Very enjoyable and worth every penny.
If you like a good, old-fashioned mystery, this is the book for you. I expected that I would have read most of these, but I was surprised to find many unfamiliar stories, along with a few familiar (but very good) ones. I was sorry to come to the end.

Great book for interaction
I am a Kindermusik teacher and just used this book for the first time in my 18 month-3 year old class and they LOVED it! The text is great for repetition of animal sounds/walking sounds, the illustrations are uncluttered and colorful. It is just the right length and the recap at the end gives the kids a chance to repeat everything that we've done before. It will be great fun adding movements to the book in the upcoming weeks. Great book for scaffolding ideas.

A Free Sample
This collection of short stories, with a few notable exceptions, has very little substance. This does not mean it is a bad book. Rather, think of it as a showcase, an author demonstrating the moods, voices, and genres he is capable of. It is designed to be very easy to read... with no insoluble concepts and no especially challenging ideas, it can be digested with ease by the average citizen and truly let them know if they would enjoy Resnick's novels.
I would normally give a book of this type a six or seven, but two stories in this book do not conform to the "Free Sample" style. These stories (Kirinyaga and For I Have Touched The Sky) are deeper and more meaningful than the stories that surround them. If the reader is truly buying this book for a free sample, he should ignore these stories, for they contain questions about cultural integrity and the effetcts of colonialism that quite belie the rest of the book.

Variety of stories keeps the book interesting.
This is the book that introduced me to Resnick, and it's a great introduction. Resnick demonstrates a variety of styles and tones in this anthology, from the hysterical "Revenge of the Sugar Plum Fairies" to the deeply serious "Kirinyaga" stories. You can be sure there's a story here for you no matter what type of story you're in the mood for.

Present at the creation.
This is a fantastic collection of poems, short stories, and essays by some truly gifted young people. While the talent exhibited in this book is raw, it is by no means any less potent--indeed, in reading this book, one feels that one is at the creation, witnessing the debut work of some singularly gifted voices.
I highly, highly recommend this book.

This text was required for one of my history classes. It is short, succinct, and loaded with valuable maps and photographs. I would highly recommend this text for anyone looking for a comprehensive overview of World War II. This is novel by English writer Michael Coatesworth. A prolific short fictional and pastoral essayist in his own right, Mr. Coatesworth, or 'Mike,' as he prefers to be called by readers and critics alike, has made a logical and hard-bought evolution as a writer.
His short story romance / Adventure is in the finest tradition of the genre. This is one of those rare works that deserves the title 'Inspirational.' An outstanding novel and we look forward to more from Michael Coatesworth.
