If You Made A Million
I strongly think you should read this book because it is funny. It has a wizard that does magic and he helps kids learn how to save their money. You should extremely like this book because the kids make things and they get money. They also babysit a giant baby for one thousand dollars. A boy makes a bridge and they do their chores. They also do incredible things.

It teaches children about money.
The illlustrations are fun. The text talks about situations to which kids can relate. The book gives some good lessons about money and how to use it. Yet, the book never bogs down. Children find it interesting and fun.

My review after 1 year use
I am doing master's in electrical eng., this book was good for me. But I think this is not a good starting point to understand the theory of the communication systems. I advice this book to at least master's degree people, since it gives all theory about a topic (e.g. Phase-Shift Keying) in one section including introduction, theory, implimentation and application. So, you are really expected to know some basics in communication theory already. It covers both analog and digital communication theory, but it's really good especially in digital. It uses generally analogy between analog and digital. Thus, it can't be used as a reference book easily. To understand this book, you must put a lot of effort and time to it. If you really wanna know these stuff (given in table of contents), it's worth to buy.

Thanks for reading.

Comm Systems and Networks made easy
A well written book that has superb examples and questions. Makes alot of sense out of a difficult topic

Excellent overview
An excellent overview of, as the title says, "classic studies in psychology". Covers experiments in many different areas (conditioning, development, memory, social psychology) and hits the "high notes" in each area: Pavlov's classical conditioning, Watson's "Little Albert" experiment, Piaget's cognitive development, Milgram's obedience experiment, and others. A great resource for instructors and students of experimental psychology.

This book is the manual that Microsoft forgot
The Manual that Microsoft Forgot Review of *Visual QuickStart to Internet Explorer 3 for Windows95/NT* by Eric Selje Once upon a time, much of the pleasure received from purchasing new software was diving into the manual, looking for little nuggets of information to make that program work. There was something about the 3-ring binder, the smell and touch of the paper, the poorly worded phrases of an overwrought programmer who suddenly finds themself a technical writer. In the last few years, the computer manual has gone the way of the manual transmission. With most software nowadays, it's a readme file and a help file, if you're lucky. Such is the case with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The program is ubiquitous, and yet everyone is just supposed to know how it works, and all of its nuances. How are we to obtain this information? Osmosis? Well, Visual Quickstart Guide to Internet Explorer 3 for Windows95/NT is a very good place to start. Like all books in this series, this one too gets to the heart of the matter quickly, with screen shots to show you every step of the way. With a program like Internet Explorer, this approach works exceedingly well. Internet Explorer is an extremely visually-oriented applicaiton, without a whole lot of technical understanding necessary in order to use it. This book becomes the manual that Microsoft never wrote. Because Internet Explorer is none too involved, this book can cover almost every aspect of the program in its compact size. In regard to the browser, the author starts from what a browser and the World Wide Web are, how to navigate that space, how to organize your space, how to search the web, how to browse securely, and much more. This book not only covers Internet Explorer, but also its two cohorts: Internet Mail and Internet Newsgroups. Addressing e-mail using the Windows Address Book, attaching files and signatures, receiving mail, and more are, um, addressed. In the newsgroup section, the author explains what newsgroups are, how you can read and post to them, how to encode and decode messages, and how to work off-line, among other topics. Throughout the book, there are helpful tips to make your experience with Internet Explorer better. I found most of these tips to be genuinely useful, and not just rehash of obvious ideas or statistics. The tone of the book is very down to business, although there are subtle touches of humor if your looking hard enough. It's not irreverent like the Dummies or Idiots series. Reading this book harkened back to the time when you could discover the mysteries of the software by reading the manual. I would recommend this book to everyone who uses a computer, because when Microsoft gets its way, we'll all be users of Internet Explorer. Visual QuickStart Guide for Internet Explorer for Windows95/NT was written by Steven Schwartz and is published by Peachpit Press. It retails for a mere $16.95

Grauate Tool
The book READY FOR THE REAL WORLD is an excellent preparation tool for college seniors. The book offers information in career planning, personal life, community responsibilities, financial planning, and alum activities.

Written in an easy-to-read style, READY FOR THE REAL WORLD covers most of the elements that college seniors must consider from the more practical aspect of the budgeting of finances to the often neglected consideration of psychological changes that take place as one goes from the rather protected status of a student to that as a job applicant and employee.

This book is an excellent one for college classes which are offered at the end of the senior year to help prepare students for life after college, but would also be helpful to individuals who are seriously thinking about the transition from college to the "real world."

The book includes checklists and activities that allow readers to assess their status financially, psychologically, and personally. I highly recommend this book.

Beginners only!
This book was advertised as having a reader level from beginner to advanced; although it was thoughtful and well laid out, it is for beginners only. The author manages no more with 900+ pages then what FileMaker does in roughly 200 pages with their boxed manual.
If your thinking about making this purchase, reread the manuals that came with FileMaker and spend your money on something useful. I was hoping for a lot more.

Plugins?
It says there's a whole chapter on plugins but I only find one plugin covered in depth and that one BRIEFLY. Hmph. I'll look elsewhere.

Excellent Resource
The Filemaker Pro Bible 6th edition is an excellent book--it was helpful, explanatory, and allowed me to get my work done in an effective and timely way. I recommend this book to all novice and seasoned professionals alike.

A rambling, superficial accounting of desperate events.
Choosing a fictional novel is an infrequent happening for me. This book reinforced the reasons. It was written for consumption of time for the author. This book was nothing more than a collection of desperate events in a young man's life with little substance or connection.

A good read though not as rewarding as "Therapy"...
This book was sent to me by a friend of Steven's who also turned me onto "Therapy" which I adored and have been sharing freely...While I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was sorry to have it end the story was not as easy to relate to as "Therapy", but that is part of the reading experience, to take yourself out of what you know and can easily relate to, that's how we grow. I do love Steven's writing style and hope that he is working on another book already because we're waiting!

A good book - plain and simple.
Steven Schwartz was the first writing professor I had while attending Colorado State University. In many ways, he showed me the joys of writing and gave me my first taste of success as a young college writer. This book is written by a very good writer. Schwartz devotes time to the character development and captures the essence of "show - don't tell."

bible of what?
How is this a filemaker pro bible? It never goes beyond filemaker pro, the basics. The basics are also in the Filemaker Pro manual, which comes with the software at NO additional cost. Actual intermediate and advanced techniques with scripts and calculations are never covered.

As someone who has spent way too much money on Filemaker Pro books at this point, the money on this book, and most of the others has been a big waste.

Apparently Scriptology, Filemaker Pro Demysitfied by Matt Petrowsky and John Osborne, is the ONLY Filemaker Pro book available that covers actual Filemaker Pro techniques, calculations, and scripts. The Filemaker Pro Bible just doesn't do that.

Filemaker can be very powerful, but from the bible, you would never know.

Read the manual, buy Scriptology, and check out the filemaker newsgroup. Leave the bible alone.

Very Helpful Resource--I recommend this book!
I like this book and thought that is was very helpful. Books are appropriate based on the user's background. .... This book is good for those whose technical intellectual apparatus does not include Filemaker Pro. Personally, I think it is a fine book and would recommend The Filemaker Pro Bible to those who are anywhere in the stages of beginner to intermediate.

FileMaker Pro 5 Bible is good for novice user like me.
I'm a new user of FileMaker Pro 5, FileMaker Pro 5 Bible is easy to understand and good for text reference. I think FileMaker Pro 5 Bible is the only book you can depend to use the software effectively. It covers all of the program's steps that anyone can understand. FileMaker Pro 5 Bible is good for novice user.

Dull
Will Danielle get to keep Redman? Will he go away? Come on! Give us all a break! I've read all six of these books and I've had enough of this pointlessness. At the slow pace this is going, we'll be on book 12 before Raven even sets a hoof on the track. If you want to buy this book, don't. It's just not worth it.

Not as good as the original "Black Stallion" series...
While he has made an appreciated attempt, Steven Farley's books just do not live up to the caliber of his father's work (Walter Farley). I have read 6 of the books in the "Young Black Stallion" series, and I find them more akin to the "Thoroughbred" and "PonyPal" books, sadly lacking the fire and excitement of the original Black Stallion books. Steven Farley has made some glaring errors in his protrayal of Alec Ramsey... How could Alec be only 18 if he found the Black at 15? So the Black has only been racing for 3 years through all 21 books in the original series? Come on! Make Alec 25 or so, and that would be believable....

Also, what makes these books less interesting to read is that they are "dumbed down" a bit, while the original stories were written for 10-12 years olds, they appealed to adults too! (Like myself, who grew up reading the Black Stallion books.)

I think "The Black Stallion's Shadow" and The Black Stallion's Steeplechaser" were much better than the books in this "Young Black Stallion" series. For your money, I think you are better off trying to get some of the original 21 books by Walter Farley...

i love it!
i think this is a great series because it moves somewhat slowly and it keeps you begging for moor!!!

Not good enough for me
As an optometry student, this book is ok if you just want to understand the concepts, but I feel it only touches it superficially.
To understand geometrical optics, I wanted lots of example problems shown with different scenarios. I didn't feel very prepared going into a testing environment with this book.
