Or a Boba Fett cake pan...there's no better way to honor the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy than a frosted cake with his likeness. From tacky to the timeless, it's all contained within the pages of the Tomart guide, with hundreds of photographs of many of the items listed in the book. Proven Testimonial
How to Make Hot Cold Calls changed my life. As a sales manager with a very large financial institution, I was enlightened by the concepts found within Steven Schwartz's book. Never before had I been given the "how to" of this critical component of the sales process. I was so inspired, that I coordinated a seven-week pilot with 10 front-line sales staff within my organization. Here are some of the startling results from our informal process: a 73% average increase in our ability to get through to prospects over the telephone, and an 87% average increase in our ability to get the appointment or sale.
Believe me, this is a very reliable indicator of how intuitive Hot to Make Hot Cold Calls can be to a typical sales person today. Some of the behavioural changes from the team were immediate and permanent. Even more exciting was how my salespeople could overlay Steven's techniques during their face-to-face sales appointments. I strongly recommend the use of this book, the website, and the audio program.

A Must-Read Book
With "How To Make Hot Calls", Steven J. Schwartz has done the near-impossible. He has taken the third most stress-provoking life event (behind public speaking and diapering an infant) and transformed it into one of the most powerful assets I have in my business life.

When I was referred to Schwartz's book, I was concerned that I'd be cluttering my bookshelf with another facile, indulgent self-help guide from a slick motivational speaker with limited business experience and a juvenile sense of humor.

This book is different. Unlike other books of this type, Schwartz uses an engaging combination of anecdotes, real-life business examples and highly effective exercises to convey his concepts. He speaks to the reader in plain language and provides many opportunities to reinforce the skills being taught.

Schwartz's ideas are simple, infectious and have resulted in my being much more effective and at ease in reaching my clients and managing my relationships with them. This book would be invaluable to anyone who is in consultative sales, marketing or professional services.

I heartily recommend this book to anyone who, like me, was intimidated by the prospect of calling new business contacts. Without meaning to sound hyperbolic, this could be the best investment you'll ever make in a skill you'll use for the rest of your working life.

Undergraduate Abnormal Psychology
This was my textbook for an upper level undergraduate psychology class. It is intended for use in a survey course in abnormal psychology. It begins with a case history which is referred to as the book progresses. An overview of the four main psychological paradigms comes next. The subsequent chapters examine topics in abnormal psychology under these paradigms. There is also a chapter on psychological assessment, testing, and classification. The subjects that the book covers range across anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, sexual dysfunctions, etc. The DSM-IV classification criteria are given for the discussed disorders. For the most part, each chapter uses case studies to exemplify its points. I found this to help ground what I was reading in real life scenarios. Aside from this, there are several side notes and highlights in the text which round out the picture. It is not difficult to read through, and I did not feel that anything was left out. An undergraduate introductory psychology class is a help and should be a prerequisite for reading the book, but one can manage without it. There are also several color photos and charts interspersed throughout the book. This keeps the reader from becoming too bogged down in black and white text. Also, each chapter is divided and subdivided neatly into headings which make for an easier read if one must take a break and provide for easier reference. While the book will not allow the reader the ability to immediately practice psychology, I found it to serve quite well as an undergraduate textbook.

An excellent introductory text for psychology students.
Abnormal Psychology: A Discovery Approach is a complete, comprehensive, integrated introduction that includes case studies and primary documents illustrating suicidal ideation, anxiety disorder, anorexia/eating disorders, stress, violence, substance abuse, dissociative disorders, mood disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, intellectual and cognitive disorders, childhood and adolescent disorders, and sexual disorders. Abnormal Psychology covers the history of this aspect medical history, ethics, and legal issues, the integration of gender, culture and ethnicity, the DSM-IV, research methods, treatments, and more. Abnormal Psychology is a highly recommended introductory text for students of psychology.

Your dreams are just a phone call away!
Steven Schwartz provides us with a systematic, winning approach to making those most difficult of phone calls, the dreaded "cold call". Based on our continuous use of his approach, I can say without hestitation, IT REALLY WORKS!

Schwartz's approach is smart and easy to follow. He breaks down the challenge by teaching us how to face and overcome our fears, efficiently organize our call lists, and script our calls for delivery with passion and conviction. He even shows us how to analyse our results for continuous improvement.

There are lots of clever tips and useful examples. The book can be read in an evening and put into good use the next day. A "must" read for everyone who wants to move their "cold" calls into a warm, welcoming world of unlimited opportunities.

Excellent Book for the Wards
This is an excellent book for pediatric residents and medical students in pediatric rotations. The book is organized by symptom e.g. abdominal pain, chronic cough, and it provides a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis, flow charts for diagnosis, as well as short discussions on most common diseases associated with that particular symptom. A must for pediatric rounds.

How Much Is A Million?
Our class liked this book. We thought it was hilarious and gave a wonderful picture of how much a million really is. The kid tower was very imaginative and was an excellent example of a million, billion, and trillion. David M. Schwartz has a fantastic imagination. This book is great for little kids, because it shows there are numbers greater than a hundred. It's language is easy for kids to understand, and it contains many amazing facts.
However, older students dislike it, because it was too fictional. We felt it didn't explain these concepts well enough for us. Overall, we wouldn't recommend it for grades higher than fourth grade.

One in a Million
This picture book is a great pairing of engaging children's literature, detailed illustrations and a deep math concept. I love the way that Schwartz and Kellogg bring this book to life!
I love Kellogg's illustrating! I would just love to jump right into the pages and be a part of all the action. His characters are drawn with such unique faces. And each page is filled with numerous details and endless nooks and cranies. Each page begs to be explored over and over.
If you have never enjoyed a book illustrated by Steven Kellogg now is the time!
The writing in this particular book is also very well done. The little facts about the number 1 million are really interesting. For instance it would take a fish bowl the size of a city harbor to hold a million goldfish!
This book really helps kids and adults understand a very abstract concept. How many of us really have a good grasp on how much a million really is? This book definitely puts it in perspective!
Read it once and you'll have to read it again and again!

How Much is a Million By David M. Schwartz
I really enjoyed this book and I like the way David M. Schwartz used kids as an example of measurement. I thought the story was cute and I think young kids will really enjoy this. This is a story that I read a lot when I was in elementary. The story shows a very creative out look on counting and makes a million look like a humongous number. I think kids can really learn from that and even makes it kind of fun to learn. Sometimes I even like to read this book over because it really is a fun book to read. The illustrations are also very good and I think they definitely add to the creativity of this book. I really enjoyed looking at them.
