Must Buy for any Wonder Woman Fan
This book is stunning; there's no other word for it. The art design is by Chip Kidd, who also designed the gorgeous Batman: Animated hardcover. Beautifully reproduced pages from her early stories interspersed with photos of antique Wonder Woman toys, dolls, and DC promotional items complete the experience. The fact that it is so much fun to leaf through and enjoy Kidd's layout is probably why these books (Kidd designed all three Complete Histories, as well) earned the unfair 'coffee table' label. Fans of the television show will be happy to know that there are plenty of photos from the series included as well as an introduction by Lynda Carter, which is a nice nod to the permanent association many of us have between the actress and the character.

A Must for the Wonder Woman Fan
Any question you've had about the amazing Amazon Princess will be answered here. You can learn about her origins, and how she has evolved over the years, always keeping in touch with each particular generation (i.e., the difference between WW in the 60's and today). The book is up-to-date, bringing the reader to the very latest story line. It truly covers all aspects of the heroine's life, including the TV series and all the many wonderful products related to her. It is also visually stunning, full of rich, vibrant images. Even if you never get to read the text, the pictures alone are worth the purchase.

Worthy of Diana
This is a fantastic book, I can't say enough good things about it. Absolutely gorgeous visually, it's also meticulously researched, having found information that's been buried for almost 60 years. From the complex and fascinating William Moulton Marston to the enigmatic Harry G. Peter, through Robert Kanigher and into the modern decades with Perez and Byrne, it's a book to get lost in for any fan of Wonder Woman. Author Les Daniels, photographer Geoff Spear, DC editor Steve Korté and everyone involved have outdone themselves. Diana deserves nothing less.

The BEST book out there so far!
I was just diagnosed this year with lupus and let me tell you, I was reading everything I could on lupus and when I ordered this book and read it in less than 1 day I felt so much better about my disease because this book helps you understand it, it is clear and concise. I feel after reading this book that I have at least better understanding and that is what we all need. I have passed the book onto my family members to read as well. VERY informative book.

The Bible of LUPUS
When I was first disgnoised with Lupus I read everything that I could find. This book is the one that helped me to understand my illness. The Lupus Book answers all of your questions you may have about Lupus. It also help you to understand what you are going through now and what to look for in the future. It tells you about the test that you will be having and explain them to you as well. If you have gained weight(which most of us have)it will show you how to catulate your weight. I enjoyed this book and I am going to buy it so I can referre back to it when I have complications. At the present time I go to the library. It also has helped me to start writing my own book. I am looking for someone to read and publish my book. Is there anyway you may be able to help me? Please e-mail me mgoodwyn@erols.com Mary B. Goodwyn

The most comprehensive lupus book available
The Lupus Book offers detailed information about lupus that is helpful for the newly diagnosed patient or, like my mother, for a lupus survivor of more than 20 years. It has become a "lupus Bible" for my mother and me, even after all the books we've read about lupus over the last 25 years. The book includes example anecdotes, useful information on treatments, and VITAL clinical information for each body system involved. Another Amazon.com customer recommended this book, and I am so grateful--we discovered a life-saving diagnostic procedure through this book that my mother's doctors had not intended to run. If you think you're getting the best care possible for your lupus, read this book and be certain of it. I can't recommend this book highly enough--it is quite literally life-preserving information for the chronically ill lupus patient.

Absolutly one of the most fantastic books I've ever read
BEFORE you read this, you should read Emerald Eyes, the prequel. You will have to read this book a couple times in order to catch the greater plot. This book is one of a series with a overall plot between them. The Long Run is about 'Trent', a young man who is the last of his kind. Trent is a genetically engineered human with a tiny flaw. Everyone else was a telepath, Trent is simply a genius with an intense desire to live in a better world. Each and every character is developed and is significant. The pace of the book is excellent. I've read this one nearly 20 times

My all time favorite
One of the best books I've ever read! Moran portrays a conceivable picture of the future and fills it with powerful, likable characters. I think this book is the best in the series - most of the plot of Emerald Eyes was covered in this book and Last Dancer was a little too far out for me.

It's a shame these books are no longer in print, but Moran has re-published a hardback edition of Emerald Eyes and The Long Run combined.

This is a fantastic turn on old cyberpunk ideas.
This book was good enough for me to read six times since I found it in 1993. It completely tramples over most books in this field, only Walter Jon Williams book, Hardwired, is its equal. The book has excellent pacing and avoids an attempt to drag anything out (the bane of many contemporary F&SF novels). There are no major plot flaws. I liked the main character, everything he did seemed completely reasonable. The other characters were a little less well developed, but the action and plotting were so well developed that I didn't really care. As the other reviewers have mentioned, this is one book in a huge series, though most of the books do not exist yet. This shows. The previous book, Emerald Eyes is practicaly impossible to find. It took me two years to find this book. The next book, The Last Dancer, is not nearly as good as this book, but it much easier to get.

Big stuff in a small package
I started and finished this little book on Sunday morning, and I've thought about it all day. This is an interesting story that is sure to get you thinking about your relationship with your own dad, whether or not he's still living. Short snippets of the father's life are recalled by his son, intertwined with fun chapters that show dad's insistence that he tell jokes to his dying day. These will draw you in and propel you forward. And there's one scene which is cleverly brought back a few times throughout the book and fine-tuned until the end. The final chapters are wonderful and will fill you up with emotion. What a nice book to read in one sitting...but I recommed you leave time for reflection about your own life with your dad as well.

O Daddy Where Art Thou
This book was an amazing read! I lost my father a few years ago and a friend suggested that I read this book. It took a while for me to get around to it, and I'm so glad that I did. The only FACT that I knew about my father was that he was a career military man. That's it. Everything else was stories and tales of his martial prowess and sexual conquests. It is amazing how men mythologize other men (especially their fathers) according to their wants and hopes for themselves.
This book was a near-perfect deconstruction of this myth, and in getting to know his father, William provides us with a nice view into the construction of masculinity.

The tone of this book reminded me of that Coen Bros. film "O Brother Where Art Thou". Not quite Southern Gothic, but enough folklore/folk belief thrown in that you get a great sense of the mentality of that part of the country during a specific moment in time. Highly recommended.

A bundle of humor and a pinch of tears
Not for a long time has a book made me well-up and laugh outloud within the same chapter. Big Fish is a fantastic quick read that is sure to leave even the most sucessful 'end guesser' breathless and chuckling. What makes this book the best though is the way that it pulls you in with amazing tales that include qualities of could-be-truth with tall-tales and little bits of an ever expanding story of a son's love for a practically unknown father. The ending is a special ending that doesn't leave you empty, nor wanting more, but rather quiet and content in the resolve of this special relationship.

A pleasure to read and a fine addition to the series.

Daniel Keys Moran is an insightful and creative storyteller who combines a beautifully detailed universe with a hard, gritty, fast paced future filled with political, societal, and technological uncertainties and dilemmas.

Moran's style of writing satifies the classic SciFi fan while it entertains and enthuses those with the borderline post apocalyptic bent of Blade Runner and the Cyberpunk genres.

_The_Last_Dancer_ is the fourth book in the Continuing Time saga falling in line a couple years after the events of _The_Long_Run_ (a masterful piece ISBN 0-553-28144-5).

The story details the events in the life of Denice Castanaveras, a genetically engineered telepath and daughter of the notorious David Castanaveras (_Emerald_Eyes_). It is 2076, 14 years after she was believed to have been murdered in the massacre of "genies".

The TriCentennial Fourth of July is approaching in an occupied America held together by the iron rule of the French led UN. Denice finds herself poised to alter the events of the burgeoning rebellion, and the only person able to halt or help the ambitions of the mysterious and charismatic Reb leader Sedon.

Publisher - We want more. GET A CLUE!!!
Without a doubt, this is one of the best science fiction novels ever written. It is a credit to the genre. Moran made vivid characters come to life, and successfully interwove a variety of themes and stories into one integrated whole. Why, oh why, can't the publishers abandon their money-is-god attitude and at least support a few authors for the sake of good literature? I am anxiously awaiting the next novel in this series, and I hold my nose at the Dungeons and Dragons garbage he's working on now. Yo, Daniel, if you read this, I'm also a writer. I know how difficult a task the book was for you, but it's well worth the effort. To read your reviews is to realize that. Now heed your fans and write another!

HOW COULD YOU CALL THIS LIFELESS!?!?
The Publishers Weekly editorial review shown by Amazon.com is SO far from the mark! A lifeless story this is not!

Having been a great fan of Dan's work and gone to extreme lengths to obtain copies of all his works, I can honestly say that The Last Dancer (tLD) was a great book! It was poignant story filled with love, hope and in some places, humour.

This ongoing story of the last of the Castanavera's children is another riveting read in the detailed world crafted by Dan which many of us have found and love.

I wholeheartedly recommend not only this book, but the entire Continuing Time Series (if you can find them all!) to anyone who loves GOOD Sci-Fi!!

To my mind, the success of a book is shown in how available it is in second hand shops. I know from experience how hard it is to find Dan's books secondhand! Everyone who has read them, refuses to part with them! I have to fight to get mine back when I lend them to friends... What better recommendation than that can you ask for?

Entering Tenebrea leaves you wanting more!!
Wow is the first word out of my mouth when I finished this first book of the trilogy!! I couldn't put it down! I immediately wanted the story to continue so I could see what happens next!! I read the entire book in one day!! I was lucky enough to buy the book when Roxann was signing them at a convention. If you like military and sci-fi stuff, you will love this one!! Bravo to both Roxann and Daniel for such an entertaining and thought-provoking piece of work!! Can't wait for the next installment coming out soon!!

Couldn't put it down!
When Andrea Flores's husband and daughter are killed in a terrorist attack, she is taken aboard the Jod starship Tyker to heal and recuperate. The Tyker's captain, K'Rin, who witnessed the aftermath of her family's murder, gives her the opportunity to join his elite and mysterious house guard, the Tenebrea. Trained as an assassin, Andrea finds herself on a special mission to the planet Cor, where she must gather information about a rumor of NewGen clones that are supposedly being grown for war. What Andrea seeks is vengeance, but her plan is slightly sidetracked in a new search for answers, and what she ends up getting involved in is something neither she, not the Jod, could have imagined.

This book was fabulous! I really didn't know what to expect, since the back cover is kind of vague, but what a wonderful surprise it was to find myself immersed in a truly gripping story of heartbreak, betrayal, acceptance, friendship, love, vengeance, secrets, lies, and loyalty. There are also some key points of humor, and plenty of tense and exciting action. Andrea's story is not as cut and dry as you might imagine in the beginning, and the plot twists and secrets that are revealed along the way make for a wonderful page-turner that teases the mind and leaves you begging for more.

The world building was wonderful, and the characters were rich and multidimensional. There were times when I really wondered, who were the good guys and who were the bad guys? ... and I'm still wondering about some of them, even at the end of the second book (Tenebrea's Hope), which was just as amazing as the first. The plot is woven together with such expertise that I was doomed to read the entire book in one sitting, never once having to skim over a dull spot ... and that is very rare indeed. I highly, highly recommend this book!

Over a dozen great books in one volume.
Ray Daniels' book is actually several books in one volume.

In part one aspects of brewing technique are covered with chapters on hitting target gravity, hop selection and utilization, malt profiles, and several other useful technical subjects.

In part two we are treated to 14 mini style books. History, techniques, and commercial examples relating to the styles are presented. Accompanying this information is Ray's unique presentation of the profiles of ingredients used in commercial and winning homebrew recipes. If you've ever asked "What really goes into a _____?" This is the place to look. Chapters also have sidebars that summarize the contents -- like the box at the end of each chapter that lists tips for successful brewing of the beer style.

This is a wonderful book I can't imagine not owning.

An essential resource
For anyone who has brewed at least one batch, this is a must-have book. You will learn more from reading this book, than from brewing a hundred more batches. Read Papazin, then graduate to this. You will learn to hit target gravities, target IBU's, and how to balance them against each other. Styles are broken down into easily (for the most part) reproducible processes and techniques, allowing you to formulate your own recipe within the style, not copy someone else's. I never brew a batch without reading up on the particular style in this book first. Best book out there on beer. Bar none.

The best recipe formulation book I have seen
First, let me say what this book is not. It is not a recipe book, or a book which describes the techniques for brewing beer. In other words, it is not for beginners.
After following recipes for a number of batches of beer, it was time to learn how to create my own recipes. The purpose of this book is to do just that; come up with your own recipes. The first part of the book tells the reader how to compute the grain bill, the hop bill and how to hit original gravity. It also contains information on beer color, yeast and water. I used this section to make the computations for my first original recipe. This, in turn, gave me the incentive to buy a brewing software package which I now use in conjunction with the second part of the book.
The second part describes beer styles and what ingredients go into each style described. There is a chart for each style which gives information on ingredients used in beers which made it to the second round of the NHC. I found some of the charts in this part somewhat confusing and there are a few references in the text to wrong charts. However, as a result of this book, I have started to formulate my own recipes with a lot of success.

Soldier's Trilogy
I love this book/trilogy. It's probably my favorite book I've read so far. I would recommend this book to people whom in the past were put off by older literature. This book, although set in the early 20th century, seems fresh and alive. You may have difficulty at first with some of the more experimental sections, like "The Camera Eye", but I wouldn't let that discourage myself from recommending this book. Those sections tend to be rather on the short side anyway. I wish Dos Passos was more thought of today than he is, because he's an excellent writer. I often couldn't believe how many pages I had read in a session, as I got lost in the book completely. Read this book!

WONDERFUL!
This is the true American Epic.

Dos Passos wrote this trilogy almost as a documentary. It is a history lesson, with newspaper articles, biographical sketches, beautiful train of thought prose poems, and, in the midst of it all, fictional but brutally realistic characters who each experience the times through a unique set of eyes.

Since I have read this book it has become one of my favorites, and there are few titles with more meaning to me than _U.S.A_.

THE GREAT AMERICAN TRILOGY
As an author of a debut novel in its initial release, I find myself amazed by these three books by John Dos Passos. 42nd PARALLEL, 1919, and BIG MONEY tell the tale of the growth of America into the greatest and most powerful nation in the history of the world. Mr. Dos Passos pulls out all the stops with experimental techniques as well as traditional story telling. Each time I read one of these books in this trilogy, I realize what a masterful writer Mr. Dos Passos was. These are his best works. No question about it. They may be the best three novels, taken as a trilogy, ever written by an American.

A Little Scary!
This isn't like the Disney movie! I loved this book but at the same time I was shocked by the violence of the fighting between Hook and the Lost Boys and the Indians. I don't think I'll be reading this one to my nephews and neices, not until I have edited out the violent bits. It wasn't that In-Your-Face violence of the Hollywood movies, it was more insinuated and there was definetly a menacing atmosphere surrounding Wendy's, Peter's and Michael's adventures in Never Never Land. I do recommend it though, just not for easily frightened youngsters. This is definetly in need of a PG rating on the cover. PARENTS: This is no Disney Peter Pan!

Best Audio Book in my ten year search
Driving with young children in the car quickly convinced me that it was unsafe to not give them something to listen to. After ten years I have collected a large (30+) bag of books-on-tape. I have also loaned them to others and asked for opinions. Peter Pan (read by Wendy Craig) is not only my favorite, but also the favorite of my wife and most of my friends. It is excellent for all ages (4 to 80) and even most hardened teenagers. Humour, presentation, ... a prefect 10.

Bittersweet
The book 'Peter Pan' by J. M. Barrie is a truly beautiful work. It is never too cloyingly sweet or too harsh, and the child's perspective of the world is beautifully crafted. It does, however, bring you along on a journey to the Neverlands, and perhaps for a little while we can be reunited with our dreams.

Although Wendy seems a little prim, she is sweet and motherly. John was offhand and brave, Michael was tiny and believing. My favourite character was, however, Peter. The author really outdid himself on this one. Peter's innocent cockiness and love for dangerous adventures endeared him to me at once. He still has all his first teeth, and his first laugh - what more could we ask of him? His frightful happiness in danger reminds me of my seven-year-old self.

The book retains a magical quality right up to the last page. The midnight scene where Peter coaxes them out of the window has always stood out in my mind; there is a kind of magic in an ever-young boy, small and innocently cocky and always up to some mischief. The ending of the book is very sad, for only those who are gay and young and light-hearted can fly.

Definitely a book worth reading. Adults, trust me on this one: you might think you're too old to read this book, but once you do you'll find that a piece of Neverland still resides in your heart.

Excellent, covers everything,
This book is a wealth of information. I bought it specifically for the chapter on installing Check Point VPN-1/FireWall-1 on Solaris. It was excellent. In addition, the chapters on the graphical interface and the security policy are comprehensive and very well written. Great coverage of NAT, OPSEC, and SAM. If you are using CheckPoint, pick it up.

Great Book
This book is very thorough and helpful for anyone who wants to use the Check Point product line. I recommend this book as it is detailed and info packed. The appendix written by Dan Kaminski who is world renowned in his security work is also a great read. This book is also a great prep for the CCSA NG exam 156-210. I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to learn how to configure and use Check Point as well as to get more information on security in general. Good Stuff!

Excellent Reference- Can use for exam as well
I bought this to use as a reference and to supplement my training for the NG exam- I just returned from taking my exam and although this book is not a study guide by name, it does cover the majority of information you need to know for the CCSA and CCSE NG exams, and it covers the information really well. I personally tend to throw away my study guides when I'm done with them as they tend to cover the material needed to pass the exam and no more- this book is a reference book, and covers the material needed for the exam and more. A keeper!
