Awesome for artful girls of all ages!
What a wonderful coloring book! I enjoyed the magic pencil pages very well. However my favorites where the magic painting pages! Black and white illustrations 'magically' turn colorful when you add water. I ordered this book for myself (an adult female) but my neighbor's daughter fell in love with it, so I'm back to order another for her birthday gift.

Beautiful Drawings
For those who are looking at branching into the world of art. This book is an excellent primer for some of the better quality work which is no longer around today. If you like this time period you can try other illustrators like Trina Schart Hyman, Edward-Burne Jones, or Alphonse Mucha. While all of Barker's artwork is not on this level, this book is and makes enjoyable eye-candy for the artist or artist-at-heart.

Revisit the Garden From Your Armchair in January
I love Cicely Mary Barker's work. The drawings are botanical accurate, with a subtle artistic softness that makes them very pleasurable. I've been an avid perennial gardener for over 12 years now. Working in the garden regularly, you see the flowers, feel the seasons, and become part of the cycle of nature. The art and poetry in Flower Fairies of the Garden captures the essence of that experience.

Cicely Mary Barker's books are wonderful. I add one to each order I place on Amazon to complete my collection.

An Enchanting Book
Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies of the Summer is awonderful children's book, that would be treasured by adults as well. Her illustrations of flowers and plants are botanically accurate, but the crowning glory is the fairie showcased in each picture! Her work draws us to rediscover nature from a child's eye!

Cicely wrote a poem for each fairy. While I've enjoyed many of Cicely's publications, I particularly enjoy Flower Fairies of the Summer for the poetry. The poetry invites the reader to delight in the wonder and magic of nature on a summer's day. The use of words comes from another age, where there was somehow more time to indulge the senses in appreciating the intricacies nature.

Flower Fairies of the Wayside: Poems and Pictures
This is a beautifully illustrated book of fairies andtheflowers that they represent. The watercolors are detailed, andbotanically correct, and the inerpretation of the fairies is a creative and unique way of getting people of all ages interested in flowers and gardening.

This book focuses on flowers that other artists may have chosen to ignore due to their smallness in size and commonplace status in the flower world. This book is particularly pleasing because many of these particular flowers can be found in the backyard or city park.

Beautiful Set
This set of four 20" x 14.5" posters depict four seasonal fairies in a natural setting from Cicely Mary Barker's classic Flower Fairy illustrations. The set includes The Pear Blossom Fairy (spring), The Rose Fairy (summer), The Blackberry Fairy (autumn) and The Winter Aconite Fairy. They would be wonderful for a child's room. I display mine in my sewing room and change them out every season. They come in a reclosable plastic bag, which is great for storing when not in use. They are no longer in print in the U.S. and supplies are dwindling in England, which makes them very hard to find and a real treasure when you do! But if you're a fairy lover, or a fan of Ms. Barker, you'll want to acquire and own this beautiful set.

Love it!
The book was more than I expected it to be. But there were also some disappointing aspects of it. It is beautiful, with gorgeous illustrations and creative information tidbits about herbs and other assorted things. But there is not a whole lot of things to fill in about milestones, and I don't think theres enough room for photos. I have another baby book where I have recorded all my daughter's milestones, so I am now planning to use both books since I need both to record all my baby's most precious moments. Both pleased as well as a tad bit disappointed, I would definitly recommend this book...not for the milestone value but for the beauty of it. Very creative, very unique.

Great baby book!
I'm not even sure if it's a boy or a girl yet, but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. It is a GREAT baby book. I had the classic Pooh one and the Anne Geddes one with my son, and they were OK, but some of the things they had for you to fill out were kind of out of date. For example, first picture, do you use the one where they are all bloody, or the one the hospital takes? Yuck! This book has space for a first prenatal photo! Much better! First time I saw baby on ultrasound! Great idea! AND it's gorgeous. Even if it's a boy I'm going to use it. If it's a girl, even better because I can go ahead with my plans to decorate her room with fairies : )

Completely complete and absolutely delightful
I am an avid record-keeper and Cicely May Barker enthusiast, so I have had my eye on this baby book for quite some time. I waited on pins and needles to find out the gender of our expected child, and ordered this book for her the very day we learned she's a girl. The book arrived today, and is every bit as beautiful as I hoped, if not more. It covers every topic I want to record, including our anticipation of her arrival, her birth, family, health, first-year "firsts" and special events. I was pleased with the amount of space provided for pictures, thoughts, and memorabilia (it even has a pocket on the back cover!), and delighted with the tidbits of plant and fairy "lore" sprinkled throughout the pages. I was also surprised to find the book would have worked equally well had the baby been a boy; it seems like a lot of efforts were made to keep the book non-gender-specific, as well as completely adorable. I would recommend it to any expectant family without hesitation.
