What a marvelous book to have. Not many of us have the opportunity to see the wonderful collections that were displayed in the gardens of the White House during the Clinton years. This is the one way we can see them! Beautifully pictured with full color photos and great descriptions! A lovely book to have as an historic record of what Scuplture in America was like in the 20th-Century! You may or may not like the Sculptures that were shown - but this book has them all!

This and White's follow-up books Across the Unkwown and the Unobstructed Universe are extremely objective yet cover the deepest levels we can ever hope to understand. Written so that even a beginner can follow yet amazingly profound. I'd also consider it the best self-help book around, as the importance and long-term signifigance of even our smallest acts is stressed throughout. These books focus on YOU and a METHOD OF LIVING, and don't even discuss reincarnation, etc. They focus on the most important issues.

I picked up this book, one night when i couldn't sleep. Hoping to be bored to tears so i could finally drift off. This is not what happened. I found myself staying up all night hanging on Betty's every word, absorbed in her life, and opinions. It provided an escape for a couple hours. I only wish it had been longer! This is one of my favorite books, and I would recomend it to anyone who likes to read. It is a very easy read, but a fantastic one. It may be hard to find because it is out of print, but i urge you to find it! It is a rare gem that people pass up all to often! They look at the cover, and see Betty White, then dismiss it as boring. But you will love it, THAT i can guarentee you. It will set your soul at ease for an hour or two. Just relax with some hot tea, in your favorite chair, and read it. You won't be sorry!

A Day At the Aquarium by Mary Sheldon is a wonderfully written book. It will introduce the exciting world of the aquarium to your child(ren). After reading this book, your child(ren) will be beggging you to take them to the aquarium!

Based on Dr. Jim's years as a talk radio veterinarian, he's organized callers questions into logical subjects. His care and straightforward approach is refreshing and the advice is excellent. It can be read from cover to cover, or used as a reference text. Overall an excellent pet care book!! It's sister book is for dogs.

This is the story of two people that God had His hand upon and the way He directed their lives. The young lady was raised in a missionary family in China and due to illness found herself back in the states. She recovered and continued her education with the goal of returning to China with China Inland Mission. She met her future husband at Moody Bible Institute but though they had fell in love they would not marry. She knew God had called her back to China but he was unsure of the call that God had for him. Both were well educated and very gifted and worked hard to prepare for the place of service God was leading them to. As it turned out God did allow them to end up in the same mission field and they did marry and ministered together. They had a child and all looked to be going well. The chinese communists had other ideas. Both John and Betty were beheaded for their faith. The child was spared. A great number of souls came to know the Lord because of the faith of the and obedience of this young couple. I found myself lost in the story as the author did a wonderful job of detail. An awesome book must read!

I have to remember where the story take place for the mother made me upset with her selfishness and telling Matilda that she was the selfish one. It help to enhance the ending. It is definitely a Cinderella story if ever there was one. I enjoyed the way Matilda worked her way in the villagers hearts and into the doctor's as well. I love Betty Neels and trying to collect every book she ever written. I look forward to reading them all.

For anyone interested in this facinating subject...this book is the "bible!" Thank you Betty Monkman for updating this history and for letting "fans of the White House" like me - be able to learn so much! I truly dream of someday having dinner off some of this china!

As a mountain climber and hiker I have many hobbies. Having always loved dogs (and with a poodle of my own) I love to read and absorb new information on pets.

The book, "The Irrepressible Toy Dog" by Darlene Arden (Howell Books) with a foreward by Actress Betty White, is the most thorough, well-written and all-inclusive book on small, toy dogs I have ever read.

It is a "must have" for every small dog owner (or potential owner) and even veterinarians should have a copy. Ms. Arden covered every question I had and her charming photos captured the true spirit of the "toy" group.

MUST READ!! Highly Recommended and my dog says "Woof, Woof" as well.

Darlene Arden knows and loves toy dogs. She writes about them with thoroughness of research, a sense of humor, and answers to questions that you'd never think to ask but are glad she did. Did you know that toy dogs have been referred to as "barking bedslippers," that Chihuahuas are particularily susceptible to hydrocephalus, that small dogs are harmed by second-hand smoke, that toy dogs live longer and are more vulnerable to geriactric diseases, and that the hairless varieties need sunblock on a bright summer's day? Her book is full of such important information, especially if you have acquired or plan to acquire a toy breed. The drawings and photographs of these toy breeds and her description of the wonderful eccentricities of each breed make the reader more fully understand why owners of toy dogs love them so. Best of all, I could resonate with Darlene Arden's assertion that "a toy dog can be a character without becoming a caricature." Good job of writing!

The Irrepressible Toy Dog is a must for anyone with a toy breed dog or anyone considering one. This book has been well researched and thoughtfully written. I spend great deal of my time on the Internet answering questions from Yorkshire Terrier owners and recommend this book to every one of them. Toy breed dogs are very different from the larger breeds and require many different considerations, and a very different approach to their health care and companionship. I would also like to see this book in the reference library of every veterinarian. Thank you Darlene Arden. You've made an exceptional and wonderful contribution to the health and welfare of the toy breeds

The White Separatist Movement in United States: White Power White Pride is a very fair book written by two Left wing feminists who try very hard to keep their feeling of hate and disgust for us out of the book, and they do a very good job.
This is a well researched book. These ladies spent a lot of money and time traveling America to talk to many people in the movement. They did not just rehash some old ADL reports like most reporters do, and the book is proof of their hard work. This is a fresh look at the movement through the eyes of two Left wing Eggheads. To show you how far to the Left they are, in the back of the book they called the super liberal rag The New Republic a right wing publication. I got a real kick out of that.
This is a great book for an overview of the race movement in America. A lot of good info and most of it is correct, at least from their worldview of us.
These ladies interviewed me last summer for a book on Odinism they are planning to write. I don't know what they're going to call it. Also, a man named Mardell is coming out with a book on Asatru called the Gods of Blood. Which will be coming out soon.

It's really refreshing to read a book that doesn't reinforce the stereotype that pro-white groups/individuals are inbred, backwoods, barefoot rednecks that wear stupid costumes.

The authors provide an even handed and honest assessment of the pro-white movement in the united states. It is well worth the price and a good read.
