Short, Solid, and to the Point--a Gem
RAND, as usual, produced a first-rate study here. In this text, they looked into commercial SATCOM for Department of Defense use, what roles it should fill, and cost comparison between DoD-owned satellite versus commercial satellites. Many graphs adorn the text, adding useful information to make conclusions clearer and vivid. Anyone interested in commercial satellites and the role they should play for the DoD should buy this book. No hyperbole or propaganda here, RAND's text is useful text and solid conclusions that layperson and communicator alike can understand.
Energy Analysis of 108 Industrial Processes

Invaluable resource
We used this book often to help us benchmark industrial customer's energy systems. Part of the data collection for energy efficiency upgrade potential required us to benchmark the client's overall energy use on a unit basis against an "average" process. This book was very helpful in that regard.

This was a pretty good book. It`s the story of Jamie MacLeod and her life as she grows up. While not very fast paced, it is well worth the reading and a great piece of historical fiction.

Very informative, very wordy
Bought this book for reference for some software i was writing. The book is very thorough and covers anything and everything you need to know about LAN technologies. Starts out very general and explains the history of networking and the standards that support it. Goes in depth with LAN technology and then continues to give an overview of upper level protocols and even cabling.
I suppose my only critique is that the book tends to be a little verbose as the authors frequently use convoluted sentence structures which slow down the reading.
Overall a very useful book.

Excellent bible readings
Given its origins in oral tradition, and the uniquely poetic cadences of the King James Translation, the Hebrew Old Testament is ideal for the spoken word recording format. This Naxos Audiobook does not disappoint. The commanding bass of Welsh actor Philip Madoc is nicely balanced by the Anton Lesser's sensitive tenor, while Michael Sheen and Josette Simon round out the cast with assured and resonant performances. There is no way to avoid the main criticism -- not nearly enough of the Old Testament is included, even at 6 tapes/CDs, and sometimes the readers don't put enough energy into the more familiar stories. But Sheen and Simon deliver a marvellously sensual reading of Song of Songs, and the full cast wrings every gorgeous drop of poetry out of the selected Psalms. One of the better Naxos audiobooks.

Cornerstone for training
The Oxford text-book of Psychiatry is certainly the best starting point for an intelligent perspective of psychiatry for beginners in training schemes.I hold no reservations in recommending this book essentially to medical graduates within the united kingdom. In adhering to a simple yet absorbing style, the text book covers all aspects of psychiatry. It's versatality stems from the fact that it takes the reader through a gradual increment of exposure starting from the very basics and progressing on, to end in a very complete list of references for all facts stated. The chapters on Psychopharmacology,Psychiatric history / examination and Psychopathology are complete in requirements for British graduates. The best written chapter is an extremely debatable array, though the chapter on Personality Disorders supersedes the rest. In essence a good guide and value for money.

Yet another sleepless night.
Not quite a page turner, but factually correct throughout. Now I've finished reading it, I'm using it to prop up that wobbly filing cabinet in the corner.

Clear and concise -- great tips for writing in college
After looking at ten different writing texts, this one stands out as being so clear and to the point that almost anyone can understand how to craft a good, five paragraph, standard college theme. The student examples perfectly illustrate the priniples. The section on research is good. The section on punctuation and expression could be more detailed and use less jargon, but all in all, this is a user-friendly and worthwhile guide.

A Good Book
This is a good book, but I like Cialdini's "Influence" better. It is more practical.
