One of the wittiest Asterix books ever
This book is yet another example of Goscinny's amazing ability to weave a modern satire, ancient history, hysterical characters and a humorous plot into the same book. In Obelix and Company, Obelix is persuaded by the Romans to expand his menhir business. The Romans manage to create a fad in Rome, through rather ridiculous advertising (not all to unfamiliar to us today) and the Gaulish village becomes rich as the money begins to flow. However, the start of a menhir business by everyone in town coupled with competition from Numidia and Egypt lead to the saturation of the Roman and the demise of the whole scheme. An excellent satire of capitalism and of the actions of the new-rich, as well as a higly entertaining book that can be enjoyed at all ages, I recommend Obelix and Company to all.

One of my favorite books in the Asterix series!
If you love reading about Asterix and Obelix, then you'll really want to own this one! In it, the two intrepid Gauls need to raise a cauldron full of money after a theft threatens the honor of their village. It's clear that these two lack any kind of business sense, and the druid's magic potion can only do so much in the area of fund-raising! This is a great addition to your Asterix collection!

Asterix in Greece
First published in French in 1968 as Astérix Aux Jeux Olympiques.
Asterix and all the men of the village travel to Greece to take part in the Olympics, as another opportunity to humiliate the Romans.
Asterix and all the men of the village travel to Greece to take part in the Olympics, as another opportunity to humiliate the Romans.
Once more the delightful characters get up to loads of fun, and we get to explore the wonders and delights of Ancient Greece, from the Parthenon to kebabs and Greek dancing.
The training for the games and the games themselves provide more fun.
As usual there is the delightful play on words and wit, involving all things Greek and Olympic.
Written in time for the 1968 Olympic Games, the issue of illegal substances is touched upon , in this case the famous Magic Potion!
A delightful and hilarious adventure!

Money for Menhirs!
After a resounding loss of his legionnaires at the hands of Obelix, Caesar, looks, yet again, for a plan to defeat the Gauls. His young consultant proposes that they be weakened with money. Caesar agrees to the plan and to keep the Gauls from attacking Romans, starts a trade between them. Money for menhirs! Obelix, then becomes the richest and consequently, the most powerful man in the village, which leads to jealousy and tension in the village. At the advice of Getafix, the others also start menhir business in competition with Obelix. Chaos reigns as one half is busy making menhirs and the other half is busy hunting boars for those who make menhirs! Gauls are successfully occupied with thoughts other than bashing Romans and Romans have a new problem, their rapidly thinning treasury and mountains of menhirs, they don't know what to do with!
Excellent fun & brilliant pun!

They visit a Romans' prisoner's homeland and try to reunite all the tribes for a fight against the Romans. But the tribes' pasts could get in the way. What are our heroes going to do now?

Excellent, as usual!
Astrix's adventures in the roman army are just as wild and funny as you might expect. Whether intimidating the camp cook or falling in love, our intrepid gaulish warriors will stop at nothing to find a friend- and lead us on a merry romp through ancient rome while they are at it. An excellent addition to Astrix's adventures.
