useful and practical description of Genetic Programming.
Langdon's book is an important addition to the literature on Genetic Programming. After a thorough survey of the state of the art in the field, he describes how Genetic Programming can be used to generate the standard data structures that humans rely on so heavily. He then describes how these data structures can be used to extend the power of Genetic Programming, and gives a number of useful examples. In all, an important part of any GP library.

A very nice introduction to the field of genetic programming
The book "Genetic Programming + Data Structures = Automatic Programming!" by William B. Langdon is a very nice introduction to the field of genetic programming. The book is well structured. It contains most, if not all, references to important previous work on GP, and further extends the range of applicability of GP by investigating the use abstract data structures in evolving genetic programs. Routines to manage abstract data structures (stacks, queues, and list) are evolved by GP. The book also shows some problems where enriching the GP-language with primitives to manage a data structure enables it to solve more complex problems.

Getting the Picture
This is a well-written rolicking ride through the last century and the history of photojournalism in the American media. It has an index that reads like the Who's Who of the century with anecdotes and insights galore on the movers and shakers of photojournalism and history. I enjoyed every word and I recommend it highly.

A fantastic novel through the eyes of a great man
I just finished reading this novel and I must admitt it is one of the best novels I have read this year. It really is an exciting travel through the 20th century, through the eyes of a man who's carreer made him involved with major political and social events. I would say this is a must to anyone interested in photography and journalism, and a recommended for anyone with a heartbeat. I really loved this book.

Hugs for the Hurting Screen Saver
I have the screen saver and it is beautiful. Each day there is a soothing background, with uplifting quotes. There is also a more extensive quote available. It starts my day off perfectly, and we really appreciate it.

Fast track to soothing the soul
This is a book that made me feel as if it was written especially for me. It inspires as it soothes the soul. Its light reading and yet powerful. It touched me as no other book ever has and will always be by my bedside for those times when I need that special Hug. What wonderful book for a person who is being challanged emotionally or physically. Everyone should experince at least one Hug! Its a keeper.

Intellectually Challenging and Practical
I-Way Robbery is an innovative and authoritative guide forprofessionals charged with defending businesses' and governmentagencies' information assests against persons who use the I-Way for criminal, unethical and immoral purposes. Casual and small business users will also be enlightned about some of the dangers they face and what they may do to manage their risks. The authors have carefully identified the most significant problems and issues confronting I-Way users and have provided detailed approaches for their solutions. Emphasis is on "anticipate and prevent" and if something happens the readers of this book will be prepared.

Must read book for security and law enforcment professionals
The "Information System Security Officer's Guide" was a gem which offered the readers sound basic fundamentals on establishing and managing an information protection program. The follow-up "I-Way Robbery" is an equally excellent, easy to read and understandable treatise on a very complicated, challenging, and sophisticated theme of Internet crime and security. The authors have provided numerous examples of illegal intrusion of the of the Internet and have cited recommended solutions to prevent and avoid unauthorized and costly attacks by hackers, phreakers, crackers, and even foreign commercial and government agencies traveling on the I-Way which they analgously compared it to the modern Superhighways. This book is an excellent companion to the ISSO Guide and should be included as a reference book for security and law enforcement professions. It is also a must read book for executives, managers and supervisors to understand their responsiblities for effective management and operation of their connections to the Internet as we head into the new millennium.

This is a very good and informative book

Best International Business Textbook
I use this textbook and its previous edition to teach International Business to senior level students in cyberspace. I consider this the most readable text on the subject. This edition has been slimmed down from the previous edition, and it is an improvement to an excellent text. My students agree that this text is great.

Anyone who needs a comprehensive book on this field should purchase this text, it is worth every penny!

Order of the supplementary publications
I am at present using textbook "International Business", by John D. Daniels, Lee H. Radebaugh. Eighth Edition. I would be very grateful if you could Fax me as soon as possible the necessary forms to order one copy each of the supplementary publications: -Instructor's Resource Manual. -Study Guide. -Test Bank

Here's how you can do it: you can buy all of McPhee's books, or

A great writer writing about great things - you'll feel like you're in the middle of the Sierra yourself. Endlessly enjoyable.

Lovers of Muir, find your home in this volume!
In a world brimming with wonderful volumes of the work of John Muir, here is the one edition in which you may find virtually everything you seek. To find it in such a handsome, handy, easy to negotiate book makes this a must for all lovers of Muir's writing. Eight inches tall by six wide and two inches thick, it is a durable and willing partner for excursions through the wilderness. Created for long life among library shelves and scholarly studies, this sleek little friend stows away quite comfortably in backpack or oversized coat pocket. Those who don't know Mr. Muir will meet the great lover of wildness (and perhaps history's most influential advocate of preservation) presented in a lovingly researched volume which includes informative notes on the evolution of Muir's field journal entries into published pieces, a chronology of his life and literary career, and all of the major writings for which he is known. A generous selection of his published essays and magazine articles reveal many previously unsuspected jewels of poetic prose. As a lifetime devotee of the works of Shakespeare, the Bible, and the immortal Scottish bard Robert Burns, Muir could recite extensive passages from all. Likewise, his writing breezes through the imagery and lessons drawn from these potent sources. Coffee table books brimming with Ansel Adams photography, biographies of Muir, and collections of his correspondence are all aspects of any comprehensive Muir collection. The words themselves, however, simple and elegantly bound, are where the journey might well begin.

Journals of Lewis and Clark: A New Selection

Excellent Reading
Read right from the journals, alternating between Lewis and Clark (and so designated), their account of discovery, bravery, survival, not to mention sheer luck at times. This book cannot replace the editorials and depth of "Undaunted Courage" by Stephen Ambrose; but it is very enjoyable and informative to read directly from the authors of this historic expedition. I am amazed at everything they accomplished (including finding the time and energy to write journal entries).

Edited version of the journals of Lewis and Clark
John Bakeless takes the journals of both Lewis and Clark and edits them into this fascinating, primary account. He concentrates mainly on thejournal entries for the journey to the Pacific. This is a good, well-priced shortened version of the journals, with only the highlights, for Lewis and Clark fans.
