Beautiful Faery Picture Book
An enchanting picture book.
The book contains reproductions of a collection of Cicely Mary Barker's watercolors of flower fairies. Each watercolor is a picture of a child or two represented as fairies of a particular flower. The flowers are beautifully rendered, and the fairy children are dressed in garments that resemble their own flowers. Each picture is accompanied by a poem.
Ms. Barker used the children who attended her sister's kindergarten as models with the result that the children are charmingly drawn but perhaps a trifle too realistically for depictions of fairies.
Still, it is a delightful book.

Beautiful Plates but Incomplete
This is a beautiful book with large, beautiful plates on thick glossy paper. Each flower fairy is accompanied by its poem. However, it may not have all of your favorite fairies. For example, it does not have the Lavender Flower Fairy or the Apple Blommom Fairy, two of my favorites. However, it does have 60 flower fairies. I could not wait a minute to own it.
A lovely picture book.

what a FABULOUS pop-up book!
I first bought this book back in 1993 for myself--the artwork and the magic of each flower pop-up was irresistible! I gave it to a dear friend's 2 daughters for Christmas that year--it was so wonderful to share it also. Now I'm buying another copy for myself, and one for another friend's child. Each flower in the book is shown as it looks in the spring, and then the pop-up changes it to it's autumn form--it's truly magical! And as with all of Cicely Barker's work--the artwork is stunningly beautiful.

I loved this enchanting story and the illustrations.
I first read this book to my little girl in 1975. She was four. The prose is a little lengthy but the illustrations and the story make it worth the the effort. The book was in our public library and was terribly tattered and worn. We loved the magical drawings and the wonderful little story where being good and working hard is rewarded. And since I believe in fairies, I was delighted to find this little book to share with my daughter. But, it wasn't until five years ago that I was able to find this book and order it from a bookstore. Since then, I have purchased many copies of this book and others by Cicely Mary Barker. She was truly an incredible artist and her drawings will delight children of all ages!

Must Have
This is the cutest little address book I have ever seen. It has many color pages of Cicely Mary Baker's adorable little fairies. Different fairies for ever letter of the alphabet. Lots of spaces for entries under each letter too! I highly recommend this perfect little address book. The only drawback is that it does not have any tab dividers, but the lack of these just makes the book cuter.

Flower Fairies Calendar
All of the flower fairies captured by Cicely Mary Barker are sweet and charming, and possess an innocence that is rare in modern depictions of scantily clad sirens. A must-have for all fairy lovers.

Cropped and missing fairies
There are 6 fairies that never made it into the book: Cat's Ear, Convolvulus, Goose Grass, Scentless Mayweed, Sorrell, and Wild Thyme. Also, some of the images are cropped out of context, grossly enlarged, etc. Nice collection, but if you want pictures to sit and pore over, get the little reproductions of the books.
The Most Wonderful book of Fairires I have ever found.
Now I'm an adult who ran across the book just a little while ago. I have always loved fairies, but was not really into the horrid interpretations of modern day artiest. This book is so amazing it's unreal! The artwork is so beautiful and delicate. She painted them as beautiful wide-eyed children and adolescents, with absolutely amazing accuracy on the accompanying flowers. The poems for each flower fairy describes the chararistics of the flower with such grace it sends chills up my spine. A WONDERFUL book for parents to read to their children, as well as a great book for adults who want to stay children at heart. I can not express enough the beauty and gentleness of her artwork enough! The book here contains all 8 of the Flower Fairies books as well as story of The Fairy Necklaces and the poems she illustrated for Old Rimes for All Times. You will not be disapointed.
Good Pictures
Since I can remember I have loved th faerie series and this book is what I wanted most for my birthday. The pictures kept me (and still do) occupide for hours with friends and alone. Me and my friends play a game with it where we open a page and point to the faeries nameing what we think each one is. Here is an examble of what we call the faeries, cute, pretty, and fun. If you have a daughter or if you like faeries, order this book.

Charming Gift for Fairy Fans
I was NOT disappointed with this purchase. The postcards are adorable just as the work of Cicely Mark Barker. I can't wait to give it to my sister as a gift with The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies.
Party thank you notes
My four year old loves to thumb through these beautiful pictures, but when we had to send thank you notes for her birthday party gifts, we carefully tore a few out to send to her friends. Everyone liked them so much that I see them hanging on walls in refrigerators in her friends' houses. Charming! Highly recommended!
