Great book
Bryson has done it again! I lived in Australia for quite a few years and reading this book brought back a rush of memories. His wit is insightful, and internationally "spot on." He doesn't really have a go at the Australians, as much as say, guitely pointing out unique quirks the Auzzies have developed for themselves down under.

I read this book on a plane ride back from Australia a few years ago, and caught myself laughing out load more than once.

Great book, Bill.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde After One Hundred Years

Authors: William Veeder and Gordon Hirsch

The greatest fiction book out there today!
The characters in this book were great, they were decribed in full detail. The tranformation of one man, was a great idea, on the part of Robert Louis Stevenson. I would recommend this book to any, on any given day. The depth of the description was outstanding, Hopefully you will be lucky, like I was, and will get the chance to read this.

The Dramatic Works in the Beaumont and Fletcher Canon: Volume 10

An interesting collection
Having taught B&F in my early 17th cent. drama class, I can recommend Wit without Money and, to some extent, The Wild-Goose Chase. I would not bother with Wife for a Month, one of the weakest and poorly written of their collaborations. Nevertheless, this is a handy book.

A must have!
I recommend that any fan of William Blake buy this volume and the other 5 in the series. The books are beautiful, large, and handsomely bound. Each book is reproduced in full color, using a six-color printing process rather than the standard four. The pages are heavy, opaque and have a gorgous lustre indicating very high quality paper. The text of each book accompanies the color reproductions in standard typeface with very competent commentary to boot.

Transportation Economics and Policy
An excellent choice for anyone who is interested in transportation. The essays range from issues related to developing countries to those that are pertinent to the US. While this is not exactly a beginner's book it is very easy to read with some background in economics or engineering.

Evidence based pediatrics and child health
This is a very impressive and timely book on Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) by 74 contributors in the field of pediatrics and child health from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Holland and Italy.
The term EBM was developed by Sackett and colleagues from the McMaster University (Sackett DL et al. Evidence based medicine. BMJ 1996;312:71-2) as "the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients" or in other words, good medical practice based on as much facts as possible for the benefit of your patient. Since 1991 this field has been incooporated into many medical schools around the work, textbooks published and now we see it reaching pediatrics and child health.
This superbly edited book (updates will be regularly posted on www.evidbasedpediatrics.com) is devided into three sections: "Finding, evaluating and applying the evidence"; "Evidence for routine practices: screening/prevention" and finally "Common pediatrics conditions" with a good and comprehensive index.
The steps in the practice of Evidence Based Pediatrics (EBP) are: to evaluate the clinical situation (by history, by examination and laboratory tests), identify information needs and structure clinical questions, search for relevant information from the literature, evaluate the evidence found or identify lack of evidence and finally apply the evidence to your patients.
You will find many useful and structured entries in this book from the issue of the "well child" to the common pediatric problems of otitis media, constipation, short stature or croup.
We believe that this important book should find its way to the desks of the practicing pediatrician, the lecturer in child health and the researcher in pediatrics.

Rob is a genius - metaphorically speaking
If you like crazy metaphors worked into the pages of a book like spillt lunch, you've got to give Rob Smith's stuff a gander. He writes well, he conceives interesting plots, and he throws it all together like a thousand monkeys banging on a thousand typewriters. I love all of his books, and seeing as I've met the author, I can vouch for his character and his good taste in cologne.

Essential reference for freshwater biologists
As a zoology student working in a country where very little has been published in limnology, I found this work to be both essential and fascinating. Even on a student budget I couldn't resist it. The broad coverage of groups, the keys, and the illustrations make this work a tool during working hours and a book to dip into for sheer interest after hours. I wish I had known about Pennak when the older edition covering the insects as well was available. If you like puddles and what lives in them - this is the book for you.
