This book is a must-buy.
This book is a must-buy, or at least a must-have. If you like logic, you must have this book -- for it'll give you what you like. If you don't like logic, you must have this book -- for it'll snap you out of your (misplaced) dislike. You either like logic or you don't. You figure it out!
Truly, this book is a wonderful collection suited for anyone competent in classical first-order logic. Indeed, it serves as a rather nice second step into the world of logic beyond classical first-order. At the very least the book offers the best (informal) introductions to Goedel's celebrated theorem, which is worth a lot.
Anyone familiar with Boolos' work will know that this book is a treat. Anyone not familiar with Boolos' work must learn; and ~Logic, Logic, and Logic~ is a great place to start.

This is Priestley's fiction at its best
"Lost Empires" takes us back into the world of the music hall in England in the early part of this century. Mr. Priestley's gift is characterization and here he takes us on a merry dance around the traps with as fell a cast as ever graced the none-too-genteel provincial stage. It is a book with laughter for itself and for its comic characters and, as always with J. B. Priestley, it has its moments of social satire in which we can all, perhaps, feel we might be at home. Like the longer, sturdier tale, "Good Companions," "Lost Empires" will leave you on a high, having completed a very satisfactory tour of a world long vanished, but whose echoes are still recognizable today. Language and craft, satire and straight-out good fun all abound here. Happily, Mr. Priestley does not leave us dangling for want of more; numerous other works of his are still in print today, which I suppose is the proof of this particular pudding. Not to be overlooked!

Excellent practical guide to the art of facilitating
This book is an excellent practical guide for assisting managers in accomplishing work through their people. As the manager's role becomes more of a facilitative one, this book can help individuals learn useful skills they can pull off the pages and put immediately into practice. The abundant tables and figures clearly illustrate the principles. The Quick Fix guide at the end of the book offers pragmatic solutions to common problems at work. I recommend this book to all my clients!! Dennis S. Reina, Ph.D. Principal, Chagnon & Reina Associates, Inc. Organizational Development Consultants dsreina@pwshift.com

Amazing collection of primary source material
This is an outstanding collection of primary source documents on maroons societies(groups of escaped slaves) throughout the Americas. Reads almost like a piece of fiction. Its a book that should be read cover to cover, not just used as a reference. Valuable book for anyone interested in resistance to slavery. Includes fine introduction. The societies covered in this book range from small bands to large powerful states that survived for generations.

Excellent book!
This review is with regards to the paperback version of the book. I enjoyed looking at Mc Enroe's year for 1990. Yes he is a SuperBrat at times and brutally honest, but the author, who knows McEnroe, only defended him somewhat and chastised him for his behavior. He pointed out there are people who do worse in sport, but get a lighter punishment. McEnroe uses his mouth, not his fists to do battle, and while his language can be abusive, there are worse things he could be doing. All in all, an enjoyable read. If you're a fan of Mac or not, but you enjoy tennis, I would recommend picking up a copy from a used bookstore if you can't obtain it by other means.

THE BOOK ENLIGHTENS THE READER OF THE REAL JOHN MCENROE
The book is a wonderful biography of one of the finest tennis players of all time. The author has revealed to the reader the real John McEnroe. A person who craved to be perfect snd even a slightest mistake resulted in a tantrum . The book tells us that after all the superbrat is not all that bad that the media makes him to appear to be. His heart is in the right place. He is charitable and most importantly extremely patriotic . His davis cup performance remains unmatched. Some on the incidents narrated in the life of John tells us about the life of a tennis pro and what the players have to go through out there. The pressures, the dissapointments and the injuries that can destroy a career for good. The book arouses your interest and is difficult to put away till you have finished reading it. I will put it down in my list of favourite titles.
