Mark Taylor's new edition of his book gives great insight on what to look for when shopping for a computerized shipping system. The chapter about "free" shipping systems is definitely eye-opening. A "must-read" for everyone in logistics management. The information on savings in the shipping department that can be realized through a computerized shipping system is simply amazing. I was very impressed with Mr. Taylor's knowledge. The new case study in this edition shows us in details how companies save large sums yearly by using a computerized shipping system.

While shipping of packages is important to so many businesses, it's getting more complicated every day. The author has done his homework and explains the many advantages of a computerized shipping system in clear terms. This is also a consumer-oriented book: you learn what NOT to do. I like the honesty and passion of the author. He's packed a lot into a concise book; share it with staff at all levels of your business. At 25 bucks, what a bargain.

I read this book a couple of years ago and have been trying to find out where I can purchase it as a gift. It is truly an inspirational book about the trials and tribulations of Eula Hendricks-McClaney and her two daughters. I remember while reading the book, I could even taste some of the food that was being prepared. It inspired me to prepare some of those same down home recipes. The book was very uplifting and inspiring and I want to get another copy. If anyone has information on where to obtain a copy , please have the information forwarded to this address. "Lawrence the Laughing Cookie Jar" has something for everyone, it is truly a wonderful book. My grandkids love every bit of the book and make me read it over and over to them---they are especially fond of Reggie the dog. I also found it interesting that a jar is actually a jar in Will Marks' world, not a Safeway sourball. As a grandpa and erstwhile disciplinarian, I admire Marks' style by having the cookie jar laugh hysterically when the kids attempt to take more cookies. While my Phys Ed measures were far more draconian, Marks shows that you don't need to be Colonel Jessup from "A Few Good Men" to properly discipline kids. They are far better off learning from their own mistakes...the cookie jar is a kind way of teaching an important lesson in life.

This was a great 2nd book for Marks. As a bachelor for years, Marks provided me with many simple recipes in his initial epic instructional, "No More Mac and Cheese". The gazpacho soup recipe was my favorite, so easy I could throw it together in the back of my Vanagon or in the comfort of my PE office---although the aroma never overcame the jocks in the locker room!! Every meal was always finished off with a nice couple of jars, usually the ones left over from the glandular kids who got only 0+ on the pullup bar (apologies to Otis). I look forward to more from Marks.

The kids aren't happy with the ration of one cookie each; but they face an impossible barrier to more: a laughing cookie jar which loudly chuckles when they try to get more. Josephine Taylor's whimsical drawings enhances William C. Marks' fun story of trying to get the most from a cookie jar - through creative theft.

It's one of those books your kid makes you read over and over again long after you get sick of it (after 45 reads for me, which is a record). I give it as a gift to every new parent. You'll dig it.

This book was a regular in our house when my brother, sister and I were young. Everything about it tickled us. We went on our own adventures in the great outdoors, exploring everywhere. Luckily I have been able to borrow it through inter library loan so I can share it with my children. It should be re released, and in the original form, no updated illustrations for this one!It is fine as is.

It's a shame this is out of print, as it's one of my most fondly remembered books from childhood. It inspired my brother and me to set out on our own neighborhood exploration when we moved to a new city--back in the day when a parent could let a six-year-old and a four-year-old roam suburban streets without worry.

Unfortunately, it must never have been widely read. I've never met anyone else who remembers it. That's a sad fate for such a good book.

"Henry the Explorer" is a gorgeous picture book about an imaginative boy who, having read about polar explorers, takes his dog ("Laird Angus McAngus") and several flags with an "H" on them and sets out to explore the snowy town he lives in. Eventually he goes off into the woods, where he discovers a cave. Seeing some rocks shaped like a bear, Henry is frightened and runs outside. (There is much comic irony to this moment, as Henry is only frightened by rocks, while the viewer can see what he can't, that there are real though harmless-looking bears asleep behind the rocks!) Now it is dark, and a party of neighbors has been sent to look for Henry. In another comic twist, Henry goes around in circles while the search party follows in circles, and never the twain meet. Henry arrives nonchalantly home, and the search party shows up eventually to be welcomed in for coffee while Henry goes up to bed. There he reads about exploring the jungle, and we are left to wonder what ideas that will put in his head! My summary does scant justice to the beauty of the painted illustrations, the memorable images, the gentle humor, or the genuine excitement of this story. Kids will not forget it.

Most orthopaedic surgeons are aware of Hoppenfeld's Anatomical Exposures text...this is the other one, which is just as important and helpful for the general or specialist orthopod. For residents who often are in a quandary regarding routine followup and rehabilitation goals with regards to patients, this paperback proves invaluable. Chief residents who often run clinics will find this as an excellent tool for evaluating the progress of their patients postop. Another excellent text with self explanatory illustrations and photographs.

One Tiny Baby was my 10 year old son's first book. Somewhere during those 10 years we'd lost it and just a faint memory of it remained. When our daughter came along two years ago, I desperately wanted it to be her first book also and the great quest to find it began. I found the book to be extremely cheap if ordered used but was worried about the condition I would receive it in, however, desperation won out and I ordered it anyway.
When the package came the whole family ripped into it like it was a great Christmas present. We were totally shocked to receive a "used" book in such great condition. It looked like a new book. We were all very pleased.
As I read it to my son for the first time in a long time, we all cried. It feels like a lost piece of our family has been returned. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. We'll treasure this book forever.

This book is a counting book, from one to ten.

It is a fun book with excellent illustrations that talks about the birth of Jesus, starting with one tiny baby. Other numbers are the possible sheep, puppies, spiders, and roosters in the stable. Angels and shepherds are also counted. Two pages are used for each number until the book ends. The last two pages are miniatures of the book. On one page each character is placed next to the others like it, so the sets build one side of a triangle; the other page lists the numbers again without the poetry that was in the book to make it easy to read.

There is actually nothing specifically about Christmas in the book. It is just about the nativity. But since my family has read it every year since it came out during the Christmas holidays, I think of it as a Christmas book.

As an open partisan of Mark Taylor's scholarhip, I was delighted to find that he has outdone himself in SHAKESPEARE'S IMITATIONS. His prose sparkles with a bravura wit truly inspired by the verbal and structural play of Shakespeare's own invention. SHAKESPEARE IMITATIONS tackles the best of the best: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, HENRY IV, PART 1, HAMLET, and THE TEMPEST. With great yet unassuming erudition and with an unflagging perceptiveness, Taylor pursues the kaleidoscopic question of Shakespeare's mirrorings of antiquity, of contemporary literature, and of his own creations. Even on the rare occasions when I find myself disagreeing with him, Taylor's arguments compel a re-thinking of these four great plays and a renewed appreciation of the infinite capacity of Shakespeare's (to say nothing of Taylor's) imagination.

Andre Gide's concept of the mise en abyme which has become a wide-ranging and controversial tool in literary understanding is deftly applied here by Mark Taylor to four of Shakespeare's most complex plays. Although the theoretical background is French and thus somewhat elliptical in expression, Taylor's prose is fresh, clear, and a pleasure to read. Difficult matter gracefully communicated.

To read this book (for me) was like wading through mud. But the result was definitely worth it. This book explored the things that Taylor didn't (or was unable) to write in "Erring: a Postmodern A/Theology." Among other things, he traces the link between Christianity and Captitalism, the lack of distinction between "real" and "virtual," and concludes with how we can begin to live with the "nothing" that is always looming but never really present.
