Lack of clear examples made this book a terrible supplement to my multivariate statistics curriculum. I would recommend 'Applied Multivariate Statistical Analysis' by Johnson and Wichern for the graduate student first tackling this difficult topic.

After reading this book, it seems to me that many "ivory tower" linguists are attempting to qualify and quantify the complex field of morphology- driven syntax. Rorhrbacher's theories are classic exercises in oversimplification. The use of language must necessarily allow for the flexibility of verbal poignancy. Rohrbacher still refuses to take this fact into account when he insists on linguistic stagnation. The book simply glosses over the potential malleablity of all languages. Such simplicity only hurts the vibrant field of linguistics.

I read this book in about an hour, and I have to say, it was one of the most boring hours of my life. There isn't one single original thing about this book, nor a single redeeming quality. Unless you want to see how much boredom you can withstand, stay away from this book. You have been warned.
