Outstanding!
PR Visionaries is a remarkable piece of work! It provides you with the techniques and secrets of the best and leading members of the industry, from Ketchum, Porter Novelli, Brodeur Worldwide, and other leading players.

While strong on the strategic side, PR Visionaries is a bit weaker on the tactical side. I don't hold the editors responsible for this, however, as this is not a how-to manual, per se. For the tactical side, I found Guerrilla PR: Wired by Michael Levine to be a more than adequate resource.

PR Visionaries, as the title says, has the giants of the public relations industry tell you how to get noticed, build a brand, develop and protect a reputation, and how to be effective with key opinion-leaders, including the CEO. While it might be overly dramatic to say the book spills their secrets, PR Visionaries covers the various facets on how to successfully manage a powerful public relations campaign on all levels, one that clearly resonates with key stakeholders and publics.

this book was an excellent find as it is so difficult to find literature about individual artists of this era out side of exhibitions. the contents is fasinating telling you of his life during the later part of the 19th century into the early part of the last century. Good clear diagrams and photos with brilliant footnotes. A must for any art nouveau fan.

The Space Race, Environmentalism, and Talking Animals!
Zoonauts: The Secret of Animalville is the freshest children's novel I've read in decades! It begins with a gangbuster science fiction "school report" by Jen, the teen youth of the Stroud Family - the "keepers" of Animalville. Through an incredible story by a talking parrot we learn the secret of this top-secret research facility for very smart animals.
It was only September, but Jen could see it was already turning into a bad school year. Perhaps it was fun for her younger brother, Cody, but having animals cooking, cleaning and doing taxes made it so hard to have any friends. Plus the whole place was top secret! How could she NOT tell even her best friend Sara anything about her family?
Truth is, no children had ever grown up in the kind of family as the Strouds. While their non-human nursemaids took care of them and taught them things no human children had learned, Jen was getting tired of telling other girls that they couldn't visit her at home. Oh, sure, she went to their places, but usually with some animal, watching everything she did. She felt like she was being spied on. It was too much to bear. Jen was deep in gloom as she left school that day. But you are certain to have a smile on your face as you read this amazing tale. The text, by renowned Hollywood scriptwriter Richard Mueller, is illustrated by Dal Chele - known for Scooby Doo, Spiderman, Robocop, The Real Ghostbusters, Fat Albert and The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, to name just a few!

Agreat book
I thought this was a really good book. I'm thirteen now , but I read a Chicken Soup For the soul book for the first time when I was twelve. I have Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul 2 and 3. And my younger brother recently got Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul. Some of the stories I read didn't apply to me, but I still enjoyed reading them, and seeing how the different people overcame different situations. I was especially touched by one story entitled " Tell Me Why You cry" in Chicken Soup for the teenage Soul two. But I won't say what is was about. I'll let you find out for yourself. Because every teenage kid, or twelve and eleven year-olds should read these books. Because whether they make an impact on your life or not, they will show you that you can overcome anything if you try.

A DESERVED FIVE STARS!
I give this book 5 stars. I didn't realize there were all those people out there who have experienced so many of the same feelings as I have. The writers of "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III" have inspired these people to write their stories, and send them in, so teens all over the world can share their laughter and tears. This book helps teens and young adults realize that they're not the only one in their position and that there are millions of people just like them all over the world, experiencing heartaches, hate, and love. It helps you realize that you can be all you can be, without worrying about what other people think, and it lets you know that there are many other people out there in your shoes. "I know a little about who I am, and who I can be, regardless of what my friends think or say," says Shad Powers, a teen that submitted his story into "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul". This book will help you cope with the bitterness or cruelty of the world, while adding understanding into your life. I learned a lot of lessons from reading this book, and I know many of them will stick with me throughout my entire life. I enjoyed "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III" very much, and I recommend it for anyone who needs a good laugh, a good cry, or maybe just a good read.

Worth buying. . .good read for all teens!
I love the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul books. I own all three of them, and even submitted my own story to the 4th one, if there will be a 4th one. I couldn't wait for this book to come out and begged my mom to buy it for me for Christmas. These books, not just the 3rd one, but all, are strong and inspiring to all adolescents. I'm 15, so, believe me, I know. Some stories are funny, some sad, some happy, all inspirational and honest. They fill you in about girlfriends/boyfriends lost, losing parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, dealing with a friend who has an eating disorder, etc. It isn't just about love and relationships. It's about life and school, and other teenage stuff. These books make you feel like you're not alone, and don't we all feel like we are alone. When I read them, it was like they were reading my mind. I love these books, and I'm so attached to them, I won't let them leave my house, and all my friends have to go to a library to read them because I won't let them borrow them. But anyway, I recommend them for anyone who wants to read them, but mainly teens. They really are great books.

An excellent text
This book is a revised edition of the original text by Bloomfield, Crothers, and Tinoco. A previous book written by this team discusses the Physical Chemistry of Nucleic Acids. The team continues in that tradition of good writing here.

It seems that the standard text for the study of nucleic acids is that by Saenger. But this text is also strong, to use either side by side with Saenger, or even on its own.

Illustrations are clear (although, no really pretty pictures except at the very end), and the writing is quite fluid and intelligible. This book, however, is not a book for beginners (ie. a person who's never read up on nucleic acids before). There tends to be some presupposition in the knowledge and technical jargon such that I think it would better serve as a reference for more advanced students and scientists.

The authors are recognized in the scientific world as being experts in their field, so it comes as no surprise that the text is full of good information.

Where the book falls short is as follows. The book is not very even in terms of the topics it covers. Another downside is that the book fails to discuss many of the newer experimental methods and discoveries, and in that sense is more out of date than you would like.

A good way to compensate for the two aforementioned problems is to supplement your reading with a text like Saenger, and to keep up to date with the current journal literature (if you're interested in methods, the first place to look is a place like Meth. Enzym.; if you're interested in reviews and other articles, turn to journals like Cell, Nature, Science, PNAS, and Biochemistry. If you're into more specialized stuff, consider these journals: 1)Nucleic Acids Research, and 2)RNA ).

Good luck.

Conflict Management: A Communications Skills Approach
An excellent book for every manager seeking an approach to managing conflict. The book is written with the understanding that one can't always resolve conflict. However, a five step process is given which allows for it's successful managing. Through Assessment, Acknowledgement, Attitude, Action and Analysis (5A's) the reader will form a firm base to anticipate and management conflict. The chapters on gender differences, cross-cultural awareness and how writing styles cause conflict are very timely.

Should be a required reading book, part of world heritage.
Although a translation, and we know that all translations pale in comparaison to it's original, it should be a required reading book for anyone under the age of 18. Just like The Art of War, by Sun Tzu. Although they are unique to their individual gender, these two books should rest in everyone's library.

The VICTORS : EISENHOWER AND HIS BOYS: THE MEN OF WORLD WAR II

Good intro, not for the well read however!
Ambrose squeaked this one out in my opinion. It is essentially a cut and paste compilation of "Citizen Soldiers" and "Eisenhower" and "Band of Brothers". If this is your first Ambrose book, you will find it enjoyable. If this is the ONLY book you read about WWII, it is a fair choice, however, if you have read any of Ambroses other work, then I wouldn't bother.

Ambrose clearly has fallen under Ike's cult of personality, and although Ike was a great politician and a compassionate man, he was not a master strategist and many of his decisions cost unnecessary lives in my opinion.

This book trys to capture the sweep of the US involvement in W.W.II. European Theater in one text of similar length to Ambrose's other works. It may be that books thicker than this don't sell well and that is why Ambrose only included the limited material that he did because this book leaves you wanting. It is rich in details about details, but misses other large happenings. In my opinion, it is better to read "D-Day", "Citizen Soldiers", "Band of Brothers" and "A Bridge too Far" and to skip this book altogether.

Sort of a best of Stephen Ambrose
I have read most of the books by Ambrose and the material in The Victors is covered better in his other works. It isn;t bad, but the only reader who might find it interesting is someone who was looking to get into Ambrose's WWII works. Anyone else but the completists will probably not enjoy this book.

The Story of Young Boys Becoming Men for the Defeat of Evil
Stephen Ambrose has crafted a wonderful popular history of a tale that should, and must, be told to every generation of Americans and Europeans. This story must remain in our hearts and witness that there is such a thing as objective evil and that we, all of us, have an obligation to stand up for the good.

To that end, Stephen Ambrose, has marvelously depicted the lives of Eisenhower's men in battle. This book is a complilation of several other books written by Ambrose. Therefore, if you have read the others, you may be disappointed by this book. Nonetheless, for the first time reader of an Ambrose book, I can say that this book needed to be written.

The book ends with the following: "What I think of the GIs more than a half century after their victory was best said by Sgt. Mike Ranney of the 101st: 'In thinking back on the days of Easy Company, I'm treasuring my remark to a grandson who asked, 'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' No, I answered, but I served in a company of heroes.' So far as I am concerned, so did they all."

Ambrose has compiled quite a compendium of oral histories and preserved the memories of these soldiers in print. The reader will not be disappointed by Ambrose's casual style because it conveys a sense of brotherhood, of victory. This is no stale tome of history which recites dates and facts ad nauseum. Rather, it is a story of boys becoming men for the defeat of evil. One soldier remarked as he entered a concentration camp and saw the harm and hate down to innocents that "Now I know why I am here."

We should also know why this war was fought. Therefore, read this book, treasure it and pass it on to your children.
