This book is about a boy named George Midgette and his father Erskin Midgette. Geore and his father Erskin are trying to get precious war supplies through dangerous waters to George Washington and his fleet of soldiers. They run into trouble numerous times but they manage to get across and deliver the supplies safely. A book similar to this book is a book I read called '' The Rifle.'' In this book a man made a special weapon made for the American army to use against the Redcoats. I disliked this book because it is not that exiting. Another book similar to ''George Midgettes War'' and '' The Rifle.'' is a book I read called '' MMinute Men of the Sea.'' Its about these people who are attacked on their ship by pirates.

This is probably the best Gershwin biography out there at the moment. It is very factual and academic. I wish that the author wrote in a more lively manner, though. Here we have one of the most fascinating figures of the twentieth century; an incredibly talented composer and pianist; a man who worked on Broadway, in the concert halls, in Hollywood; a man who knew many of the most fascinating figures in entertainment. You would think a biography of his life would be a spell binding page turner. No. This one drags in many places.

Jablonski and Stewart have done diligent research and this is a very useful compendium of data, but they are too much invested in a kind of sycophantic worship to present a truly incisive or analytic sense of this immensely creative duo. Stewart's contribution as Ira Gershwin's one-time assistant is especially problematic for its lack of objectivity. And the writing throughout is quite pedestrian.

the death date of Early Edwards Sr. is wrong

This is not a particularly well written book, more a task of love than a masterpiece. However, it is packed with detail and is a valued addition to the bookshelf of anyone interested in this Anglo Saxon saint.

I spent quite a bit of time with this book as it was required for a class I was taking. It tends not to go into enough depth or have specific enough examples.

In fairness, I have not yet finished the book. Yet I am already disappointed that so little was included about the European ideological and theological heritage that went into the Articles and the Constitution. Also, very little was said about the motivations and concerns of the Anti-Federalists.
The layout is attractive and easy to read. At times, the information content per paragraph is low. Some of the incidents are interesting or good cocktail party fodder, but they seem to shy away from presenting thought provoking material without accompanying commentary. In other words, I feel they don't trust the reader to think for him/herself.
The authors manifest their views everywhere but do not admit that they are opinions or discuss how the presentation is crafted around those opinions. This feature of the book lends itself to a game that increases alertness while reading: "Spot the authors' opinions." Whether you find yourself agreeing or not, it is important to recognize the authors' goals and rationale.
