Great web page and every book available known to man. Smile
Read E. Lynn Harris' "If This World Were Mine". I must say that the book was captivating and most interesting. Surely, Mr. Harris has a nack for writing extraordinary novels. This is the first I have read of his work. However, it shall not be the last. Keep up the great work, Mr. Harris. And to Amazon, continue to bring the magic of a good book beyond the outer rims of the planet. Good Luck and May God Bless in all your endeavors.

Enchiridion Symbolorum
Published in Paperback by Crossroad/Herder & Herder (1998)
Authors: Ed Schomelzer and Heinrich Denzinger
Amazon base price: $32.95
Average review score:

Excellent Resource
I am not sure which edition I have; I think it is the 13th or so because it only goes up a little later than Vatican I; but that is beside the point. This is an excellent resource for any apologist. There is no explanation or analysis, rather it is simply declarations of the Church and Documents of the Ecumenical Councils. Not for light reading, but as a resource for research, it is invaluable.

Wonderful book for MEG students and scholars
Dr. Darrell Pepper is a wonderful professor. I was in his MEG 700 class at UNLV and He is the best professor I have had so far during my graduate school career. This book is also wonderful in expalining difficult concepts clearly and charting difficult flow diagrams.

Forbidden Faith
Published in Hardcover by Thousand Oaks Publishing (2000)
Authors: Lois M. Bass and Heinrich Landolt
Amazon base price: $22.95
Average review score:

This book will make a deep impact on your life!
I'm a fairly reserved person and yet I can be nothing but wholeheartedly enthusiastic about this book. My wife read it and was so impressed with it that I felt compelled to read it as well.

This book gracefully weaves the story of a very dynamic and inspirational woman within the stories of Christians, especially in Eastern Europe who have been persecuted for their faith.

By looking at the title, I half expected to read a rather overbearing tale of torture and tragedy, but I was treated to the unexpected triumphs shared within this book. I should have known better than to doubt my wife's taste, as she is a voracious reader, the eternal optimist and she absolutely loved the book.

If you're looking for a book to make a difference in your life, this is the one! As a Christian, husband, father and American, I can heartily endorse "Forbidden Faith" because it's helped me see things through a whole new light.

Haeckel's Monism and the Birth of Fascist Ideology (Studies in Modern European History, Vol. 33)
Published in Hardcover by Peter Lang Publishing (1998)
Author: Daniel Gasman
Amazon base price: $69.95
Average review score:

Excellent addition to a reading list for a course on fascism
Gasman expands our understanding of fascism by demonstrating the importance of scientific ideas for the genesis of Fascism. His analysis of the influence of the German scientist Ernst Haeckel underscores the need to consider the "scientific" origins of fascism and, specifically, the debt many Fascists owed to Haeckel. The bibliographic discussion in the introduction is extremely helpful, and the chapters are well structured for a course on comparative Fascism or the origins of Fascism.

Handbook of Mechanical Engineering
Published in Hardcover by Springer Verlag (1994)
Authors: Heinrich Dubbel, Wolfgang Beitz, and K. H. Kuttner
Amazon base price: $105.00
Average review score:

Germany's equivalent to the Mark's Handbook
Dubbel's classic handbook is a must for German engineer's. It is a handbook which is meant to be used everyday by design engineers. Loaded with useful tables and graphs, this book could serve as the only book on your desk. It treats structural mechanics and thermo-fluid design with equal weight. There are also a very good sections on manufacturing processes, material selection, and system design. Dubbel's Handbook for Mechanical Engineering stands out above all of the rest in the treatment of forming and bending. The Germans pioneered these processes and when you try to find literature on the subject, you will find yourself chasing down an old German journal article. Now there is a place to find the every day equations for bending and forming. This book can best be described as a Machinery's Handbook with thermo-fluids and all the theoretical equations. The only flaw in this gem of a book is that size of the print may be a bit small for engineers over forty. Bottom Line: Must Buy. C.Bryant, P.E.

Heinrich Hertz: A Short Life

Author: Charles Susskind
Amazon base price: $25.00

My chem class
I am a student in Berkeley CA. One day my teacher asked us if we knew anything about Heinrich Hertz. No one knew anything. I felt bad so I decided to do some research on his life. I found out many interesting facts- when I opened this book up. It wasn't until I read this book that I fully understood the life and liberty of this great man. I loved it. The whole world knows his name but doesn't know how his life really effected us.

Heinrich Himmler: A Nazi in the Making, Nineteen Hundred Thru Nineteen Hundred and Twenty-Six
Published in Hardcover by Hoover Inst Pr (1978)
Author: Bradley F. Smith
Amazon base price: $10.95
Average review score:

Himmler's Early Life
This book is a fascinating exspose of Heinrich Himmlers
youth. Padfeilds biography
shows Himmler to be Nationalist orientated from an early age and, at times, pedantic but in this book Smith gives a much sharper picture of Himmler as a young man. From his busy-body tendancies to his sexual insecurity, this book really brings the future Reichsfuehrer-SS to life. To those that are looking for demonisation of himmler, look elsewhere. The main point that comes across from this book is how "normal" he really was. A must for all those interested in the history of the Third Reich.

Heinrich Zimmer
Published in Hardcover by Princeton Univ Pr (02 May, 1994)
Author: Margaret H. Case
Amazon base price: $45.00
Average review score:

Amor fati
The life and work of Henry (Heinrich Robert) Zimmer (1890-1943) is presented with care and clarity in this little volume. Zimmer's role as the Humanist of the twentieth century is here recognized as one of tremendous importance in the spiritual development of global civilization. This book demonstrates how broad-ranging was his capacity to both understand and reach out to others, mostly through his own example of 'amor fati' --love of his own fate. It is an invaluable introduction to a most influential, but 'unsung', scholar of our times.

Herophilus: The Art of Medicine in Early Alexandria : Edition, Translation and Essays
Published in Hardcover by Cambridge University Press (1989)
Authors: Herophilus and Heinrich von Staden
Amazon base price: $160.00
Average review score:

a detailed and valuable work
In the history of medicine, popularity is mainly focused on the famous scientists such as Hipoccrates and Galen. However on the basis of positive science, maybe the most important scientist is Herophilus. The knowledge on Herophilus is rare and scattered in different testimonies and writings of authors such as Galen and Celsus. This valuable work of von Staden collects all these scattered information in one book. I think this book should be the main starting point to study ancient Alexandrian medicine, Herophilus and Herophilians. This book will not only illuminate today's knowledge but will also guide the future knowledge
