Not what you think
This is not the James Baker Hall of "Music for a Broken Piano" and "Yates Paul". There are 2 Jim Hall's who are authors...this is the other. I have not read this collection

CRUD for initiated
I was surprised to find no image of the cover of this book and no customer reviews. At the second thought, it makes sense. This book is for IT practitioners with solid theoreteical background in Computer Science. The book is not complex, but requires patience. It is about all the object-oriented theory behind the most fundamental behaviour of object instances - Create - Read - Update - Delete. All explained in terms of theory of sets using logical predicates, which is part of formal logics.

Anyway, once I bought and read this book in 1998 - 5 years ago - I was hooked on object orientation. Microsoft's ADO, J2EE's EJB's and JDO instantly and naturally made sense to me once they surfaced in IT practice as newly emerged technologies.

I have impressed and opened the eyes of many people of intelligence with my super deep understanding of these issues yet numerous hight tech red necks vere left unmoved.

If you want to feel CRUD and brearth CRUD in Obj-Orient. terms, plus to have really deep knowledge of Object-toRelational mapping, buy it and read it. Plus, buy Kilov's 'Business Specifications' book.

It Shouldn't happen to a vet
It was the first James Herriot book I read, and I think the best. It was funny at times and serious at others. It introduced me to a English Countryside vet's life. Sqeamish people might want to skip over parts. (He is a vet!) But over all, I really think this book is a wonderful must read.

Wonderful seasonal book!
We just bought this for our 2 year-old, and she absolutely loves it. The pictures are bold and colorful, reminiscent of Eric Carle-type pictures. This book tells the story of how pumpkins are grown, and how they eventually become Jack-o-lanterns. It is a wonderful book, especially for the price.

Very helpful
This book explains the very basics of Junguian analysis - and of psychoanalysis in general, for that matter, in a very clear and organized way. I do reccomend it for all those who want to learn something about the subject and also to those who are considering going into analysis, because it contains an outline of the whole process and includes considerations about the frequency, duration and cost of sessions as well. The book did help me very much and I found it both concise and precise.I find it a classic, a must read, along with Karen Horney's books. And I keep going back to it every time I want to reflect about individuation and personal growth.

Millennium Workbook: Things for You 2 Know and Do

Great advice for individuals on Y2K
This is a great book for individuals and families about how to prepare for possibile Y2K problems. It points out many potential problems beyond simply whether or not my PC will know what year it is that I hadn't considered. (What if the water or electricity company isn't quite ready?) I highly recommend this for anyone wondering what they should be taking into consideration as 2000 approaches.

Ralph Eugene Meatyard is an American original, a true poet
Ralph Meatyard is surely not one of the great names of photographic history, but he does deserve a place as far as originality is concerned. He is truly an American original, a poet, a visionary artist of the highest caliber. Using family and friends, Meatyard created a gothic world worthy of Poe and Faulkner. A modest man, rasing a family and working as an optometrist, Meatyard managed to create a world straddling dream and reality. He wasn't afraid to experiment and, using a minimum amount of equipment, but a maximum amount of creativity and experimentation, he snapped a record of both beauty and weirdness. It's surprising that he lived on the border of North and South, in that his work seems so southern in feeling. One has only to create a book of photos by Meatyard, coupled with the poetry of the Arkansas poet Frank Stanford, to create a true work of gothic beauty. All one can say is that he's a true original who deserves to be appreciated. James Hoffman

Like A John Wayne Movie
This is the funniest western I've ever read! My favorite along with Lonesome Dove. I love his country sayings. I laughed out loud and was sorry that the book ended. Didn't know this book existed until I stumbled onto it in a library. A Lewis book is like a John Wayne movie, based on history, spurred with suspense and spiced with humor. The perfect formula for any book. I'd love to have the Lomax set! Why are they out of print???

Wow! What An Entertaining Book . . .
It's impossible to describe this book completely since so much of what it contains is hands-on interactive material, but I promise the book is WONDERFUL. Every page overflows with movable examples of music memorbilia (everything from a CD player to collectible guitars), pop-ups, miniture books, and more.

The CD is outstanding and the text is equally impressive. It's incredible how much went into the production of this book. It covers every era -- a delight to own. My teenagers and their friends can't put this book down, but adults love it equally as much. My husband is a musician (a rather pompous one, but don't tell him I said that!), and even HE loves this book. If you're into collecting Rock and Roll memorbilia, or if you're looking for a great gift for a rock fan, this is a surefire hit. Written by the Curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and longtime Music Editor of Rolling Stone. Fun!
