This is a darn good book
"Ancient Revalations of the Bible" is a great book for Christians and Jews alike to get their trust back in the Holy Scriptures. This guy tells the Bible story and then finds things a tad unbelievable. Then he talks to aitheists and askes them why it is false, then goes to a Judeo-Christian scientist who makes the aitheist look like a total mush head. This book finds scientific facts to back up Bible stories that may seem flawed. This book is at the top of my list. Charles E. Sellier did a darn good job.

Enhances understanding of the life & death of Jesus Christ
This is the fifth volume in a series of six. After reading this book and carefully examining the scriptures in it, I have finally gained a clear, detailed and harmonious explanation of the relationship between God and His son, Jesus Christ, as well as the Holy Spirit, which is often unfortunately described as a "mystery" in the Christian world today.

I have also gained a better insight into the purpose of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. It is generally understood by Christians that Jesus died for the sin of the world. This book explains, however, the logisitics of why and how his death can provide salvation and remove the sin of the world - because Jesus' sinless life satisfied God's justice in providing a substitute or "ransom" for Adam (father of the human race), who sinned and caused his posterity to also be born in sin (1 Timothy 2:5,6).

One must read and study the scriptures in this book with an open mind as it challenges the creeds of Christianity that have been held for over 1,500 years.

Holy Spirit explained
This is the type of book that reveals more "new" thoughts I hadn't seen before, each time I read it. I have been assisted in understanding multiple aspects about the Holy Spirit by using this book along with the scriptures. There are so many scriptures cited that I can check the thoughts presented and how they correlate with the Bible. I was introduced in this book to the simple concept that atonement is also at-one-ment with God. This is the best book for an understanding of what the Holy Spirit is, how it operates, and how one knows if they have it.

An excellent and practical guide.
I have found this book very useful both in the field and in the museum. It represents an excellent feat of practical scholarship by Bonaccorso, with good keys, locality information (with maps), reference to specific museum specimens, and external measurements for all species from PNG, including the provinces in the Bismarcks and northern Solomons. It is not only a terrific synthesis of what is known of bat biology in the country, but also offers a large store of new information. Also extremely handy are the comprehensive gazetteer at the end with lat/long coordinates and the good bibliography. Fiona Reid's excellent color illustrations round out the guide.

The Battle of Armageddon

I love reading the end of this book!
This book gives tremendous detail historically and Biblically of events leading up to the battle of the title. My favorite part is in the last three chapters which tell the positive events that follow the conflicts. Specifically I am impressed by the beauty of God's plan of restitution promised by all of God's prophets. The harmony of the scriptures paint a beautiful picture of man's future. The best part about God's promises is that they are true!

Probably the most well researched book about Charles M. Russell. Even if one is not normally drawn to sculpture, this book could possibly be the one to change your mind. The subjects are varied, inspiring, and beautiful.

"No one comes close"!
As a young boy he heard the words of Horace Greely, and indeed went west to seek fame, fortune, and adventure. After two years with Jake Hoover in the Judith, his dreams of wranglin', and ropin' came true at the O H ranch. Over time the home of the "Big Sky Country" became his perminant domain, and his mother Miss Montana, she blessed her son with a gift that would speek for many of his kind that ventured before him. He illustrated with brush, and canvas. He wrote in scripture, and sculptured in bronze. With his gift, C M Russell was able to protray what it was like to live in a time when spurs, the six-gun, and the feel of leather was a cowhands only cherrished parcel. He became the "Cowboys Cowboy", and the voice of the "Red-Man". Montana's dearest son had done what she wanted him to do. Russell for those who knew him was Loving, Kind, and Loyal. He never forgot his roots, no matter where he traveled. In the end Montana was more than proud of him. For she had raised him as Montanan. Over the years he became a Montanan. And at the end of the trail, he was buried as a Montanan.

Excellent, well-researched, love of subject shines through.
Brian Dippie, as always, spends years of research perfecting his product. His love of writing preparing his books is not compromised by deadlines. Being a professor of U.S. History at the University of Victoria demands authenticity and knowledge! Who would believe a Canadian? The answer lies definitely here. This author is one to be believed and enjoyed.

Years of travel and study liberally doused with a love of the language mirror Charlie Russells love of nature and art but Charlie struggled with language. Dippie translates, transcribes, and transforms for the reader. A DEFINITE BUY!

Encyclopedia of Ancient Deities
Published in Hardcover by McFarland & Company (2000)
Authors: Charles Russell Coulter and Patricia Turner
Amazon base price: $75.00

The Work of A LifeTime
Charles Coulter had a passion for the Gods. For 10 years, he collected books, magazines, reference material and devoured all the information about the dieties of the ancient worlds.

Coulter painstakingly cataloged and cross-referenced every bit of information about the Gods. Many times, he would find stories and references about Gods under a variety of names - but he was able to identify them as the same diety. So, often, you'll be able to see if your favorite mythical god had counterparts in other cultures and other lands.

This really was the work of a lifetime. When he finished the book and selected the art for the cover, Chuck decided that he was too ill to go on. And he went to join the Gods.

The book was published two years after his death.

What a great place to start exploring the foundation of today's cultures, societies and frames of reference.

Oh yes, along the way, Chuck's sense of humor being irrepressible, he wrote a total spoof about the romping of the gods in modern-day Greece - if you want to laugh out loud while you're reading, pick up a copy of 'Ponce's Fountain" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1569015074/ (and NO, it is not totally out of print. His wife still has about 100 copies, plus about 30 that were autographed before Chuck died.)

Climate based on measured datda
Thornthwaite "Climatic Water Budget Analysis" is rational, systematic and quantitative, based on measured data. Unlike Köppen which attempts to use vegetation to predict large general climate areas, Thornthwaite uses temperature, precipitation, latitude, day length and soil water-holding capacity for an objective perspective of climate. Model enhancements include net primary productivity in grams per square meter per year, continentality (continental vs. oceanic influence), aspect, an Index of Moisture that accounts for precipitation (income), potential and actual evapotranspiration (spending), soil water-holding capacity (storage or withdrawal), indices of moisture in arid and humid climates. While Köppen lumps mountains into "Highlands", Thornthwaite reflects objective conditions - over a 30-year period. Climate constraints (maximums, minimums, ranges) are comparable world wide. Agriculture, urban residents, water, soil and ecosystem managers find Thornthwaite logical, rational and useful (vs. Köppen, a "memorized" system of map areas).

Historical perspectives of Thornthwaite's time and teaching in Oklahoma, working with Birdseye, doing regional geography in Kentucky, heading the Soil Conservation Service, and applying the tools of weather and climate worldwide make his life and biography long-term valuable. Understand Thornthwaite and you realize just how much "fluff" and spin current Natl Weather Service and media weather-climate reports are. This biography is defensible, robust, rational and reveals hard work and a fresh perspective.
