Teaches gender equality and sensativity to exiled refugees.
It is about an Indian boy who learns that his female horse is just as good or better than a male horse and has to defend her from anti-female comments. This book prompted my son to ask about the history of the American Indians.

Mr. Wolf is back!
As a fan of Fearnley's Mr. WOLF'S PANCAKES, I was curious to see what would be cooked up in this sequal. This time it's birthday cake! When Mr. Wolf and his Granny host a birthday party for Baby Bear, they plan for a perfect day. Then that rude and naughty Goldilocks shows up. Granny has obviously handled such beastly children before, so this visit is a piece of cake.

Fearnley fans won't be disappointed at the outcome!

White Fang 2 myth of the White wolf / Dude G
White Fang 2 myth of the white wolf
Elizabeth Faucher
Published in 1994

The name of my book is called White Fang 2. There are four main characters - a man named, Henry, his wolf, White Fang, a young Haida woman, named Lily, and the Haida chief, named Moses. In the story Henry wants gold. First he gets the gold , and then he loses it while Lily saves his life. Then he loses White Fang, his best friend, in the river. I think the moral of the story is that money isn't more important than love and friendship. Henry changes by realizing that money isn't more important than love and freindship. I loved this book so much that on a scale of one to five I would give this book a ten. That's how much I loved this book. If you love Native Americans you will love this book.I reccomend this book to ages 8 and up.

This book is eerie, enthralling and brilliant!
I LOVE this book! It's amazing.

It stars Cassy, a young girl raised by her grandmother who is sent on sudden visits to her mother, Goldie (who is slightly 'away with the faries'). Her gran sends her on one of these vists and she starts having nightmares involving wolves, linked in with Goldie's latest project, a play about wolves. And a plot unwinds...

We read this in class and everyone, even the book haters loved it. The plot is on so many levels and it all come together brilliantly. It was exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end- when I went back and read it five more times!

A must read!

The amazing 2nd book in the immortals series
Wolf-Speaker, the second book in the Immortals series, proves to be just as good as the last. In this book Daine and Numair are off north when Daine gets a distress call from the wolf pack that helped her avenge her parents death. The pack tells them about a force of two-leggers (or humans) that are tearing up the land, cutting down trees, and scaring away all the game. Daine is the only one that can tell the nobles in the area to stop. But when Daine and Numair comes across the nobles of the area they realize that they might have much more sinister causes, causes that has something to do with the dangerous immortals that are running rampant in Tortall. Because of this Daine and Numair are seperated, both focused on their tasks. Daine wants to help her pack brothers and sisters more than anything, but with every step she takes she finds herself getting in more dangerous predicaments. I really enjoyed this book, I've nearly read everything by Tamora Pierce and this series is becoming a fast favorite of mine. I was really happy to see Daine learning more about Stormwings and meeting ... different kinds of immortals (but I won't spoil it for you!) I recommend this series not only to fans of Tamora Pierce and Fantasy fiction, but to animal loves as well.

Great Book for Animal and Mythology Lovers
The book, Wolf-Speaker, in the Immortals series, is a wonderful book. It is about a girl named Daine, 14, and a mage, her teacher, Numair, 30, who live in the time period with King Jonathan III, and Queen Thayet. The world is invaded with immortal creatures, such as dragons and Stormwings. Daine can mind-speak with animals using her Wild Magic. In the 2nd book in this series, Wolf-Speaker, Numair, their 2 horses, Spots and Mangle, her pony, Cloud, her dragon, Skysong or Kitten, and she go to heed the wolves of the Long Lake Pack's cry for help. People in Dunlath Valley are cutting down trees and turning the peaceful valley into a nightmare. She and Numair find out the awful plan Tristan (Numair's old mage school classmate) and Lady Yolane of Dunlath have for Dunlath Valley. Read this book and find out the excellent ending. Wolf lovers, like myself, will love this book.

Wolf-Speaker- A brief summary, and some comments.
The wolves who had taken in Daine and avenged her parents' deaths, are in trouble. Some two-leggers (A.K.A., us) are cutting down all of the trees in Dunlath Valley. They call to Daine for help, and she comes to them with Numair, Kitten (Or Skysong, the baby dragon), Cloud, Spots, and Mangle (The last three are two horses and a pony). Daine is worried about the wolf pack. Ever since she's met them, they've had, how should I say... not wolflike thoughts and ideas. Especially Brokefang, the packs leader. To not spoil the whole story --- Daine has to save the animals from something really, really bad (You know, death). But the wolf pack keeps doing not nice things! Daine acquires a new power- the ability to shapeshift and see what animals see. Perhaps this new magic will help her. Will the animals get back their forest? Will the two-leggers stop this destruction? Will Daine be able to save the day? Perhaps... [Ooh, I just gave you some forshadowing (Even if it isn't very good forshadowing)!] I gave the book five stars, because it was as good as the first book (Which I gave five stars to too). It's got animals, and magic, and... well, what doesn't it have that fantasy/animal/humor lovers don't want?

a wonderful story about wolves, human nature, love & sadness
This book is just that, with a little bit of everything. Set in a prehistoric setting in first person, the reader can really connect with every one of Tanith's (the main character) thoughts. Tanith lived with wolves as a small child before the tribe of Ahear came to kill the wolves and return her to human society, treating her as nothing more than a slave. Soon she begins to long to return to the wolves, who treated her more kindly than any human ever did. But a young man from a neighboring tribe inevitably falls in love with her and offers her a home with his less savage clan. Tanith is left to chose between the worlds of wolves and humans. It's actually something like Julie of the Wolves, but far more detailed in plot and character, and worthy of a wider range of audiences. I've read it at least ten times over since the age of nine, and I'm still not tired of it. I'd reccommend this to anyone, whether they are friends of wolves or not.

Wolf Woman is a powerful novel seen through Tanith's eyes.
Wolf Woman is a powerful novel written through Tanith's eyes. In the book you feel all Tanith's feelings, her thoughts. I think that Tanith is physically human, but mentally wolf. She is calm, carefree and happy when she is with the wolves, and, although when she is with her 'human friend' Gibran [whom she loves] she is happy, most of her other feelings with humans have been worry, confusion, sadness. Her clan hates the wolves, so when the two worlds clash, her feelings turn to confusion, grief, hatred. Tanith has many different emotions rolled into one, which creates one of the best and most powerful book I have ever, ever, read! I think that the book is good because it is not too unrealistic, like some fairy tales where the good characters never die, the bad guys always die, etc, etc, etc. Tanith is such a realistic book you feel like you're living in the time of Tanith, Woman of the Wolves.

Tanith is one of the most powerful books I have read.
I think Tanith is a great book. It has something that I find in no other book. Maybe it is the characters' personalities. I do not know. But I do know that Sherryle Jordan is a talented author. Tanith has to be the best book I have read for ages. Tanith is not a book that does not help you imagine. It really takes you along for a ride. You always know what is happening and sometimes you feel just like Tanith walking with the wolves and living with a tormenting clan. You can really be anyone you want to be. Tanith covers all the emotions like love, sadness, surprise, boredom, happiness and regret. It is a very powerful book and I know almost every one who has read it in my class would love it if there was a sequel. The main characters in Tanith are of course Tanith,Ahearn, Nolwynn, Morag, Hrothi, Tallil, Sabra, Gibran, Gibran's Father & the rest of his clan and Ahearn's clan. They are all human characters but there is another cast of characters which you come to love and know nearly as much as Tanith. They are The Wolves. Their names are: Ashok, Shula, Kalasin, Raida, Zaal and Zeki and the black wolf. I have told you the names of the characters but if you want to find out the characters' personalities and places in the book you will have to read it yourself.

The first book in the best role-playing series ever
This book is the best role-playing book I have ever read. Except for maybe the sequels. Not only is it a choose your own adventure book, but it's one that's written with a good enough plot to be a regular novel. You can develop your charachter and use skills and items in later books. I've read Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and I would say that this book and all the ones after it rank right up there with them. I recommend this book and all the sequels for anyone who likes role-playing and/or sci-fi.

Greatest role playing book series EVER
I've read a lot of gaming books, and I must say that Lone Wolf is the best series of all time. It allows for character advancement and there is a cohesive story that carries throughout the series. It keeps you excited and I must say that I was happy when I had an opportunity to use an item in the ninth book that I had gotten in the first! The fighting is decently realistic and the skill development carries from one book to the next. Even the artwork is great. A choose your own adventure book is never as good as real honest role-playing, but if you're going to read one, this is it. I'd rate it an eleven if they let me.

The Lone wolf series KicK-ASS!!!!
When I started reading the Lone Wolf series I was instantly hooked up. I really like role playing game books when i was around 10. I'm 17 and i still read the books written by Joe. He's one of my idols!! Because the book have stopped being sent to my local book store in Malaysia, i've only been able to read up to book 16. But when i'm bored I pick up book 1-16 and read away.!!!

An entertaining read
I really enjoyed 'Wolf Tower,' so much so that I immediately went in search of the two sequels. On its own, this book is good. It's entertaining and fairly easy to read. The only real complaint I had was that some of the language Claidi uses seems a bit too modern (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). Claidi is an engaging heroine with a mind of her own, and this narrative of her travels in a strange world is highly enjoyable.

This book can (and should) stand on its own. I was extremely disappointed with the next two books in the series. So I would definitely recommend 'Wolf Tower'... just stay clear of 'Wolf Star' and 'Wolf Queen' if you don't want to be left with a bad taste in your mouth.

Wonderful
Claidi is a maids servant in the House where silly rituals are the law. She steals a book from her master, and it becomes her journal. That is how the book reads, from her diary entrys. Everything is dully suitable untill a strange balloon is shot down. The man traveling in it has a trial and during the trial gives a flower to the much respected elderly Jizania Tiger. This flower comes from the supposed barren waste where those disobediant are exiled. Jizanian then asks Claidi if she will help the strange man, Nemian, escape. She is supposed to be well cared for it she goes.
Claidi's adventures into the Waste are quit exciting. She meets sheep people whose language consists of baa's, feather people who have strange rituals, and the Hulta with their young leader.
Claidi travels along with Nemian in a wonderful tale. She is spunky and learns well from her mistakes. She betrays to prove who she is and is betrayed in return for it.
This book is great. It is very highly recommended. The story is intriguing, the characters wonderful, and the writting superb. This is a great read but its sequel Wolf Star is a sad let down.

More Beautiful than Reality
I am writing this review because I was reading other readers' reviews, and realizing that too many of them had given away important surprising aspects of the book. When I read Wolf Tower, I did so without having any idea what the book was about, save for the vague summary on the back cover. I know you have probably already read the editor review that gives away the entire story, but I hope not.

Claidi lives in the House, an isolated oasis in the middle of what House residents call the Waste: a place of horrors where the profaners of sacred rituals are sent into exile. Claidi believes the dreadful tales of the Waste, and goes on suffering as a servant to Lady Jade Leaf in the House... until a balloon crashes in the House garden, and the balloon's occupant is put on trial. Then Claidi is swept into an adventure of her own, alongside Nemian, the golden stranger from the balloon. She comes to discover that the Waste is not at all what she has been led to believe, most things aren't what they seem, and that following her heart is, in the long run, going to make her happier than doing what her better judgement tells her is right.

I am a big fan of Tanith Lee, and have become even more so after reading Wolf Tower. The characters and places come alive, and hold more clarity than even some things in life. If you choose not to read this book, then you are truly missing a wonderful and beautiful tale. If you do decide to read it, then be prepared for a delightful, humorous, and sometimes poignant look into the life of Claidi, an ordinary girl on an extraordinary adventure.

Not bad for a "young adult" shocker!
"Blood Wolf" is a slightly gory book about the second son of a king who has died. The older son feels that the best way to protect the throne, which is already rightfully his, is to kill his younger brother.

The book is loosely set in a Medieval wintertime, though not historically so. Included in the cast of characters are a shapeshifter and a goddess.

While "Blood Wolf" is a bit gruesome for my adult tastes, I can see many a teen liking this tale.

To the young adult who does enjoy this book, in addition may I respectfully suggest Stephen King's "The Eyes of the Dragon." It's longer, but it's a very good story that you might just love!

Got Blood?
This book has a lot of blood, but there's other stuff too like blood, and also blood. There's truth to it too, like evil kings with unjust rules and laws. I really liked it because the main character was strong but human. The end was totaly fiction and totaly unique. The bad guys got what they deserved to say the least.I rated it four stars because it wasn't perfect. This book was a real thriller.Pennsylvania

Bloodiest and Best
Although this book had a lot of blood, it had a lot of other stuff too, like blood, and more blood. There was some truth to it though, like the part when the king wanted his brother dead so he could not be overthrown. The end is totaly fiction. He should have just given into the godess. Although the story wouldn't have been half as good because there would be no justace for him. Even though hois enemys did succeed they also failed. They failed more than they succeeded. The book was a real Thriller.
