The Power of Patience: How to Slow the Rush and Enjoy More H
Mary Jane Ryan's POWER OF PATIENCE puts it all into perspective. Through inspiring quotes, stories, and practical suggestions, she creates an insightful, personal and very useful journey for readers. I've had the book a week and have already read it twice (the combination of a house fire, huge loss and a very bad insurance company are making me a student of patience and perspective...thank goodness for this book!). POWER OF PATIENCE would also make a terrific gift.

Anger No More
This was an AWESOME book. Thubten Chodron knows what it's like to be in the shoes of an American living in the millennium. And more! She gives wise, yet practical, perspectives in how our perception is what stands in our way 100% of the time. Of the many choices we have in reacting to any given situation, anger is but only one, and Thubten clearly illustrates how it only serves to pave a destructive path for ourselves and others. I initially bought this book in the hopes of finding a few answers for personal situations, and I found myself feeling transformed within the first 30-40 pages! For those who are naturally introspective, some of this book will serve as an effective reminder for what you already know. Most of it, however, will offer a refreshing new view to take with you as you approach your day. One does not need to be religious to benefit from this book, and you don't need to spend a chunk of your day in a meditational state to make use of it. A definite must for those who want to evolve in a difficult world.

An excellent survey and self-help guide
What are the advantages and disadvantages of anger? Is it ever useful? Working With Anger considers various forms of anger in response to various life conditions, revealing the circumstances in which anger can serve as a catalyst for change. An excellent survey and self-help guide.

A penetrating journey into the heart of compassion.
On this audio program, the Dalai Lama, the spiritual and temporal leader of Tibet, speaks lucidly and candidly about the ability of each of us to transform the world by transforming our own mind, Using his experience as a refugee, the Dalai Lama personally shares his own experience of transforming anger through patience and provides practical techniques that each of us can use in our daily lives. With beautiful music from the Tibetan Opera Company, and personal comments from the Dalai Lama, this program gives you the opportunity to have a personal experience with one of the most unique and spiritual beings on the planet - an experience that will remain with you long after the tape is finished. The other great part about the program is that it is in English and is easy to understand, which makes this extraordinary man accessible to all. "The purpose of life is happiness..." A little jewel
"Armed With Patience" is the best treatment out there of what's happened to life in Russia since the breakup of the Soviet Union. Winchell tells us about the Russia few Western journalists and tourists ever see, from shopping and health to children and spirituality -- and much more. Her observations are based on two nine-month stays in the 1990s, and are enriched by her language fluency and solid grounding in Russian history and culture. Winchell is a keen observer and gifted writer. Details, anecdotes, and proverbs take us from the general to the memorable. "Armed With Patience" is a little jewel.

PATIENCE! PATIENCE! PATIENCE!
Baseball for Breakfast is a delightful book for kids, especially those who hate to wait. The book shows it's readers what can happen when you don't take time for all things in life and how that thinking only of yourself can be disastrous. A wonderful book to show that each moment is important and that patience is truly a virture!

A Beautiful Book
The lovely illustrations bring children into the warm and reassuring world of this sweet and gentle story. Everyone would want a wonderful babysitter like Mrs. Duck. Text and pictures bring out the best in each other. The illustrations have exquisite detail--the pictures on the walls, the toys on the shelves--that make the book a delight to return to again and again.

Bear's Back and better than ever!
This is the third book of Bear's adventures. The illustrations of Patience Brewster are a perfect match to Winthop's story. Bear is a charmer; he becomes big brother to a huge panda bear: Roly-Poly. We could only wish there were more books about Bear.

Energetic, exciting & fun!
This book was a nice surprise. I had never heard of it before. It has lots of great action words in it that kids find exciting. It is easy for an adult to get lively when reading it because of the author's choice of words. I highly recommend it!
