I've read dozens of inspirational and self-help books, and still think that "Be All You Can Be" is a must for all who want to make their life worthwhile. John C. Maxwell is not trying to impress the reader with strange and unheard ideas. He is far from adverting any of controversial methods of "self-realization". In this book you will find sound Christian approach to success, combined with down-to-earth common sense and a heathy dose of humor. The author does not believe that there are shortcuts to releasing of our God-given potential, so those folks who are looking for quick-fixes could be disappointed. However, if you are serious and willing to put God's principles to work for you, this book will prove to be an outstanding tool of your personal transformation.

As I was reading Destination Success, I felt as thou the author, Dwight Bain, had become my best friend and was sitting at my kitchen table. As the "secrets" to having a successful life were revealed one by one, an overwhelming sense of successful aniticiapation of my future began to take hold. This book, as written has many applications for people of all walks of life. I was amazed by many of the stories of origin of well known successful people. Certainly, humble beginnings or not, everyone who has a dream to fullfil should read this book. I could not put it down and glad that I didn't!

Recently I was browsing for a book for a lifelong friend and came across this book. As I read through this book I truly felt that it had all the words to express how much I cherish & treasure the friendship I have with him. This book puts famous quotes from the Bible as well as noteworthy people from the past and present. I found it to be a wonderful gift to send to my longtime friend as a true expression of myself and what our friendship means. I would highly recommend it to anyone that has had the great privilege of having a good friend.

There are few quotations of this book - but each one is a pearl of great price. Each one is worthy of our close attention. They are not to be taken lightly. The perfect collection of the laws that determine ultra-successful leaders. Historical examples along with JOhn's personal insight makes this one of the best books I have ever read on the subject.

Talk about a relevant book on prayer! Sometimes its hard to know how to pray during those times when we need prayer the most. John Hull and Tim Elmore have approached this subject of prayer in a way that I've never seen. It's a book that really helps in the practical issues of life. You're guaranteed to keep referring back to it.

The Power of Leadership is one of my favorite quick reads (short book) with very useful quotes and stories from some of the world's greatest businessmen and politicians. The book has a quote and then a brief evaluation of what the quote is trying to convey to the reader. I believe Maxwell's interpretations are right on the money and a very refreshing way of looking at some of the best leadership quotes out there.
I should note that Maxwell quotes himself quite a few times (arrogance ? - you decide) but I would say this book is one of my favorites. If you are looking for a full-blown book try his book, 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader or 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. The Power of Attitude is another good short-book by Maxwell.
They key to getting any long-term value out of Maxwell's books is to highlight the quotes you love and integrate them into your daily life. Practice what you read essentially. Hope this helps everyone
