Great horror thriller.
Taylor Holdman has some unwanted visitors: His wife and daughter who were murdered by a psychopath three years ago, are appearing before him at work and on the street, still bleeding from their wounds and trying to communicate with him. Only Taylor can see them and his sanity is beginning to unravel. "He's killing again, Daddy" his daughter tells him. Marilyn Briggs, a shy medium, is also experiencing these manifestations. Together, the two of them reach out to the otherside and find a legion of victims seeking revenge on the serial killer who took their lives. But the killer knows he's being watched and something dark and evil is protecting him and the body count is rising... This is an outstanding horror thriller from an underappreciated author. Stephen R. George is a fantastic storyteller and knows what horror fans want. Highly recommended, along with three others of his novels: NIGHTSCAPE, BLOODY VALENTINE, and DARK REUNION.

A wealth of practical and workable strategies!
I having read this book, I found it to contain a wealth of practical financial strategies. This book contains information of great use for everyone, both those in and out of the financial planning field. It was of great use to me in developing a financial plan specifically tailored to my situation. I am just thirty and this book provided me a paved road map of how to achieve financial security with limited risk. What more could one look for in a book?
I highly recommend this book and its upcoming revisions.

well written introduction - and nice to look at as well
George and Bache provide a very readable and informative overview of all the main questions connected with the EU. The layout is particularly well done and enhances the effectiveness of the text.
The authors start with a discussion of the main actors in the EU (Commission, Council, Parliament, Commitee of the Regions and Economic and Social Commitee) but also include such timely topics as the question of legitimacy or the concept of multilevel governance and other theoretical approaches to European integration. A separate chapter focuses on organised interests.
In part 2 the authors provide a well-structured overview of relevant policy areas. All in all, this book can be recommended as a well written introduction to European (EU) studies.

Best Presidential Text Around
This is an excellent text for anyone interested in political leadership. Both the beginner and anyone who wants a top notch reference text. I have owned dozens of books on the American presidency, I only buy one from the list to give as a gift to others: Edwards & Wayne's "Presidential Leadership." Buy it you will enjoy it. I am buying a new copy to replace my old copy, which is falling apart!

A MIRACULOUS NEW WORK FROM STEPHEN ROOS
I don't know when I have enjoyed a novel more than my recent reading of Stephen Roos' brilliant new book RECYCLING GEORGE. Like Mr. Roos' previous book, THE GYPSIES NEVER CAME, he writes with a terse style and abundant wit that make the sensitive issue of a child's abandonment all the more keenly felt and understood. The character of George is so believably complex: plucky and unlucky, passive and angrily defiant, brave and scared all at the same time. George trying his hardest to make the best out of the terrifying moment when he returns to his trailer park home to discover that his family has abandoned him and taken the trailer with them. How young George comes to terms with this abandonment reminds one of the resilience and humor of the young hero of J.D. Salinger's Catcher In The Rye. Like Salinger, Roos understands a boy's heart and knows how to reveal this heart to us through humor and searing honesty. Roos' writing style only continues to grow in power and simplicity with each new undertaking he attempts-making him one of the truly great authors writing about and for adolescents today."

How should TQM be implemented, read the examples!
he Baldrigde Quality System quantifies the quality of a company with a score from zero to a thousand points. Even the best companies are far behind the thousand point limit, but the writers found 53 examples that, at least for one aspect, owe almost the maximum of the available points. Ben&Jerry's, Ford, 3M and AT&T are just a few of the companies that have provided information for the book. Still the book is not a list of 'perfect case examples' but the writers managed to let the theory and practice explain solutions to daily problems and improved management techniques. Although none of the issues dealt with is explained in the smallest detail or with an extensive number of examples, but this books provides a broad view for new managers or managers new to TQM.

The Best book in my library
Are you an Architect and don't know the parts of a traditional double hung window? Forgot how stone was detailed? Could not draw a lug window sill to save your life? Then this book is for you and your staff. Great drawings (real drawings, not CADD), all hand lettered and illustrated. I use this book to size masonry fireplaces. It is the ultimate resource on all types of wood burning fireplaces and masonry dimensioning! Although there are some things that are out of date (plumbing & electrical)this book tells a story about buildings in the emerging market of historic rehab and historic tax credit project.

Glorious and Tragic Struggles for Equality
Most books and reports on Civil War events come from white writers and voice white viewpoints. This one speaks with a black voice, as George E. Stephens wrote as correspondent for the (New York) "Weekly Anglo-African," from the events of John Brown's rebellion (Nov. 1859) through September, 1864. Along the way he shifted from member of the press to acting patriot-soldier, recruiting and then enlisting in the Massachusetts 54th, that leader among black regiments depicted in the movie "Glory." Donald Yacovone provides not only notes for the letters but also information on Stephens' family background. After the 54th disbanded Yacovone follows Stephens' ongoing struggles to educate freed slaves in Virginia; the story of many black patriots' efforts to move their people upward by finally granting them some education is not widely told or appreciated. These chapters fill a need today. So the life taken as a whole is both glorious and tragic: it's distressing to follow Stephens' hopes, from fresh optimism through disillusionment to despair, time and time again from the events of Fort Wagner to the last anguished efforts of his life. At its end he had to sue the government he'd served all his life to obtain the commission denied to him because of his race (though illegally), and provide for his wife with a higher pension. He never lived to receive it, dying in 1888 before the promotion came through. In this Stephens is typical of black men of his time, and it's deeply saddening. This is not a happy, but it is a useful, book, and a corrective for many cheap heroics about how well we treated our black veterans. We need to ponder its message today.
