None of the other Robinson books are as good as this
This is the only Robinson biography I've read that tells me about the ballplayer and athlete - the others either try to turn him into a saint or a political figure. This book, while not ignoring his role or his image, places that in perspective and sticks with the story of what he actually did, rather than indulging in hagiography. And the revelations about what he actually did are startling.

A charming story for a slow afternoon
I began reading this book in the morning. I finished by theafternoon. Although it's not a page turner, it begs you to readon. The plot of a talking doll is so fantastic, the reader wishes Lady Daisy was there speaking to her. I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to get away from the reality of books. Escape into a world of clean fun and be charmed by Lady Daisy and her friend.

I really like this book!
The tale of a heroic cat who dared brave the monter of Hobb's Hole!

On the still air from the distant fields came a horrible mixture of a roar and a scream with a snarl mixed in, and even at that distance it was so loud that everyone knew one thing for certain. It was the noise of no ordinary creature!

Only Tom Plug, the butcher's fearless cat and a true hunter, dared brave the monster of Hobb's Hole in his lair - but some said it was a foolhardy mission that could cost him his life!

Fantastic book
I should admit at the start that my mother wrote this book, and that I am biased toward her work. This is the seventh book in the Adam Joshua series, and one of my favorites. This book, and the series, details the life of my sister and I, plus a variety of other characters. Despite the book being named "Nelson in Love," (Nelson is actually Scott, my best friend for the past 13 years) the book is actually about my first true love. At the time Mom was writing the book, I thought it was romantic that my love was being immortalized in print. After all the years of suffering through her publicizing my periods of thinking I was Superman and running around in a cape, and my fear of monsters, and even my fights with my sister, I was finally reaping the rewards. That lasted right up until the moment we broke up. By then the book was already at press, and it was too late to change the girl's name. Some day my children (her grandchildren) will ask who Heidi was. My mother's personal dedica

We have this book on tape. The narration is wonderful because of the British accents. We like Bob and Fatso. Dick King Smith is our favorite author.

Better than Nytol!
This book has proven to be a Godsend for our 4 and 2 year old boys - it converts them from rambunctious destroyers to nuzzling geeks just in time for bed. The stories are replete with quirky characters, the occasional moral and cute (but not too cute) depictions. I'll confess that some of these rich tales do extend into the 7 or 8 minute range but you'll hardly notice.

good book for kids who like dogs
This book, through well-written, easy to understand, and humorous text, is good for reading to or being read by children. It is also a good book for kids who like dogs or are interested in getting one, because it explains both the ups and downs of puppyhood. The adorable illustrations were also very nice. This book would probably be best for kids from th e ages of 2 years old to 9 years old because it can be read to the younger children while they enjoy the rich illustrations while older children can practice reading with this book because of the large, easy to read text.

A story my mom and I both enjoyed
My mother and I read the Dick King Smith books together and "The Queen's Nose" was excellent! It is just one of the great books Dick King Smith has written. This story teaches you that there are some ways that wishes can come true but not all of them are as easy as 1 2 3. I loved this book! Go Dick King Smith Go!

Sophie's Review
My Niece loved it. She wants to go onto reading all of the "Sopie's" series. She chose Sopie over the more recognized books like Pokeman and Mary Kate and Ashley series which she had been reading. Sophie seems to be a real person to her, a friend.
