Insightful!
The 3 Keys to Empowerment revisits the three keys discussed in another Blanchard book, Empowerment Takes More Than a Minute. These three keys are: share information with everyone, create autonomy through boundaries and let teams become the hierarchy. They should be applied to each of the three stages of moving toward empowerment. Many of the actions suggested for the initial stage: "Starting and Orienting the Journey," are repeated in the discussions of the other stages, "Change and Discouragement" and "Adopting and Refining Empowerment." The authors say some areas need repeated focus so readers can implement change. Unfortunately, this is repetitive.

The book's most useful feature is the Empowerment Action Plan, a clear, easy to follow list of specific actions leaders can take at each stage of the journey to empowerment. The 3 Keys is written for CEOs and senior executives.

Explaining the Journey to Empowerment
After reading and being intrigued by the authors' previous book, "Empowerment Takes More Than a Minute," I was curious about this follow-up book. I was pleasantly surprised to find this book was written as a complementary "stand-alone" book with a much different style than its predecessor.

Unlike Blanchard's usual simple, entertaining, and fun-to-read story-telling books, this book was a detailed, practical, common-sense guideline for individuals and organizations on their journeys from hierarchy to empowerment. Besides the credible factual and objective analysis of becoming empowered, this book confirmed for me what I always suspected about Blanchard's usual powerful parables: they are backed up by extensive research, knowledge, and experience.

This book starts with a great, concise overview of "Empowerment Takes More Than a Minute," and then moves on to common, expected questions with practical, executable answers designed to assist people and organizations going through the journey from hierarchy to empowerment. The book concludes with an outstanding detailed empowerment action plan that captures the essence of how the 3 keys to empowerment (share information with everyone, create autonomy through boundaries, and let teams become the hierarchy) can and should be applied simultaneously through the 3 stages of change (starting and orienting the journey, change and discouragement, and adopting and refining empowerment).

Designed as a guidebook, I can easily see the book being used by leaders at all levels who must deal with and implement empowering, or other major changes in their organizations. As is the case with all guidebooks, the information in this book requires the readers' judgment in applying it to the realities of their situations. If viewed as a guaranteed checklist for success by people and organizations that want a quick fix with little thought, this book will likely fall short of expectations. If viewed as a practical, common-sense packed reference, I believe this book will be an invaluable leadership tool for long-term effectiveness and efficiency.

A roadmap to the Land of Empowerment
Ken Blanchard, John Carlos, and I wrote this book as a follow up to our best selling Empowerment Takes More Than A Minute. This book is designed to help any manager or team leader or company president who wants to release the power of people for astonishing results. We know that empowerment is often viewed as a buzzword, but we also know that it works for those who stick with it. We think this book can help team leaders and team members know what to do to keep moving forward. Let us know what you think and ask us any questions you have -- we will respond.

Cracker Cavalier Review
This book is good for people looking for an ancestor, it includes a roster of the regiment with their service records.

Excellent book on Western Theater Cavalry
This well researched book provides valuable information on the 2nd Georgia Cavalry Regiment as well as other units that served under Generals Wheeler, Forrest, Wharton, and Harrison. In addition to its interesting and well researched narrative it contains an expanded roster of the regiment, a very useful bibliography, and an index. It is a welcome addition to the library of books on Confederate Cavalry in the Western Theater and an invaluable resource if you have ancestors who served in the regiment...

Written with meticulous historical research
Cracker Cavaliers: The 2nd Georgia Cavalry Under Wheeler And Forrest is the battlefield history of the Second Georgia Confederate cavalry unit from its first engagement with Union forces in 1862 under General Nathan Bedford Forrest at Murfreesboro to its desperate and brutal battles with Union cavalry in the Carolinas during 1865. The Second Georgia fought almost constantly throughout the course of the Civil War from Perryville, Stones River, and Chickamauga to Mossy Creek, Sunshine Church, and Waynesboro. Many of these conflicts are obscure and relatively unknown to general histories of the war. John Poole has undertaken a meticulous historical research to produce this comprehensive, articulate and definitive history of the Second Georgia that will be immensely appreciated by both the academic community and the Civil War military buff.

Price emphasises what he has said in other books
They say that the human subconscious must hear a message over and over again until it takes root in the consciousness and becomes a habit. John Randolph Price has put together a nice little tome that really draws, from what I can see, about six or seven of his previous works. It is a nice synopsis book, but if you are like me, and have read and enjoyed Price's work over the years, you realize that he has said it all before and with a little more detail than you can find in this small volume.

A Blending
This little book is a real treasure of information weaving the archetypal energies into everyday life. If you are a student of Tarot, Astrology and Alice Bailey writings Mr. Price's reflections will allow deeper insights into your own alchemical process.

Dynamic Alchemy
The author of The Jesus Code and fifteen other books has opened for modern eyes another ancient secret formula expressing the eternal paths to self-mastery and co-creation. Price says that conflict and scarcity cannot exist in a universe of love and infinite abundance. So, create your own program for greater joy and fulfillment in life. Realize the power of the mind and the holistic unity of spirit and matter. Allow the Creative Principle to work by dynamically materializing your ideals into the world of form. Price has restored "dynamic alchemy" which began disappearing in the mid-1800's when a particular teaching was promulgated with the specific purpose of proving the objective world was only an illusion. The art of Hermetic Alchemy deals in the mastery of mental forces; the changing of mental vibrations into other vibrations, not changing lead into gold but something that image conveys to our imaginations. We may truly be spirit inhabiting physical bodies, but we do exist temporarily in this material universe. John Randolph Price takes us from the Alchemical Sun to Saturn, and then to Isis, to show us that being prosperous is equivalent to a life of beauty, happiness, and freedom. Burn through to see the eternal truths living in the life of the spirit. Enlightened living comes from working with a spiritual discipline of whatever technique helps you to transcend the physical self and personal ego. Be the Light! Move to the fulfillment of your dreams. Live, enjoy, and prosper!

Lost interest right away
Sorry, but this was boring to me. Couldn't get through it. After you are beaten up in the first chapter for not being perfect enough for the angels to help you out, why bother?

AWESOME ANGEL BOOK!!!
This is one of my favorite books on angels. If you're into learning more about these special, glorious beings, this is the book for YOU! You'll get goosebumps as you read about God's holy angels and their purposes in helping you. It's totally AWESOME!

Deeply Spiritual & Insightful
I first read this book around 1994. I found myself thinking about it recently and decided to order another copy (lost to loaner!) This book is not about Angels that fly around waiting to swoop down and save us from our misery and keep us from harm; but about the inner self and how each of us has a multi-faceted spirit, which is there to guide us and provide us with all that we need to live a joy-filled, abundant life. It is the part of of us that is created in God's likeness. This book is not about "Angel Healing" in terms of someone or some divine being from beyond ourselves that will help us to achieve an end. It is about our own divine nature. It also corresponds these twenty-two archetypes (The Angels Within) to the Major Arcana of the Tarot. (Think Jungian.) A must read for anyone studying Tarot. This book is far more profound than "angel healing". The twenty-two archetypes are present and active in all self-actualized human beings. The author is presenting a path for each of us to become aware of and actualize these archetypes in ourselves.

a good book to carry with you
John R. Price has written a large number of books, but out of all books he has written, this is the best. This book serves as a wonderful introduction to what it takes to be a SuperBeing. Mr. Price explains the fundamental steps on the road to success, riches and lasting happiness. It is small by its size, so it is easy to carry with you, even in your pocket -- but yet it has a very empowering message that you can contemplate and read as you have a spare moment.

For Advanced Truth seeker who is interested in metaphysics and self-help this book won't offer much new -- but it is a good gift for those who are lost in the wilderness of life and are open for new tools of mind to change things for better.

The best portition of this book is the interview with Jason Andrews -- which clearly explains what can be expected of your life once you master the principles of being a Super Being.

Along this book, you could read Darel Rutherford's Being The Solution which will continue from where this book ends.

This book changed my life.
Thirteen years ago this was the book that stopped me in my place and change my life forever. I have since read every book written by John Randolph Price and I highley recommend this one as a start.

BUY THIS BOOK, READ THIS BOOK, USE THIS BOOK.
LIKE MANY READERS WHO SEEK TO IMPROVE THEMSELVES I OWN DOZENS OF THESE SELF HELP, PHILOSOPHICAL, INSPIRATIONAL, NEW AGE BOOKS AND THIS IS ONE OF THE THREE I CONSTANTLY GO BACK TO. I`M ON THE WEB NOW ORDERING ANOTHER COPY. MY ORIGINAL COPY IS SO WORN IT`S FALLING APART. AT FIRST THE NAME OF THIS BOOK KIND OF TURNED ME OFF BUT SOMETHING LED ME TO BUY IT (DIVINE INTERVENTION?). I`LL CUT TO THE CHASE AND SIMPLY SAY THIS BOOK IS FULL OF EYE OPENING, THOUGHT PROVOKING AND INVALUABLE INFORMATION. I CONTINUE TO USE IT DAILY FOR MEDITATION-INSPIRATION. I DON`T SUGGEST MANY BOOKS BUT THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST FOR ANYONE SEEKING THEIR OWN DIVINITY. AS YOU READ EARLIER REVIEWS YOU WILL NOTICE SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS HAVE REMARKED THE BOOK TO BE "BLASPHEMOUS", "TERRIBLE" AND "FALSE". MANY TRADITIONALISTS MAY FIND IT TO BE AND MANY TRADITIONALISTS HAVE SIMPLY ACCEPTED THEIR FAITH WITHOUT QUESTION. HOW UNFORTUNATE. THIS IS A BOOK THAT CHALLENGES YOU TO BE EVERYTHING YOU`VE EVER IMAGINED AND SHOWS YOU HOW. THE DECISION IS UP TO YOU. THE OTHER TWO BOOKS I SUGGEST TO READ ALONG WITH THIS IS, DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN BY ERIC BUTTERWORTH AND MANIFEST YOUR DESTINY BY DR. WAYNE DYER. TERRIFIC STUFF. NAMASTE

Good, but!
This is exactly what we expected it to be: A very helpful listing of symptoms/signs your pet could be displaying and what to make of it.
One major drawback of the volume is a political one: We are happy to live in a country decidedly more civilized where the surgical removal of a cat's claws is simply illegal. We could have well done without any advice regarding this disgusting notion: I mean if you are fonder of your furniture than of a living (pet or no) animal, then please get more furniture, not more pets...

ONE OF THE BEST IF YOU NEED HELP FOR YOUR CAT BUDDY
.
I read everything I could find at the local library concerning diagnosis of symptoms displayed by my cat. The technical books in the library were useless because of the plethora of technical terms that the average layman like me hasn't a clue on the meaning of. Also, the organization, or should I say lack of organization, of the other books made them tedious to follow. Many references and cross-references ad infinitum. I had to tease out answers to simple questions and, even then, didn't fully understand the points they were trying to make. I've had cats for most of my life and thought I was an expert, but I was stumped and worried about my little friend's symptomatic behavior. I needed help, and fast.

Five minutes with the guide to symptoms by Garvey, et al, answered my immediate question and led to a quick solution. The book is filled with well rendered drawings that illustrate and complement the text. The people who put this book together obviously know cats intimately and understand cat behavior. The writing is easy to understand and to the point. It also explains the "whys" behind the facts. The table at the back is both comprehensive and easy for the average reader to understand. This is a book to be USED, not just read.

No book is perfect but this one comes close and gave me what I needed. ....I'm totally satisfied with it.

Excellent reference. Contains much valuable information.
The unique chart form in the second half of this book provides cat ownerns with an invaluable quick reference when a cat is ailing. My cats, like most, often do not complain when they are not feeling well, and I must figure out what's wrong. This is an excellent, helpful guide.

dream catcher
This was a very interesting book because it had the ability to keep you focused on the objective at hand and still transform you from one setting to another in a very fluid manner. The way everything ties together is masterful. Be sure to read the two previous books before this one so you will be able to enjoy this work as it should be enjoyed.

A Well Crafted Potboiler Western
Allen Ring wins a ranch in a poker game. When he goes to claim it he finds mystery and romance against the backdrop of a festering controversy that threatens to erupt into a blood feud. With his trusty rabbit eared double barrel, a cur dog, and his wits as a gambler, he solves the mystery, defuses a range war, and wins the girl. All in all, a well crafted potboiler Western.

I'm not wild about audiobooks. I don't like having someone read to me. On the other hand, I love radio shows, both old-time radio and the modern BBC and CBC productions. When I'm on the road, there's nothing better than listening to radio shows on audiotape.

"Four Card Draw" is not a radio show, but it's not simply someone reading a story. It's an "Audio Dramatization," a sort of hybrid. You get the first person narrative of the story teller, but the dialog is dramatized with actors. Not quite as good as a radio show, but good enough to have me going back for more.

cultural insights
Although this book is quite limited in it's perspective, it does offer both candid and posed tips on modern Russian culture. Mr. Yeltsin's copious jottings reveal his personal taste for style and political power. The writings also reveal some of the cultural challenges that plague the Russian people such as; peer presure among adults for consumption of vodka and the need for modern business people to find a moral code that will promote sound national and international business practices. The extensive political reporting which Mr. Yeltsin has voiced would indicate that Russian self-government is still in the developing stages and has many hurtles to pass. However the outlook is hopeful and not blindly so. One leaves the text wondering how we might come to learn more of President Putin's own style of politics. An interesting read for anyone studying modern Russian culture, this book is by no means an authoratative overview on the culture.

Interesting, but visibly one-sided
Yeltsin's memoirs are without doubt interesting and necessary source for everybody who's looking to understand what really has happened in Russia during 90s. But unfortunately this is only half or even less of that what Yeltsin really could tell us. First of all, this is not of course Yeltsin who has written this book. Real authors are Valentin Yumashev, who is also author of Yeltsin's previous memoirs, and Tatyana Dyatchenko, Yeltsin's daugther. Reading this book you could find almost in every chapter how authors had tried to save Yeltsin's face for history. They succeeded if reader is not well informed about Russia. But for them who have lived this through, Yeltsin's book is too one-sided and not really trustful piece.

Clear and logical explanations to Russian politics
No wonder that this book attracted such negative reaction from 'experts' in Russian politics. What seemed almost to everyone as illogical, bizarre behavior of a senile tsar suddenly becomes clear, simple and logical. Yeltsin describes day by day his struggle for power since he started his presidential race with support of only 3% of popular support. As one reads the book it becomes evident that Yeltsin always had a very clear and realistic picture of what was happening around him. He could let people believe that he was too sick and weak to rule, watched who, how and when tried to get the power. Like a good hunter Yeltsin stoke deadly blows on his foes when they truely believed he was under their control. Yeltsin analyzes the situation, decides who's his friend or foe, plans his actions and acts without remorse. The book reads like a novel that unfolds the secrets of Russian under carpet bulldogs fighting.

How to make your vet rich and some other stuff about dogs
I was hoping for a LOT more. This is simplistic so anyone can understand it BUT the advice is almost always "SEE YOUR VET"
Having taught a college class on canine home ER, this is a ridiculous advertisement for the veterinary biz. Simple, common
non-health problems are looked upon as a situation requiring the vets help...and I am talking the every-dog-on-the-planet-does-this kind of things such as coughs up a bit of phlegm ( or whatever it ate too fast) and the occasional sneezes, as well as dry skin.Never is a simple, try the logical, home remedy suggested. Essential preventative supplements and care are not addressed nor much of any of the truly important aspects of the average dog.Being in a business where we have hundreds of customers as well as having been a breeder, I was totally disappointed. I can not even HONESTLY sell this book in our shop. We'll use it as a give away...maybe.My heart says "NO"
it is just too "the vet is god" so go see him/her.
I suppose it can come in handy if someone just happens to have a life threatening emergency come up and they are instructed to go to the vet when they might not have. But there are so many better books out there. The one by Giffin and the UC Davis one
are excellent and for the more medical person, the Merck.

Practical interpretations

DOG BOOK SAVE MY DOG'S LIFE!
Before diagnosing my eleven year old chihuahua with a fatal illness I used this book to troubleshoot the possible problems my dog was having. I also used this book as guide to articulate the different "signs" and "symptoms" of my dogs behavior so that my vet could help her. I recommend this book for every dog owner- treat it as a reference guide & always keep it handy for reference...who knows when you'll need to perform mouth-to mouth (YES) to your dog, or treat your dog for shock. My dog-wouldn't be here with me right now if I hadn't read this book. Sincerest thanks to the authors.
