I LOVE the Spot Books!
I am a first grader in Lockport, NY. My name is Katherine. I have read all of the Spot lift-the-flap books. My favorite book is Spot's First Easter. I liked when Spot found the most Easter eggs. I liked when he gave one to his Mom. I hope Eric Hill writes 500 more Spot lift-the-flap books!

I love it!
It's a really good book...both sides are good to read....I like Alex's side more but Gaby's side is weird ...it all works together because they each have maps and there are "different" things on each map.....it;s cool....they go on a camping trip and all this strange stuff happens not your typical lame story...very very interesting and well written!

It was a terrific book!
This book is cool! See, it's a two sided book. I think it's best to start out reading the Alex part first, then read the Gaby part. It works out better that way. I think you need to read it because it makes a person feel wierd. I espescially like the part where their in the old house. Ohh, if you want to know more about it, read the book!

A Must for Collie Owners
The book is thoroughly enjoyable from any collie owner's point of view, as it depicts a collie in the land of its ancestry doing its original work in modern times. Collies are a heritage breed with a proud working background that we should not forget.

Be prepared because Gael is a small English working type of collie, not a show collie to which we are accustomed in North America. At first glance I thought she was a sheltie, but in the introduction of the book Halsell refers to what he considers the fine points of a collie (p.11). You would think he means border collie from the written word, but Gael is a sweet looking, little sable and white collie, with great adventures!

I loved learning about the nature of the British countryside, with the illustrations and photos complementing the stories about Gael. As a sheep farmer, I appreciated Halsell's knowledge on this topic as well.

Excellent for Teaching Novices
I used this book to teach a couple of claases to Internet novices. The text is clear and straightforward. The examples are fully illustrated with screen shots. The exercises are complete and accurate. I appreciate the extra material on MS Windows. Although this material is not actually Internet functionality, these features are poorly understood by the beginner and and must be covered nevertheless. I hope the authors update this book.

Spot Counts from 1 to 10
In general, I like buying the "Spot" books because my daughter loves dogs. She enjoyed this particular book, especially since she recognized most of the animals illustrated (cows, horses, ducks) with Spot. The size of this book is perfect for little hands to handle, so she tends to pick it up more often than some of her other books.

A fun book!
I bought this book when my son was 6 months old. From the first reading, it's been one of his favorites. We started just pointing and naming objects: flowers, ball, house, etc. More than a year later, we're still reading it, but now we're counting the flowers, describing the ball's shape or the house's color, etc. It's proved to be versatile. The simple, yet pleasing, pictures of Spot splashing in the garden, in rain puddles, at the beach and in the bathtub are perfect for babies and toddlers. One caution: once my son learned to splash in the tub, we had to start explaining that we don't splash water all over the bathroom! I'd definitely buy it again.

A great active book for babies.
My nine month old picks this book out of the basket himself and asks to have it read. It is filled with action and excitement (a band, fire engine, parade and jugglers) so it is a great book to read with the enthusiasm that young babies enjoy.
