As a novice, I found this book very helpful. It provides very concrete guidance in meditation. And it also provides useful information on other aspects of Buddhism presented in a very easy to read and understandable manner. I highly recommend this book for meditation novices.

This book is a very good and comprehensive book about the techniques and reasons behind buddhist meditation. Technical details about advanced meditation and the relation that meditation has to other aspects of Buddhism may be advanced for early practicioners, but there is plenty of good advice for beginners as well. I would imagine that this book is ideal for Buddhists of any type that are looking for specific instructions on how to meditate.

I found this book was able to shed some much needed light on America's first master painters. I found Flexner's writing to be beautiful and the result of reading this book has been several trips to view the works of the artists featured within. I heartily recommend this title to all who are interested in this period of American/art history, or to those who would likee to be!

This audio collection of short stories - by three American Masters, Raymond Carver, John Cheever, and John Updike - is perfect for that next long drive, morning commute, or anytime you need something really good to listen to. I highly recommend.

Kenny's text on Aquinas is informative and to the point. If you want more than a shallow introduction to Aquinas' life and thought, this is an excellent place to begin. Like other contributions in the Past Masters series, the text offers a brief biography, articulates the main philosophical concerns, offers some criticism, then reflects on the consequences or influences of the subject under study.

At first glance, this appears to be a coffee table volume and it could certainly be used for that purpose, but anyone interested in French literature, in anything French for that matter, will be caught by the beauty of this book and the information it imparts to the reader. It's a book one can (and will!) go back to again and again.

My 1 1/2 year old has already worn out our first copy of this book--we love it! It is a perfect size for her hands and has all her favorite Sesame Street friends.

I must first say that i am not by any means an avid reader. Normally it would take me a month to get through a hundred pages. This book was the exception. I was completely absorbed by the contents of this book. Things that have been said to me over my 12 years of Aikido experience were finally made clear. I felt I had truly learned something after finishing this book and I plan on using that knowledge to teach my students more about what it is we are trying to accomplish in the dojo and in life.

A wonderful account of life in a Ghurka regiment, personal and lots of attention to detail, the reader is drawn to the authors authentic and colorful approach. I highly recommend this, i only wish i had known James Masters! after reading this, find a copy of the sequel" The Road Past Mandalay". wondeful stuff, about a little covered theater of WW2. In my youth had an opportunity to train with a Ghurka unit, they are all James Masters said they are and then some!

I have been teaching English to businessmen and secretaries for nearly two years and a half and I must admit that this book has been of a great help to me. There are lots of varied and motivating activities which adults enjoy very much. Business Roles 1 is just as good!
