Review by Marvin Dunnette, U. of Minnesota:

"Lowman has done a superb job in this book of developing and discussing cases illustrative of a wide range of practices and behaviors that present challenges to professional judgment. This book can be used productively in graduate courses...[and] can also be recommended to current practitioners..."

Facets of Faith

Authors: Rodney Shaw and Rodney N. Shaw
Amazon base price: $7.99

Incredible
This book caused me to pray. That's incredible to me. Because anything that can speak to me heart, you know comes from God. It's not inspired in the sense of Biblical inspiration, but, oh brother (!), does it speak to me about my own lack in the area of faith.

Thank God for a book like this. I plan to buy some other copies for the folks in our church.

Stark at his best
Rodney Stark is at his best in this book, and that is very good indeed. Christianity takes considerable criticism for its role in the witch trials, the slave trade, and for being so-called opponents of science. This work sheds light on those issues. The treatment is something that a Christian can use to defend his religion from the standpoint of reality. While there is much in the book to make Catholics and Protestants, as well as Jews and Muslims uncomfortable, there are answers to the standard tirades that we must endure.

I was tempted to this 4 stars instead of 5 because I would have liked to have seen more of the history of the Muslims and the Jews, but that is the only reason. What is there in the book is execellent.

Excellent guide to fossils, and not just for Ohio
This book was written by expert professional paleontologists to describe the fossils of one of the most paleontologically-diverse states in the USA. The illustrations are excellent, the systematics are accurate, and the descriptions are succinct and readable. Anyone interested in fossils anywhere will want a copy of this book. The price is extraordinarily low for the value!

A great reference book on these unique compounds.
Without a doubt, fullerenes are one of the most well-known groups of compounds in the chemist community in the 20th century. Not very long after the discovery of the compound C60, numerous articles in organic, physical, analytical, and biochemical research have been published. While extensive studies on these outstanding compounds are still being under way, this book serves as one of the most thorough collections of literature on the subject. Although highly specialized, the book is recommended to any graduate student, as well as chemist and chemistry-related scientist who enjoy in-depth discussions on these unique compounds. In addition, relevant references are included for further reading on certain aspects of the compounds discussed.

A Blueprint of Life
Are the major oracles of antiquity -- the I"Ching, The Tarot and Astrology -- unrelated in their approach and viewpoints, or do they reflect common, archetypal principles which form "a spiritual blueprint" of creation? The authors suggest the latter and not only elaborate this blueprint, but also create an oracle ideal for our global society. The genius of this book is its appeal to both layman and scholar. Teachers and professors will appreciate "The Global Oracle" as a new subjective discipline of knowledge. Everyone else will enjoy consulting this oracle due to its simple, clear and articulate guidance.

A very useful reference.
Described as 'an encyclopaedia for the profession of project management', this 830 page reference manual has 45 chapters in seven parts covering every aspect of management with which a project manager may be concerned. Each chapter covers an issue (health and safety, ethics, contract law, information systems) in considerable depth, with an excellent listing of references at the end of each chapter to more detailed texts and to linked sections of the Handbook. It is written for the professional and the formal student of project management rather than for the generalist who happens to become engaged in a project.
