Well Written!
This book was so well written I could hardly put it down. While it made me cry at times, it also made me laugh as well. I would recommend this book to anyone
Love Lost, Love Found
This is a wonderful book for country folk and country folk wannabees. It touches the heart with tear-jerking scenes, while laughable at other times, just like country music. Tears and laughter - Fiction at its best!

Fascinating
I found the short articles in this collection to be quite fascinating. When I first saw the book, I really thought nothing of it, until I opened it up - I couldn't put it down. I was compelled to read every single article, advertisement, etc. It's a fun coffee table book that's quite a conversation piece. If I hadn't ventured to Stonington, ME, I would have never discovered this great find!!

Great, to-the-point resource
This is a great book for those who have little time to spend reading an entire book from cover to cover. You can read whatever you are interested in or what you need at that moment, due to it being divided by subject.
Most all of the chapters held great advice, lots of things I'll be trying. Some were a bit heavy, for example, death of a child, etc. But just about everything is covered.
From a biblical standpoint, it seemed to be pretty on target with God's teachings, and how to handle your children, regardless of age.
I would recommend this as a purchase (in paperback for cost savings) and a keeper!

Lieutenants Lady
This book is about a girl, Linnie, and her spoiled cousin, Cynthia. Linnie is visiting her cousin's family, and meets Lt. Norman Stafford at a party. She greatly admires him, because he seems to show respect for her, and is more mature than other men. However, Norman is in love with Cynthia, and that night, he proposes to her. Cynthia is a flirt, and ends up eloping with George Hemming, another young man. Linnie is in anguish, for she secretly is in love with Norman. She takes the tickets that Norman had intended for Cynthia, and gets on a steamboat headed for the fort at which he is at. You'll have to read to find out what happens next!

Beautiful
Packed with gorgeous photographs. Great design inspiration. Mostly interiors and "patio" settings of current homes, many overlooking hills. Not a historical record, this book features contemporary homes, many with mediterranean and modern design influences mixed with the Majorcan architecture and palette.
Metric Pattern Cutting

Great book for beginners, but has one fault!
this book is great for the novice dressmaker. It provides guidelines for taking accurate body measurements and includes a comprehensive step-by-step guide for drafting patterns for today's modern designs. However, for those of who are totally new to the idea of sewing, you need to buy a book which tells how to piece together the pattern pieces.
Otherwise, it's a great buy!

Miss Bishop
This book is about small town life, and a lady who made a difference. Ella Bishop is the perfect example of devoted daughter and friend, she takes care of her senile mother, she raises her cousin's (who stole her own fiancee) daughter after her parents die, and she teaches school for an extremely long time, influencing the lives of many students, not without heartache, of course, but she remains strong through it all. This was amore solemn book, I thought, it wasn't as upbeat and lively as 'The Cutters', but it was a good book, nonetheless. Miss Bishop is an upstanding citizen, who is never afraid and always willing to help, and we should learn from her example.

recommendable book
This is an interesting and readable book, but mainly concentrated in the yearning & admiration of Northern Europeans for Italia et Graecia. I was expected from the title a more comprehensive survey-book on the mediterranean male/male love relationships .

very interesting book, but.....
Although this is a very interesting and useful book, almost of all entries are so-called "the westerners" with a few exceptions ; e.g. Mishima Yukio. And I don't understand the reason why the editors included "Anita Bryant" in the book. I think she is suitable to be listed in "Who's Who in Contemporary Homophobic-syndrome patients". Or the editors meant she also is a kind of "self-abhorrent homosexual" like Sanctus Paulus et Sanctus Augustinus ? I'd like to know the reason, if they don't mind.
