Our son adores this book. He knows it by heart and wants to read it again and again. The moving "pop-up" parts are manageable for someone with typical 3-year old fine motor skills.

i got this book for my nephew and he loved it! He loves to pretend that he is in the space shuttle.....he has me read it over and over.....the best part about the book is that it is interactive and that children can make up their own stories when playing with it.....it's great for the imagination.....the authors' other books are just as good:)

Very colorful, and wonderfully written. This book is about a little boy Max and his pig. As you turn each page it takes you through all of the steps in growing a plant from the seed to the final flower. Whats better is that each page has some type of activity like moving tabs, pop up pictures or lift the flap. Overall with few lines to a page it is a wonderful story for all youngsters, and its scientific!

Our Children's Librarian used this book for my daughter's ToddlerTime class the day that we planted sunflower seeds, and all the children LOVED "Max Loves Sunflowers." The bright colors, simple line-drawings and movement on every page captured the interest of all the two-year-olds in the class. I highly recommend this book for youngsters; kids can watch the sunflower "grow" from seed to seedling to a huge plant. Very entertaining, colorful, and fun!

One hundred and one trucks are on the move in this lift-the-flap book featuring a traffic jam of big rigs filled with 101 movie-making props, costumes and other tools of the film trade. "Gigantic cranes, a stunt-performing plane, windows and drapes, boots and capes, a variety of trees, performing fleas..." The list goes on and on as tots peek inside 101 trucks carrying rhyming loads on five two-page spreads. Even by the final page ("Rollin' in...Looking good...the stars are out...Hollywood!"), little ones will won't likely understand the common thread uniting all the odd contents, but what does that really matter? The fun is in the rhythm, rhymes and hands-on discovery, and the intrinsic charm of a toddler lift-the-flap book that shift gears to avoid wallowing in standard cutsey-wootsey tactics. Keep on truckin'!

Thank god - not another Accountancy textbook that just looks pretty sitting on my shelf ! UK GAAP covers all the areas you need on a day to day basis as a student right through to director level. Approaches all the topics from different angles ; eg the rules, how they apply, the variations, and most importantly specific examples of their use in UK companies - and all in clear English. Regular updates from the publishers are sent on the latest accountancy issues and changes once you register - saves time in the library. Also recommended is the CD-Rom version for quick and easy look-ups , especially when on the move.

'The Games Climbers Play' is simply the largest and best climbing anthology I have ever read so far. Wilson draws material from climbing periodicals like Climbing, Ascent, Scottish Mountaineering and other obscure magazines. Originally published in 1980, the articles were mostly written in the 60's and 70's. Most of the articles are the best works from British climbing clubs and magazines that the American climber doesn't have easy access to. The topics include everything from sport climbing to expedition climbing. I found every single article entertaining and that is saying a lot considering there are over one hundred articles included.

This is a charming pop-up based on a familiar rhyme. Kids love building, and it's also fun to let them know how houses get there!

This is a great book for pre-K or kindergarten kids. It explains Kwanzaa in simple language with rhymes that make it fun. The large shapes and bright intense colors appeal to kids this age. And the flaps are big, easy for little hands to grasp, and not easily torn. This is a book that was needed, so I'm glad to find it.

My kids asked for this again and again -- even the 6 and 8 year olds! I think "alphabet of feelings" gave them a way to understand what they were going through -- from to "brave" to "worried", "yucky" or even "zippy".

Nathan and Wilson score on this collaboration! Great for pastors and church leaders looking for guidance in how to have a church that is both strong in Word and strong in Spirit. This book, along with Doug Banister's Word and Power Church, argues convincingly that the best of the Evangelical and Charismatic worlds can be mutually embraced. The authors write carefully and thoughtfully as they strike a balance between the often characterized two extremes: mind and emotion.

The only weakness of this book is that it is difficult to keep up with who wrote what. I frequently found myself thumbing back several pages to try to place who exactly was sharing a personal story (Nathan or Wilson?).

If you are extremely Pentecostal or extremely anti-charismatic, you will probably disagree with the conclusions drawn in this book, but if you have an open mind, "Take up and read!"

Empowered Evangelicals serves as an excellent resource to help dispell fear in seeking MORE of God's presence and power in a more experiential way in church life. Coming from a conservative evangelical background, the book helped me feel more comfortable with the new wave of renewal and the resulting manifestations. A satisfying discussion of two worlds that need not clash but merge to be one burning church on fire to reach the lost and heal wounded people.

I enjoyed the thoughts of both Nathan and Wilson. I was a member of the church that R. Nathan pastors at, when I left it was to take a staff position at the church I currently am at. When at Nathan's church, I became very trusting of him because of his preaching the Truth in humility. Therefore, as a result of my deep appreciation for Nathan's faith in Christ, I may be a bit bias in my review. The book gives sincere examination of both classes, Evangelicals, and Charismatics. The examination is performed with the purpose of unifying the body of Christ. A kind of "best of both worlds" approach. My friends, Jesus desires much more unity among believers, and this book is a service to that desire. I reccomend this book to all. Peace.

My two-year-old son loves this book but he has already destroyed more than fifty percent of it after two months of use.

This book has many interesting features, from radio sets connected by string, to "radar blips" on a screen in a cockpit, little planes "flying" through the sky, to a steering wheel that changes the view out windscreen as you "come in for a landing--and that isn't even half of the activities in the book.

The problem is that it requires a high degree of fine motor skill to operate many of the activities. The "radar blips" were difficult for me to spin, for example, and the steering wheel kept getting stuck until mommy tore it in one of her many attempts to "Fix it!" under pressure. My son also removed all of the little "flying airplanes" in less than a week of play.

Don't get me wrong--my son still LOVES this book, despite the fact that it is now falling apart! He has a blast using the things that still work, and explaining to me how the things that are broken used to work.

I would recommend waiting until a child is at least four before buying this book for them unless they are very careful players or there will be parental help all the time it is in use.

And, I would like to add that the girls in my son's playgroup loved this book as well--it is DEFINITELY not just for boys!

I am writing in response to the reviewer who said that the book is especially great for boys. (let's not gender-type!) This is our daughter's favorite book. She is 13 1/2 months now and it has been her absolute favorite since we started reading it to her when she was just a few months old and we just ordered a second copy because hers is so tattered from use. Highly recommended for girls as well! :)
