Excellent book!
This book gives very easy access to problems encountered in surgical settings. It is organized by complaints rather than diseases. Also, it is very esasy to follow. These are it's chapters:

abdominal pain, bowel funktion (constipation and diarrhea), chest pain, drug reactions, dysrhytmias, falls fever, fluids-electrolytes-acid-base-status, gi-bleeding, glucose management and nutrition, hedache, hypertension, hypotension and chock, insomnia, intravascular access,

leg pain, mental changes, nausea, pain management, preop preparation, pronouncing death, postop bleeding, seizures, shortness of breath, syncope, tubes and draines, urine output changes, wounds. It also has some appendices including redaing x-rays and ECGs, antibiotic standard doses and guidlines. And finally a very informative part including proprietary names of common medications (with therapeutic class, indications, actions, side effects, dose and special notes). Fits easilly in to your pocket. Accordingly it is a real treassure I would say.

helpful, smart, and compact without being a mere outline
I began a complete reading of Shakespeare and along the way I started browsing secondary works here and there, and this one really began to stand out for me. The layout of the book makes it easy to browse, and the individual takes on each play are unpredictable though not eccentric. For instance plays that are generally universally regarded as substandard Shakespeare (such as Timon of Athens or Pericles) are given the benefit of the doubt that maybe their worth lies in other areas than where the general run of criticism has determined it should lie. The chapters for each play are not too long, and they're broken up into useful sections (story, main characters, general criticism, performance history, etc)... The Complete Works of Shakespeare is one of the few summit works of the world, and a person really shouldn't get to weighted down with secondary works about the plays themselves, but this book is very compact and to the point and helpful and worth having if you're just going to have a few secondary works to help you along...

A dazzling experiment in literary analysis
Honesty requires a disclaimer. Booth is a friend and colleague. But I would react similarly if I didn't know the author. If there were six stars, I would award them to Precious Nonsense. Booth takes familiar texts that seem all too clear and obvious and makes us see a multitude of things going on beneath their surfaces. His discoveries are startling and sometimes you want to argue with him, but because he puts his cards on the table he makes argument possible. What he shows demonstrates the difference between great prose and verse and ordinary writing, and reveals the similarity between the operation of literary art and that of music. Booth is phenomenally sensitive and deeply learned, and he has a terrific memory. A bonus is his style: he , in making us see how much goes on in such art that we are never is clear, convesatonal, and often funny, This is a revolutionary book.

Excellent Books
This 2 book series tells about Orange County's fascinating history of it's railroads. It's very detailed about the lines, what ran on them and what was moved, around here it was mostly food!
Many photos from the later 1800s showing Orange County how it used to look.(When El Toro was El Toro and NOT Lake Forest)It's fun recognising from newer pictures the areas known to me.

If you can find this book, it's great. An Orange County railfan's must in their collection!

About The Sound And The Fury
After reading the Sound And The Fury, one cannot but describe Faulkner's book as a work of genius. It is so full of creativeness and passion that you just go on turning pages without realising. It is a story told from four perspectives, of the disintegration of a Southern family. Indeed the book presents a daunting challenge for all readers.Though difficult to read, the novel left me in awe at the emotions possible from a single string of words. The Sound And The Fury attains heights and depts of expression that are truly breathtaking, it is an unforgettable work that richly rewards the reader's efforts.

Comprehensive, Well Organized, Well Researched
As a real estate investor I often refer to this book when I am in need help making a decision. It is the next best thing to having a seasoned partner who has been through many market cycles. As a Licensed Commercial Real Estate Appraiser and Broker I am impressed with the material as well as how it is presented. While lifetime of practical knoweledge is somehow reduced to a single 900 page plus book, it is not "dumbed down" for mass appeal purposes. Although I was introduced to this book through a course at Boston University I found it's format more interesting than academic. When investing your money in real estate it is better to read a book like this and learn than, to "just do it" and learn the hard way, believe me. This book is a keeper for your professional library.
