series that I have read. Though I read it quite a while ago now, I still remember that I was quite intrigued. Who is the mad biker? One thing is for sure: it's not who it seems.

A college student named Echo gets caut up in a web of murder
I liked this book. It had a good plot,It could have ended a little differently. But it was mostly really good.It was really suspensful!

A detective story for thrill-seekers.
The beginning of the story is a little slow, but the pace speeds up really quickly! As usual, Diane Hoh has written a story full of mystery and suspense. Throw that in with deceptions and romance and you've got a lethal combination. Echo is an outsider with a nose for trouble. When she becomes fascinated with the "Mad Biker", Echo is in for more trouble than she can handle! Soon, she is blackmailed and the police won't do anything! Echo's only hope is to find enough evidence to convict the biker before it's too late...Will she succeed or become the next victim? This story will take you on the ride of your life! Hold on tight..

Definatly Not My Last Nightmare Hall Book
Demi never has trouble getting boyfriends, the only problem is the second date, as her dates all have nasty "accidents". Is there an old jealous boyfriend who wants her all to himself, or else maybe someone else is jealous of Demi getting all the boys. This is a brilliant tale of jealousy, murder and suspence

Suspenseful and exciting
Like always, Diane Hoh writes an exciting horror/thriller novel for young adults. When Demi places a personals ad for romance, her dates start to suffer. Is this a simple coincidence or is Demi a killer (like the police suspect)? My advice: expect the unexpected

"Killer Date"
Demi putt's an ad in the salem university school paper that is titled Killer Date but she just don't know how true that is as more and more of her date's have mysterios accidents her friend's try's to convice her to putt an end to the dating before another victim get's hurt this story would have you on the end of your seat as you try to solve the mystery

I thought this book was ok.
I thought this was a seven. It was a seven because it took too long to get to the point. It really got on my nerves how they made it seem like Carol was the bad one and that she was "making" them play Truth or Dare. But, it was a good story and had a good plot.

I Dare You .....
Parrie has just moved to Salem U and has no friends, until she goes to a welcoming party and meets new friends : Jean, Carol, Mallory, Lil and Grace. What starts out as a harmless, fun game of truth or dare becomes a dangerous game in which the dare could kill you, but the truth could be murder

A battle of courage and nerves
This book is a winner. Follow-the-crowd Parrie is willing to die (literally) to make friends at Salem U. All she wants to do is fit in--even if it means playing a strange game of Truth or Dare (Die?) Suddenly evil things start to happen. Are they done accidentally or purposefully? Parrie finds herself caught between her common sense to quit and her desire to keep her newfound "friends". But what will it take to end the game? Sure to satisfy the reader's need for terror and excitement. I DARE you to read this and not enjoy it
