The Integrity Crisis/Expanded Edition With Study Guide

The Integrity Alarm
An unmistakable rise is occurring in the number of ministers and ministries that fail. Staggering devastation and shaken faith are the results of careless behavior exhibited by Christian leaders. Men and women alike are earning our trust and breaking it, often with not hint of repentance. While distracting and disappointing to the people who are the Church (universal and local) we dare not collapse in a fit of dispair. Wiersbe approaches the embattled reputation of the church with candor and hope. Two myths that perpetuate a lack of integrity are sufficiently dismantled: 1) when ministers slip-up it does not affect me 2) popularity is an indicator of spiritual strength The author generously provides Biblical proof for the Church as a body where each part has a function and a unified purpose (I Corinthians 12). He then directs our attention to Jeremiah, Nehemiah and John the Baptist because they illustrate how unpopular serving God faithfully can be. These twelve chapters are a current and highly instructive alarm for believers. We are capable and responsible to practice integrity. Wiersbe's illustrations are clear while his suggestions are thoughtful and compelling. The study guide provides an excellent source for group study and review. The Integrity Crisis is an essential tool for reflecting the true image of a comfortable Church.

Every person will profit from reading this book
Just the title already caught my eyes. Here I was in the midst of feeling hopeless about my marriage, not having any desire to work on it anymore and accepting my fate as inevitable when I passed by a row of books in a Christian gathering. Immediately, this understated cover caught my eyes. I didn't have enough cash with me then and managed somehow to gather the coins to buy the book and have been grateful ever since for the information and loving ways that it has conveyed this message.

Yes, there are secrets to developing a better relationship. Neil Clark Warren presents these revelations which most of us know from bits and pieces of other readings into a concise and user friendly method. That it is aimed at making marriages work was painful to begin with since that assumed that one had to have a desire to save his marriage.

Well, the topics and information will be good for any relationship and if it will save some marriages, it would have been all to the credit of the style and layout and content of this book.

I have been writing a series for the newspaper here guided by much of what the book says. My articles are called Food of Love and if that would help any of the readers, they have Mr. Warren to thank. His name is always mentioned in the articles.

More power and blessings to you.

The bible of male feminism
Following publication of this book, Farrell was lauded as "The Gloria Steinem of Male Liberation" by media and popculture outlets.

This was no mere enthusiastic labeling because Farrell followed through and was an active participant in the revitalizing feminist movement. He was an active member of NOW and did regular media appearances with other famous male feminists of the day such as Alan Alda and Phill Donahue to encourage equality.

This book is rightfully described as the male eqivalent of the "Feminine Mystique" because it both crtiiques gender roles using a mix of interviews and social statistics..and contains resources for action. Male Chauvinism also hurts men by constricting them into gender roles that are one-dimensional and narrow instead of allowing them to be multifaceted sensitive individuals.

Although Farrell has since sadly abandoned his own work, this tome remains an important text for feminist theory. Even if much of the social stats are now outdated, the concept of openly encouraging male feminism enmasse remains radical and inspiring to this day.

This book contains short, one-page devotionals designed with the young child in mind. The daily devotional begins with a Bible verse, continues with a short life lesson, and concludes with a suggested prayer. Older children that can read may begin the lesson by reading the Bible verse and all children will enjoy participating in the brief activity included in each day's life lesson.

detailed and useful
This book was a requirement for a class. It was easy to understand and apply. It comes with key terms in the margins for easy review and description. The chapters begin with a learning objective and concludes with a summary of each objective. Each chapter is filled with detailed information and highlights corporations and how they have applied each concept. I would recommend it for anyone constructing an organization or for those wishing to change management styles. It also, has a CD Rom that is incredible.

Great Introduction to God's use of Metaphorical Language
Do you avoid using illustrations/stories in preaching for the sake of getting to the point, focusing exclusively on sound doctrine? This book will show you that far from hindering your goal to report the eternal truths of God to His people, metaphorical communication will advance it . The One who gave us the ultimate standard on theology chose to frequently use concrete language = Christ's teaching was 75% illustrative!
If learning God's Word is supposed to be dull and painful, we might as well take the alchohol out of the Lord's Supper as well..too late!! ; )- Just look at how He meets our needs in life in other areas ... Psalm 104, Acts 14, Song of Solomon.. why should 'feed My sheep' be any different? As He adorns the lilies of the field and feeds the sparrows, so we should take great care to provide good spiritual food for the soul's of His people ...not mere abstractions, but luscious illustrative sermons.. Enjoyed!! : )

[i'm not a pastor yet, but am attending seminary]

I read this book for a sermon prep class, and am now thinking of buying it as a book to look at for future use.
