A truly mystic book
A truly amazing book. although i found this book a little hard to understand but once i got used to the language i found it very interesting. It says "world is an illusion' and through different philisophical and physical phenomenon has proven it to be correct ( atleast to me). a really good bokk the reader has to wear the writers shoes in order to understand it and enjoy it to its fullest

A journey
Talbot opens the book with an introduction that gives the reader some idea of where he's going. The first several chapters lay down a quick ground work, introducing the reader to the old physics' universal precepts. He then goes into what new areas of quantum research are uncovering and postulating, and ties it in with mostly eastern mystical thought: Tantra, Buddhism, and the in-betweens. He makes references to specific cases, specific theories, and specific thinkers, past and present. The work is overall well written and well cited, very coherent and unesoteric. I recommend the book to anyone looking for an explaination for what they can't explain and who is not satisfied with occidental mythoi.

10,000 Years Worth Of Mystics Cant Be Wrong
this book likes to do the same thing over and over again. tell you about some bizarre concept that mystics have had for thousands of years, and then tell you that the new physics backs up those concepts. you keep thinking, 'maybe this time physics will be completely at odds with this bizarre concept.' but no. so as you can see it gets kind of predictable. but maybe ive given away too much. oh well, i might as well tell you a little more while im at it. none of this is real. so why does it seem real? what exactly is it that seems real but in reality is not? what is real if anything? and what is it that thinks its perceiving reality? and this process of thinking, is it real? and this word process, is it valid? or does its implication that time is passing destroy its validity? all these questions are raised, answered, explained why they are not valid questions and then dismissed. TRUTHTRUTHTRUTHTRUTHTRUTHTRUTHTRUTH. read up children. youll either find new wonders all around you or kill yourself or turn into pure energy.

Your Past Lives: A Reincarnation Handbook

A very good beginner's guide book
I have been learning about and exploring the topic of reincarnation for a long time now. In the past, I have only read books that were full of documentation. Some of these had a little bit on how to discover your own past lives. However, I always wanted more. This book provided that for me. Contrary to the other books that I had read in the past, this book talks about various methods and how to utilize them for your own self discovery. Michael Talbot not only explains how to use these methods in a way that anyone can follow, but he backs it up with some documentation of his own experiences as well as others. I feel that if anyone wants to learn more about their past lives and themselves as a whole, this would be an excellant starting point. I recommend it to anyone who can find a copy, and hope that it will one day come back into print.

A pleasant surprise
This is not at all what I was expecting: well written, accommodating to sceptics and, all in all, a very practical tool for exploring the subconscious. Jolly well done, Mr. Talbot! The book could do with a decent cover though...and is it really necessary to include "PhD" after the name of one of the reviewers (as if this were a guarantee of authority and intellectual weight)?

Post-Cold War Foreign Policy
Beschloss and Talbott spin a tremendously absorbing narrative about the collapse of communism. They describe in detail the summits, conversations and debates that took place between Gorbachev and his foreign minister on one side and George Bush on the other. Their main focus is the foreign policy of the Bush administration. Their prose flows well, their anecdotes are interesting their characters are engaging. They only rarely fall into the trap of overly-journalistic prose. Their description of George Bush and his role is a bit under-stated; they focus more on George Schlutz and James Baker. The book is surprisingly straightfoward concerning the opionions of the power elite and their concerns about creating a "culture of compliance." The best part in the book describes the Malta Summit of '89, where Bush and Gorbachev meet on a ship off the Island of Malta amidst a violent storm. This book, while good, misses a couple of crucial areas of the Cold War. There is not a single reference to formerly-communist Yugoslavia, a country whose war in the early 1990's was both bloody and protracted. References to Gorbachev's frustration with the World Bank and the GATT/WTO deserve better examination. The book is at its best describing the spirited jargon and one-liners of the wonks, politicos and statesmen.
