Dean gets taken by a Russian Sec boss Slaver
While Ryan and the gang are elsewhere, Dean is grabbed by A Russian Slaver from Jak's farm to work at a sulfur mining colony. .....needless to say Ryan takes this a bit personally and embarks on a bloody mission to get back his son. Definately worth the wait it took to find a copy. PLEASE REPRINT MORE OF AXLER'S EARLIER BOOKS.

Just when you think you have your Son....
He gets taken by a pack of Russian slavers to work in a salt mine. I will always remember this work because I read it during a tornado(don't ask me why). Very enjoyable and defienatly of the top 5 deathlands books.

Ryan's a daddy!!!!
One of the best of the serise. After the events of "Time Nomads" where we (eventually) got to hear about the origins of Dean Ryan sets off to find his own son. There is always a catch in the deathlands however, Dean has been captured and is being used as slave labor in a New York salt mine.

Overall-Not the best but we do meet Dean.

THE RISE OF RYAN CAWDOR'S SON!
I read this novel like all the rest in the series about 2 or 3 times - it is an awesome read for action/adventure fans. This is a good stand alone read but you will get hooked in like millions of others to this great saga of survival in an altered world known as - The DEATHLANDS!

RYAN AND CO. IN THE BIG APPLE
ANOTHER CLASSIC IN THE SERIES I OBTAINED THROUGH AMAZON.COM TO FILL THE GAPS IN MY COLLECTION. THE GROUP END UP IN NEW YORK MINUS JAK LAUREN WHO STAYS BEHIND IN NEW MEXICO. THEY ENCOUNTER YOUNG STREET GANGS THAT RULE THEIR TURF AS WELL AS SCALIES , A MUTANT BREED THAT USE HUMANS FOR SLAVE LABOR. ITS HERE IN N.Y. THAT RYAN DISCOVERS HE HAS A SON WHO IS NOW 10 AND A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK. THEY ALSO MEET HARRY STANTON- KING OF THE NEW YORK UNDERWORLD WHO KNEW RYAN AND DIX FROM THEIR TRADER DAYS. A GREAT STORY AND A MUST FOR ALL FANS OF THE SERIES. PARTICULARLY NASTY PART IS WHEN J.B. GETS BIT BY A BUG , I WON'T SPOIL IT , BUT IT'S NASTY! THUMBS UP!

Unanswered questions answered at last!
Way back in the beginning of the Deathlands series, the author gave us our first glimps into Zulu Redoubt. An inbred family tried very hard to kill Ryan and his band. Anyhow, there was a locked off section of the redoubt that we were never once allowed to see what was hidden. UNTIL NOW!

The secret that laid dormant for nearly two centuries was awakened by a magistrate and archivist. The end result was the death of a Baron which has never happened before in the history of the villes.

Kane, Grant, Brigid and Domi are sent to investigate the death, and the implications. They discover far more than they ever expected. Yet another mystery left over from the Archon Directive.

The name isn't misleading, but Doomstar isn't what you expect it to be.

And to the author.... I want to see Tara return!

Chris Van Deelen Owner of the Deathlands web survival Guide.

The best series
Doomstar Relic is a good example of why Outlanders is the best action/adventure series being published today. Axler gives us a bizarre menance in the form of a beautiful (and naked) woman, an even bigger menance which springs from a real scientific project and once again, a surprising depth of characterization.

Doomstar Relic also hints that things are not exactly what the reader has been led to believe over the last few books. And as always, there is intense action, violence and doses of humor.

This is the only men's adventure series I read and will continue to read consistently. Each book has been different from the others and the series stays fresh.

Riveting!! Hard to set down.
Axler has done it again, This new series is just as good or maybe better than the Deathlands series. An excellent read.

Bowling Knowledge Is the Key
Published in Paperback by Elite Bowling Corp (1986)
Authors: Fred Borden and Jay Elias
Amazon base price: $21.95
Used price: $20.00
Collectible price: $250.00
Average review score:

Useful to beginners as well as Advanced (200+) bowlers.
This book is a cut above most of the stuff on the market. It is very practical.

While short on pictures, it is long on drawings and diagrams that explain many bowling concepts in ways that are easy to understand.

This book is useful to the advanced bowler as well as the beginner. The lane condition chart at the back and the advice on playing different lane conditions is interesting and valuable.

Borden is somewhat dogmatic in telling one how to bowl, but his way does work and work well. He spent hours taping professionals and distilling their games down to the fundamental things you have to do to succeed. His other book, Secrets of the Big Money Pro's is even better. I give that one 5 stars.

Knowledge is the Key
Most bowlers know that this book is a "must-have." Fred Borden is a world-renowned bowling coach and this book provides the fundamentals and concepts important for the serious beginning and advanced bowler to develop his/her game. I am a 200+ average bowler and I often pull this book off the shelf for reference (especially when I'm in a slump!).

Cynicism as an Art Form
Headhunters on Parade is a collection of short stories not based on what you might assume are cannibalistic practices, but rather on "the army of human insects that scatter about cities of advanced western nations with signs on their back which say: JOBS, ANYBODY WANT JOBS." Or as Elias Sassoon blithely explains in his latest work, "people living in our cities who also go by the names of Recruiters, Executive Search People, and the like". This collection presents stories by characters on all sides of the job-hunting relationship. OUT OF SCHOOL NOW WHAT contain the ramblings of an Art History major who tries to find jobs for computer professionals. BRINGING THEM OVER explores the corporate and private world of a Personnel Director. But Mr. Sassoon directs his best efforts to those who are looking for a job. John Downhill is a recurring character in various yarns of this collection, and through his eyes we get to view the repetitive and desperate blight of one programmer as he tries everything from patience to perseverance to find that elusive job. In BAD DAY AT ROCK CITY, John goes from optimist, to cynical, to outright desperation, finally hanging up on one recruiter who asks him (among other things) has he "ever been convicted of a major felony" to would he "be willing to relocate". Finally, having taken ridicule of recruiters to a new art form, he gives into one novice recruiter's plea to give him a chance, because he is trying his hardest. And to John's amazement, this rookie finds him "one of the best jobs" he has ever had. If you have ever looked for a job via the newspaper or used a recruiter, if you have tried to desperately fill an open position within a company to please the latest directives from the Board of Directors, or if your career is to match candidates with positions, this is a book for you.

In the workplace, there are the hunted and the hunters...
These stories remind us that the route to getting a job can lead to a savage maketplace in which we are lucky to escape with our souls intact.

This book is very good. A little deep reading but, very good information on natural and self healing. I am a cliet of Jason's for accupuncture. I have severe allergies that I can actually say I have been cured of with accupuncture and chinese herbs. Jason is a truly blessed healer. His new book has wonderful promises and will be easier reading.

This is a wonderful Book!!!!

An engaging flirtation, cover to cover
I enjoyed this book very much. I thought it was fabulous. Ms. Rothman kept the suspense high and I loved the heroine, Lady Barbara Worth. I did not want this one to end and envy those who get to read it the first time.

Marcy Rothman is one of the best Romance authors
I was thoroughly delighted by this book and I have returned to it many times to reread. Marcy Rothman is one of the best Romance authors I have ever read. This novel is no exception. It moves from witty to sensual in the blink of an eye. Her writing style makes you feel as though you are right there in the studio with Lady Barbara and Captain Tarn Maitland. I did not put the book down even once.

Pursuit of the Grander

Not so much Pursuit of the Grander as writers travel diary
An entertaining book, although the title is a little misleading. This isn't about one persons dogged pursuit of a 1000lb Marlin but a diary of trips where the author is asked to captain or share the boats of the world's moneyed anglers. The narrative jumps a little and you can lose track as to when he is referring his accounts. The book was not proof read very well as the grammar leaves something to be desired at times and can make you go over a sentence a couple of times. These gripes aside, the book is an enjoyable read to anyone interested in the world of big game fishing and this type of book makes a refreshing change to the 'how to' manuals. Bring the price down a bit though!

Pursuit of the Grander
An insightful adventure, capturing the passion of the thrill of the hunt. A must read, for those that fish......

A fun read
I enjoyed the many adventures shared by the author. Reminds me of why I love the open ocean and all it has too offer. No, it's not a how too book for idiots but how many more of those do we need. If you're a true boater, definitely worth your while.

Strategic Management of Technological Learning

A useful textbook on the strategic decision making
Elias Carayannis's book is essential reading for anyone interested in the theory of the firm and how the different approaches can be integrated. His discussion of triple-loop learning is particularly helpful. The book provides a comprehensive guide to the theory of the subject, and is supported by insightful examples from a number of different firms in the automotive, aerospace, defense, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and electric power generation industries in the US and Europe.

Leveraging knowledge through technology
I read with the greatest interest the new book of Dr. Carayannis on the Strategic Management of Technological Learning. In the fast changing pace of the 21st century economy, this book is an essential reference for all practitioners who face the challenges of creating meaningful learning and knowledge sharing initiatives in modern dynamic businesses. Full of practical examples and tools from companies that are known for having a reputation for successfully leveraging knowledge through technology, this book helps you develop a strategic framework to gain a sustainable competitive advantage based on continuous learning -- a "must read" for those who intend to grow their firm's core competencies.

A Colleagues' Review of Dr. Carayannis' Book
Dr. Carayannis provides an in-depth exposition of the issues surrounding learning, strategic planning and organizational performance for technology-driven organizations. These issues are complex and not well understood in the literature. Nevertheless, Dr. Carayannis recommends that an alternative theory of the firm be developed to begin addressing the complexity of strategic planning in technology oriented firms. He provides the first step in this direction by juxtaposing various schools of decision-making, provides an overview of the various paradigms in decision-making, and details how culture, feedback, and learning facilitate decision-making. He then provides a plethora of empirical evidence from transport manufacturing, processing industries, and electric power generation facilities. At the end Dr. Carayannis integrates the theories with the empirical evidence into a very useful research framework. It is this framework that will allow future researchers to address a variety of hypotheses concerning the relationship among learning, strategic planning and organizational performance of technology-driven organizations. This provides an important contribution to the literature on the management of technological firms.
