Interesting real-life story told poorly
The story of a CIA operative in Hawaii that was hung out to dry by the federal government, this is an interesting story with many layers of truth and deceipt, including revelations of then-VP George Bush, CIA head-cum-media mogul William Casey, and the very judicial system that we trust to maintain law and order. Unfortunately, the author fills his chapters with redundancies and poorly executed summaries and in the end reveals various other spy-thriller type scenarios that would have made his book that much more interesting if he deemed them worthy of inclusion. A frustrating read on several levels.

Needs another title
This book would work fine if used as a resource guide for someone writing a report on parapsychology or psychic ability. However as far as awakening and using your ESP this book is practically worthless, if thats what your looking for, look elsewhere.

Possibly the worst book on varanid lizards ever written.
Aside from the beautiful photography (most of which is mislabled), this book has to be the worst treatment of varanid and helodermid lizards ever written. The author has done little more than regurgitate outdated facts. It seems like the rest he just made up. The taxonomy is a joke, as is the rest of the book.

Probably the poorest book on this subject in print.
This book was probably written more to capitalize on the popularity of monitors than to contribute anything either current or accurate. Illustrations are mislabeled, poor drawings, or misleading. Text and taxonomy are seriously out of date.

"Dazzeloids" are hardly dazzling
I was VERY disappointed by this game. For a game about "CD-ROM Superheroes on a Binge Against Boredom", it's pretty darn boring itself. I suppose the primitive graphics can be excused by how old the game is, but the songs in it are inane by anyone's standards. Once you're played through all the combinations (which took me one playing session), there is absolutelly no replay value. Any attempt to flesh out the characters is rendered meaningless by the lack of relevence to the actual game. Each character has only one attribute that actually comes into play. There were a few parts that some parents might consider too vulgar for children. The "music video inspired Dazzeloid Dreams" show the sheep-like character being born (it looks like it's falling out of the mother sheep's back side) and sucking on her teets, once as an adult.

The worst part of this game is how it's a thinly-veiled political propaganda tool. Make no mistake, I'm not a huge fan of corporations or anything. But this game claims to be a kid's game about having fun and fighting bordom. Instead it teaches that corporations are run by evil slugs who want to further bordom, make everyone wear suits, and replace books with TVs to turn kids into "brain-washed zombies"! If the makers of this game thinks kids are old enough to be learning about politics, he should respect their right to hear multiple sides of issues and then reach intelligent, informed conclusions.

There are several other things in this game that I could point out, but I've wasted more than enough time with the "Dazzeloids" already. ....

The author has this all wrong. The Cubs and Red Sox deserve books of poety. The Yankees deserve annual reports.

Need to know about the software QA process? Look elswhere
This is one of the worst technical book I have ever read, or I should say, ever made an attempt to read. While it may contain pertinent information about the software development/QA process, the author's writing style safely obscures it. His officious pronouncements about what constitutes good or bad practices, without supporting information in the near vicinity, is maddening. His odd style of writing construction, where practically every third sentence is followed by a parenthetical phrase that (presumably) is supposed to augment the preceding text, but in many cases either states something so obvious as to be insulting to the reader, or actually contradicts earlier definitions, makes reading it a real chore. This book appears to have somehow escaped the editorial review process and gone right to print.
The overall software development process as envisioned by the author, apparently takes place in some techno-bureaucratic fantasy land, where QA engineers, developers and tech writers are somehow interchangeable and should routinely "rotate jobs" to develop some empathy for the other fellow's position.
If you must read this book, read the conclusions at the end of each chapter, where space constraints dictate a refreshing brevity, and do read the appendices, which are really quite good. Finally, try to ignore the "marketingese" slogans "Best-Practices" and "Best-in-Breed", which of course convey no useful information, but seem to be used everywhere.
