Has problems
This series has been too overlooked. I just love these.Dorothy accidently uses the secret signal one Saturday morning and decides to spend some time in Oz. Meanwhile Dr. Nikidik's son steals Ozma's magic belt by spreading youth powder, and later Mombi gets involved. (there is one of the four different ways Mombi is overthrown after the "The Marvelous Land of Oz") The only thing wrong is that there are more lies about Mr. Wogglebug. This was the first time I heard that they think he talks too much. But I swear too you he never, ever wasts time getting to the point!

A wonder light read
This title is a step above the average mass market series. The storyline is well developed and characters are clearly drawn. This is #2 in the series. Rosie (a grey mutt) and Fritz (an easily frightened German Shephard) are now puppies with a home. They will be staying together for a few days while Fritz's family is caring for a relative. At the same time a "niece" arrives at Rosie's house for a few days. The niece has the usual smells "hard candy and bubble gum", but there is another smell. It seems to be stronger by her backpack. The puppies soon learn that it is the smell of trouble. Rosie needs to find out the source of the smell before the two puppies end up back at the pound. The story does have a formula happy ending. This is a good cross over to chapters book. The illustration are nicely done and add to the enjoyment of the reading. The book will be of interest for light summer reading, as well as discussion material for young readers.

one of a kind
This slim volume contains twelve essays on rape and related subjects. Don't be fooled by the inclusiveness of the title, however: scholarly works are rarely that broad, and most of these essays deal directly with Classical Athens, moving to Rome only in a few essays, and actually including Byzantium and the Middle Ages, as well. Some of the works are incredibly insightful and paradigm-building; others are horribly written but contain a few pearls, if one is willing to sift through the despair of an English teacher. My personal favourites were the essays by Deacy, Kilmer, Pierce, and Arieti, with a favourable mention for Saunders. Deacy looks into Athena and how she characterized the unmarried (rapeable) virgin; Kilmer focuses on red-figure pottery and its errotic scenery, quite shocking!; Pierce sends us through the New Comedies for a look at the grostesquely amusing; and Arieti not only falls into the nuances of Livy and his portrayal of rape, but introduces a worldview that definitely provokes thought.
This book is not for the faint-hearted. Some of the portrayals are shocking to the modern mind in how ancients react to them. There are some explicit pictures in Kilmer's article, and all of them deal with a very combustable topic: rape. Nonetheless, if you're interested in womens' studies, the nuances of Ancient Greek, or even law and the philosophy of law through time, this is a book you won't want to miss.

Great Fun for kids
When I was much younger I adored Sleepover Friends, the 2 I found..They were always a hard book to find.I recently found and read Patti's Luck, the 1st in the fun series. It was good like the other 2.Although there was a lot of superstition in this particular book,I recommend this series to girls of around 12.Each one is a short, and fun read.
Great Collectors Series for Young Adults
I got into this series as a young adult before "The Babysitters Club." Techincally this isn't as popular as the Ann M. Martin series. But it's really fun and outgoing young adults in the book. They get together and share hard times and friendships with each other as well as great Sleepovers. I wish I could have had as many as they did! But I also too as a young adult relate to each and everyone of them. It really is a good series as "The Babysitters Club." With more interesting stories to tell in a different way :)
Just like the Baby Sitters Club, actually better
I first read this in 6th grade. It was just like the Baby Sitters Club, actually I liked it better. However I recently reread it and so that was why I gave it a lower rating. I don't think it's really appropriate for young kids because of the witchcraft and use of ouija boards. These books are very inspiring and well written and the girls give kids lots of neat ideas for fun sleepovers, but there are some things such as communicating with the dead and ouija boards and witchcraft that should never be tampered with. It may be all in fun, but not if you let it run your life like Patti seemed to. However these books are really good. Although not very deep, I like them better than the Baby sitter books. About the truth or dare thing, well I did that after I read this book--knocked on some guy's bedroom window just like Lauren does! Neat book.
