Excellent educational and fun activity for young children
This book was a gift for my niece, and she loved using it. She became the first child in her kindergarten class to know how to tell time using a clock face, and this book is definitely the reason why.

The Life of Nelson A. Rockefeller: Worlds to Conquer 1908-1958

An engrossing and suprisingly quick read
This book was a finalist for the National Book Award and it is easy to see why. Although it is an enormous book--over 700 pages and still only the first volume of this biography--it is an engrossing and amazingly quick read. Rockefeller moved in so many great circles that the book feels more like one about 20th century America than just one man. The author's fascination with Rockefeller is infectious. The fact that Cary Reich died a sudden and untimely death last year, before he could complete volume two, means that readers will be deprived, even if the writer who completes volume two does an equally superb job.

Aldrich smashes the barriers of cultural insensitivity.
The challenge of communicating the gospel across cultural barriers is difficult and intense. Will we retain our traditional methods along with mediocre results or will we let our minds expand with brand new "ancient" concepts? Aldrich does a fantastic job of outlining the differences between biblical truth and cultural tradition. His concepts of "eating meat and evangelizing", "practicing the presence in evangelism", and others challenge us to change our methods to minister to our culture without throwing out the main tenants of the message. This book is highly recommended to all who would reach their generation in the most effective fashion

Have a copy in your library.
I think that it is a really good monograph about the logit and the probit models. It is very accessible at the appropriate level. I made a great deal use of it. Although it has a introductory review section about the linear regression model, having a good understanding of it, and also of statistics, is necessary in order to understand the rest of the book well.

A must for the definitive cloak and dagger collection...
Not only is this a masterfully written book, but Wise (I suspect) reveals tidbits that many within the ranks of the CIA were surprised to read. Best read in one sitting.

Wonderful......every American should read it.
Mr. Aldrich is an incredible thinker and writer. He objectively describes the various class structures in America and the values that accompany them. The book evinces that there is an inherent responsibility that goes along with financial success in this democratic society and what can result if there is an abrogation of that resonsibility. The book is written from a generous standpoint in that Mr. Aldrich genuinely shares himself with the reader. It is indeed "a gift" the "pietas" that Mr. Aldrich so eloquently describes.

Wonderful collection of encouraging reflections on life
I first became familiar with the writings of Sandra Picklesimer Aldrich when I read her book "Bless Your Socks Off". What an upbeat and encouraging book that was! This dear lady lost her husband to brain cancer when her son and daughter were still quite young. I was amazed at how someone who has suffered such a loss can embrace life like she does and how she can really inspire others to look at life in a fresh new way.

This book is a collection of 101 short chapters, grouped by theme. Each chapter starts with a brief Scripture passage and ends with a few questions to ponder. Theses chapters are like potato chips - I dare you to read just one! Even though it would be fun to just keep reading a whole bunch of these stories at one time, I encourage you to take the time and savor each chapter. For there are profound things to think about in each one.

Sandra P. Aldrich (read the book to find out why she always includes her maiden name in her byline) is the type of woman that all younger women should have as a mentor. Two few young moms these days have a godly older women to turn to for encouragement and getting that all-important perspective of being able to look back and say what REALLY matters as we're raising small children.

Sandra's book will make you laugh, and cry and will hopefully help you to look at life with a fresh enthusiasm and grateful spirit. The author points us to Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith.

This book would make a WONDERFUL gift for women of all ages, but especially for young moms in the midst of raising their children.
