You Made My Day
Reading this book will definitely make my days so much more satisfying -- both at work and play. The book gives very practical and valuable suggestions for enhancing relationships with co-workers. A major premise is that it is very important to give positive, meaningful recognition to co-workers. This will result in improved performance and a better work environment. Throughout the book are "Try It Out" exercises, giving the reader a chance to immediately put the suggestions to work. Many of the skills such as being a good listener and effectively giving compliments as well as critism are applicable to personal relationships outside the workplace. The pleasing graphics, the authors' down to earth writing style and their real-life examples illustrating how and how not to give recognition make the book very readable and enjoyable.

Amazing section on speed reading
Found this 1990 book at the local library - though it does not deal with the internet at all, it is still an extremely useful book.
Talks about a variety of topics like power of positive thinking, reducing stress, improve concentratiion, how to relax your eyes & improve peripheral vision.
The section on speed reading is utterly amazing, well worth the price of the book - I've been able to more than double my reading speed, and am trying to learn "grokking" to grasp at the essence of an entire technical book in an hour!
Good paperwork skills without hypes or gimmicks!!!
This book really helped me organize how I handle paperwork, communications, and information gathering. It help me learn to read faster and improve my memory. This book is out of print but I highly recommended it. This isn't Super Learning telling stories etc. This book really is a how to book. If you're swamped in paperwork this will help greatly. The book is any easy read.
More than I had hoped to learn
This book is packed full of good useful information. By reading the book and doing the pertinent exercises I was able to improve many of my mental skills. I hadn't expected to get so much out of one book.

Thoughts on Munster
Michael Morrogh's 'The Munster Plantation' is the comprehensive guide to this potentially enormous subject. One can detect that a serious historian is at work. He handles his sources expertly and the vast range that he has discovered will surely delight any student of the period. But whilst being thorough, that does not stop it from being immensely readable. Michael Morrogh is a man I would sincerely like to meet in the flesh to discuss his theorries, as he comes across as being completely at ease with and intensely knowledgable on this subject.
A hagiography of the illumined work of this enigmatic Fenian
Dr Morrogh explores in lucid and entertaining detail the English emigration to Southern Ireland. Against the background of renaissance and upheaval, an unusual and fascinating phenomenon grew up. Morrogh illustrates how this goes against all our modern prejudices, and approaches the subtle changes in the Southern Irish character resulting from the immigrants' influence. The failure of protestantism to either assimilate or develop in the region, perhaps the most interesting issue in the book, is concisely and accurately described, if not fully explained. The work's greatest quality is its fluid, yet pleasingly mercurial style. Perhaps Morrogh's intention was to symbolise the transitory nature of the migratory processes. An author of prodigious and unexploited talent. One cannot help but wonder both why such a gifted historian does not hold a university chair and why he has failed to produce further works in this vein. Should he visit this web-site, I urge him to put pen to paper once more.

Good information and guidance for the do it yourselfer
I brought this book and really after reading it I was impress with the information. It gave me useful information especially as a person who know nothing about landscaping but knew what I wanted my home to look like. This book gave me detail information on how to begin, how to plan, how to lay my ideas out on paper and then on the ground. So buy it is great! The book was refreshing in its approach to the topic it was small enough to not scare me yet big enough to hold all the key points. This book is one of the most useful on the market that I've read and belive me I've read my share and besides the good information they did not try to sell me a design just straight useful information.

Este " nuevo concepto de diccionario bilingue" es excelente.
From the book: "Todas las explicaciones y normas de uso aparecen en español. Palabras y expresiones agrupadas por temas. Distingue claramente entre palabras que son casi sinónimas en inglés. Profusamente ilustrado."This book is a must for intermediate and advanced students. Enthusiastic beginners will also benefit and will use this book as a reference again and again. It is more than a bi-lingual thematic dictionary; it is is a picture dictionary, a thesaurus and a vacabulary builder as well. The section on *Danger/Peligro* not only presents the bi-lingual definition/explanation/example for the word *danger*, but also listed immediately after are the bi-lingual definitions and explanations for dangerously, endanger, jeopardy, hazard, pitfall, risky, unsafe, etc. Although the book is geared toward those whose primary language is Spanish and the introduction and *how to* sections are written in Spanish, speakers of English who are students of Spanish can also benefit greatly. There are only two drawbacks for me: 1) There is no table of contents and the word groups don't seem to be listed in any particular order. The student must look up specific words in the index in the back of the book which lists the pages where each word can be found. But then, it's a very good index indeed and all words used in the book - both English and Spanish - are listed. 2) The Spanish used i.e., "¿Os conocéis?" for "Do you two know each other?" - Iberian rather than American Spanish- might be a tad confusing for beginners who live in the Americas. The more *experienced* beginners will be easily able to make the distinction. The good news is that the authors do take time to distinguish between British English and American English spellings, usage and phraseology.

Good Idea and OK Attempt
This book is an attempt to highlight venues in American popular culture that contain elements of religion or replace it all together. The thesis sounds very intriguing and caught my attention right off. At times, however, the essays that compose the book seem to be too much of a stretch. They can seem to force the analogy of religion to some topics. Not all the meat of the essays is unfounded. Many points that are raised are worth reading. I perhaps had higher expectations of the book and was therefore a little disappointed in what insight it had being surrounded by superfluous discussion. The essays are intelligently written and carry a heavily academic tone. Overall, I gained a few insights, but not what I would consider 313 pages worth.

Believe it or not....
This is quite a nail-biter! Admitedly, you may need to be a Philadelphian to have a true appreciation of this book, but it is an extremely fascinating insight into the factors that helped shape this great city. This slim volume puts a very human and understandable face on what now seems like an absurd question.... If we filter sewage out of the water, would that keep people from getting ill?

all in all, it is a good book
This book is very useful for special situations or special places. It is a lexical and has many words in it with exact meaning.
It is not so useful for specific words that we would look for as we would do in a dictionary.
The only inconvenient of this book is that the words contained in this book are not all of them at the lexical of the end.
