A MUST READ IF YOU CONSIDER HUSTLING
A few years ago I considered hustling as a way to free myself of corporate slavery. I also knew I had the imagination to go with the physical that is needed for this profession. I never did end up hustling and largely because after reading this book I could weigh the pros and cons of such a decision. I reread it every so often and fantasize of what my life as a hustler would have been like. I'm glad I didn't kill the fantasy by acting on it. This is a detailed book and amusing as well. It is the book many visitors to my home can't resist to pull from the shelf.

A Beautiful Publication!
This is a truly lovely book: beautifully produced in paper-back with quality materials (so a joy to handle), interesting and insightful commentaries written in styles that aren't bound up by artistic jargon, and a wonderful, comprehensive collection of images in colour, put in meaningful order. I highly recommend it.

A great way to learn a difficult subject!
I bought this book, along with three others in the series, for Winter semester classes. Although the class lasts through April, I finished the first book in December, then the other three in the next six weeks, because I need to know these programs immediately! Each step includes a picture of what the screen should look like. That made it very easy to tell if I did the steps right. I occasionally used the CD, which showed every step of every lesson, and actually talked me through them. Access is the hardest of the Office programs to learn, but I think I got a really good foundation with this book. I can now get one of those doorstop books and use it for reference, having the needed foundation. What a great way to learn Access. I highly recommend this series!

Heavily illustrated book helped a lot
Illustrations for every step helped me learn, because I'm a visual learner. So did the CD.

A great way to learn a moderately difficult subject!
I bought this book, along with three others in the series, for Winter semester classes. Although the class lasts through April, I finished the PowerPoint book in December, then the other three in the next six weeks, because I need to know these programs immediately! Each step includes a picture of what the screen should look like. That made it very easy to tell if I did the steps right. I occasionally used the CD, which showed every step of every lesson, and actually talked me through them. Excel is the second hardest of the Office programs to learn, but I think I got a really good foundation with this book. I can now get one of those doorstop books and use it for reference, having the needed foundation. What a great way to learn Excel. I highly recommend this series!

Good Buy
This book is very easy to follow and understand (diagramed pictures, step-by-step directions, glossery, and a review at the end of each lesson). It's really ideal for individuals who are not familiar with Office whatsoever, but even as a novice I still got a lot out of it (who knew there was a format-painter in Word?). I highly recommend it for anyone who is new to the Office software, and who wants to learn it on their own time. You can go through the book at your own pace and focus on any one particular program in Office if it suits you (for instance, how well do you really know Access?).

It's a good buy. Also, Eastern Michigan offers a course online with Professor Preston - should you want the extra help.

The title says it all!
I bought this book, along with three others in the series, for Winter semester classes. Since I needed to know PowerPoint right away, I went through this book over Christmas vacation on my own. Each step includes a picture of what the screen should look like. That made it very easy to tell if I did the steps right. I occasionally used the CD, which showed every step of every lesson, and actually talked you through them. I learned enough PowerPoint that I will be able to create really good presentations! What a great way to learn PowerPoint. I'm actually looking forward to learning the other Office programs.

Great way to learn this program quickly!
Word is a fairly easy program to learn, and I moved through this book rather quickly. It was a fun way to learn for a visual learner. What a great way to learn Word. I highly recommend this series!

Compassionate and Realistic Help
This tape deals with how people can come to terms with very painful emotional crises. Side one focuses primarily on grief and side two outlines specific coping strategies. The material is based on well established psychological principles but is delivered in a compassionate way. It is honest and straight-forward.
