Gritty and riveting. The author knows his way around the streets of Chicago and the underbelly of society. If he keeps this up Mr. Whittingham will attain the spot in the hard boiled crime genre that could have gone to the late Eugene Izzi.

Obviously dated but has section on Superbowl XX, which is great with some colour plates, a lot of detail but a bit dry. More of a biography than telling the story of the team.

He has apparently updated to 2000 but is very difficult to find.

Some great old stories but not as good as Bears in Thier Own Words.

The idea is decent and I guess it started out O.K., but after that it just went down hill. Perhaps I'm too harsh, but I'm a cop and have conducted criminal investigations myself. I suppose I did not like this book because it deviated from how an investigation should be conducted. It is obvious that the author has never been a cop. He should stick to writing about sports.
