I am not a lover of poetry,I am a recovering alcoholic. While I was still practicing I found this book in Toledo,Ohio.I was looking for a present for my mother.The book was a special edition.I found peace in the writings.I have never up to and including today ever found the peace that I found in this book. There's no doubt in my mind that my favorite season would have to be Christmas. The time where I get to spend time with my family, exchanges gifts and drink eggnog. It's just a warm time even when it's so cold outside. This book and it's poems convey this feeling in so many different ways. I totally recommend this book for anyone who just wants to jump into that time of the year, even when it's not.

Warm, wonderful and just right as gifts for family and friends or to treat yourself to uplifting words encompassing this time of the year. Parents will delight in reading some of these poems to their children just before bed time. Any reader of almost any age will be comforted by this collection of Helen Steiner Rice's poems enhanced by exquisite illustrations. The book is small, compact. and can easily be read at one sitting, however I recommend just a few pages at a time. Pause, take a moment away from your busy schedules, and stress, and tension and all the pressures of life. Stop and smell the roses, look at the poinsettas, and savor the infinite timeless beauty of "Christmas Blessings".

Well, it isn't Walt Whitman. However, these polychrome poems in this polychrome book surely reveal a soul in living color. Every page glows with the floral illustrations of Steffi Karen Rubin in watercolor. This is a book for the faithful seeking the hope of faith. You must read with the heart of a child.

A simple way to record all the moments and memories that bind your family together--pages for geneologies, past holiday celebrations, vacations, special events, family memories. Light, pretty floral background on every page. Would be nice if there were more variety in the background from page to page, but all in all a very nice way to keep memories passed down from generation to generation.
