I bought the book thinking it was a bit more than it is. Wherever there aren't notes, there are pictures to color...Definitely for children. However it did have a lot of famous songs such as "Danny Boy" and "When Irish Eyes are Smiling." If you are looking for an introduction to celtic music and you are at a beginner level of piano, this book is great. However, you get what you pay for...

Another Dover Little Book. This one contains small flash cards depicting mythical creatures, with short but reasonably detailed (all things considered) information. Cards are done mostly in pastels, but are very pretty. The creatures shown are the phoenix, a cockatrice, the Minotaur, a unicorn, two harpies, a western dragon, a mermaid, a griffin, a satyr, a manticore, a centaur, and Pegasus. There are two cards to a page, perforated for removal.

This little book contains twelve realistic, neat gargoyle designs in appropriately subdued stone colors. Some of them have wings, some beaks, some horns, one looks rather like a dog crossed with a seahorse, but all of them are interestingly detailed, with a touch of the grotesque. These are great for Halloween, or any time. Recommended!

I love these Archive Series type of books to get inspiration for crafts and art. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with this particular one since it shows the best stuff on the cover and a few on the inside. Mostly there are enormous pictures of approximately 2-3 to a page. In fact, 18 of the 44 pages of illustration are large, single images. The illustrations are good in that there is not a lot of clutter (lots of clean spaces) and can be used as cameos, or 2 color contrasts. However, I must say that this book is not the pictoral reference that I expected. It really reminds me of a coloring book. On the other hand, the book does make an effort to briefly describe where these pictures were originally from.

A fun little book for little ones who like to skate or are young fans of ice skating. (I wouldn't really call it a book, it's more like a mini playset-type of thing.)

There are some great designs in here. Unfortunately, no sources are given. For someone just interested in finding unusual gargoyles, green men, curvilinear animals, etc., this wouldn't be a problem. If you're interested in learning about the provenence of the designs, alas, you're out of luck.

This is a cute little book great for kids when you want to give them something to do. It is great because of the easily colored pictures, that can later be attached to a window for easy display, and let the sunlight shine through it to create a great decoration for any kids (or big kids) room.
